Only going by my own findings here mate, but the 95k seemed a fair bit lighter than the 80k to me. I think there's about half a pound difference. I went for the .20 cal as I've never had one, my pcp was .177 anyway, and I felt like something different. Both sold now, due to an old injury flaring back up, which is taking a while longer to heal than originally thought lol. Good luck with your choices mate

Yeah almost identical. You mean the full length 77? That's 4.1 kilos, the 77k is 4. I did alot of reading the specs etc before I went and had a look for real. Those weights can be a little different when actually in your hands. The length of your arms, bodyweight/proportions etc make a fair bit of difference. I'd definitely shoulder, and if you can, shoot as many of the ones on your list as possible before you buy. Before I bought my 97, in my mind there was no way I was going to buy an air rifle that weight, but after shouldering it, that was the one for me, fitted me like a glove and p

The 80k and 35e are more or less identical weightwise. The 77 is a little heavier, not by much though. The 95k is about a pound lighter. I was in a similar situation to you a while ago, and had my mind set on a lightweight springer. But after having a few tries of various models, went and bought a HW97KT in .20 cal. Yep, heavier than all the hw's you mention, but when on aim is far easier to keep it there, steady as a rock. Looked at 99s and 95k, and they were far too light. Much easier to keep a heavier rifle on target, and fitting a sling will only aid you anyway, if you plan on w

Personally I'd also wait til the end of september. Pup will be about 16 -17 months old, everything should by then be ticking along nicely. And even though we are on a site with many nuggets on, that don't give a f**k about weather conditions, hard ground, dog being unfit, too young, untrained or all three, perhaps he's one of the ones that isn't as nobjerkingly stupid as aforementioned members of the site, and will try his pup in good conditions which are conducive to having a positive result. Let's hope so eh? -

South American greyhounds must be good

Looking back at that footage, I see two main reasons why those dogs are substandard. 1. They aint brindle, dogs which are any other colour are slouches, comparatively speaking. 2. They aint wearing shiny collars. Torchlight, if lamping, or sunlight when out for a daytime jaunt, will help dazzle the quarry by glinting off the shiny collar into it's eyes, therefore helping the dog catch quicker. A bit like those arabic chappies used to do with their falcons and sulkylukis, least, that's what desertbred reckons -

Give it another couple of nights, and the moon should be down enough for a decent look about, with the wind hopefully picking up a bit -

Can't see the odd outing with just a couple of runs doing any harm. As long as the ground aint like concrete. And taking him out on his own is an advantage, trust me. Is he brindle? -

No need for all that rigmarole lads, just pick the most brindle one in the litter/tool shop, job done -

My bow saw can cut faster than yours, it's brindle -
I would think if you put him to a greyhound, or longdog with no base blood, that would level out or lessen the chances of throwing dogs that would be too heavy, in theory anyway Plus the fact at 30 kg and 29" he aint exactly that big anyway. He's a fair bit racier than he looks under that coat

Introducing my lurcher boy to racing
shaaark replied to HannahBear1991's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
As talt has said, don't fall for all that cancer risk bollox, pardon the pun. And don't let him race on rock hard ground while he's still growing, and at only 1 year old , he's still very much still growing -
Trust me mate, I know exactly how capable some of these bigger taller types can be. My old bitch was 29" and 33 kg tamping fit, and shocked a couple of people as to how useful she was. Extremely rapid off the mark and a very very fast bitch. Killed immediately when she hit a tree flat out, after a fallow doe

Lol, me and my lad met you with him last year, can't remember the name of the show. But it was on the same day as the cheshire game fair, and it wasn't too far from there. Spoke to you for a few minutes about him, and he is racier than he looks . It was the cheshire game fair lol

Too big, too tall, too heavy and no good on small land lol

Is that a border terrier mate?
-
At the moment nothing, but almost every one of my dogs has had a bit of collie in
-
Lol I was referring to 'smashing' in the thread the other day, total newcomer I think it was. Personally can't f***ing stand the phrase, so I'll leave all that bollox to all the dimwitted superheroes on here with their 'machines' lol

I've never said hancocks are bad mate. I know of several dogs up and down the country, directly from there, or from dogs bred from there, that are/were regularly catching all quarry. Just don't like the dogs with beardie in them

Page 15 of the 3/4 greyhound 1/4 collie thread, started by fastdogz. He's just turned 2, on 26th march

He put some pics up recently, 3/4 bred by merlin, can't remember the thread now, I'll have a look today when I've got more time

I knew that mate, was just being a tad jocular for the hancock haters on here lol. She has the same sire as my lad's dog. He's turning into a useful dog too. Loved those vids you put up a couple of weeks back, she's on those bolters in a second
