    Sadly mate if they being used as a more out an out specialist dog the more grit the merrier if worked regularly on em a 22tts 20-23kg beddy greyhound that’s fine built like most the f1s you see will soon find its self smashed to bits an on the scrap heap or even jack completely if used regular im not saying for one minute that a beddy greyhound won’t or can’t as I know the score with em but regular wrong dog for the job more grit needed if that’s there sole job so can’t nock lads wanting to breed there beddy crosses more trailered to that job

    The odds are still the same of smooth popping up unless sticking to tight line breeding were uniform can be controlled to a degree over time but it’s all a gamble breeding Lurchers being x breds I’m the same as you I like a rough coat my self if I ever breed again I’d want to keep a rough coat bitch back. Like the sound of that tank beddy x to Wheaton or bull cross should keep plenty of terrier grit in em hope it all goes well for you mate??

    Anything you breed to a f1 beddy greyhound smooth coats will pop even if you put two rough coats together smooth pops up it’s a gamble your have to take tank to get what you want

    Pups foods vary from 22-32 protein he must know a growing pup needs a higher protein diet or if he didn’t he’d of just fed the pup on a low 16-18% to start not a 33% that’s my thought anyway

    A lot of people are still comparing greyhounds to when coursing was legal in the uk they’ve been bred on since then the coursing greyhound is no longer bred just race dogs for track general construction hardness has been sacrificed for just racing I know a lad that’s tryed it twice brining greyhounds on has light workers both dog’s feet were smashed to bits he said there pretty thick as shit as well with training to any standard there just point an aim dogs that are not clever runners.     I’m a long way off from breeding any replacements mate I like my beddy cross types as they are but had a little curiosity to straight Mali or Dutch herder as one day I’d like to own a pure one but as I’m a running dog man I was very curious to hear if they actually offer anything to Lurchers as on paper they seem perfect base blood but reality sounds different to what I was expecting tbh

    I had a bitch that kept having a recurring toe injury she spent more time out of action in than in action her first season I got the original toe right I was advised being a young dog is should be fine 6 weeks rest I was told by the vet kept her on a lead for 8 weeks then run her bang done it again see the bone man he said give her 12weeks he said it was only half healed the first time they didn’t tell you long enough he said the same shouldn’t need to come off as she was a young dog he said if you’d bought me a 3-4yrs old id of said wip it off long story short that toe healed fine but did hav
