Mate any comment on here isn’t aimed at you just because you run a f1 fella it’s a general comment lol you’ve just said your self further up on the post a decent straight beddy is hard to find there for a f1 is even harder to find that’s doing what it’s supposed to all my comments are general comments. A decent genuine f1 beddy greyhound that’s decent at its job is hard to find I looked for over a year for one as a stud about 5-6yr ago now I was banging my head against a brick wall all I got was every ones got one at stud at x price out of about 30 dogs only one was the real deal an as genuine

I was! you asked how many f1 have I worked I said a couple but not in more modern times or recently as every one I’ve seen was nothing more than a rabbit dog or show pony talked up to be something it’s not ??

A couple but none in more recent times but always been around beddy xs that’s all we used to run with the odd other cross now and again my last f1 was a beddy whippet it was pretty useless tbh only really made a half decent ferreter /mooching dog??Why’s that mate?

I’ve always had a strange opinion on beddy greyhounds even though there small types they gotta be masters of none used for a bit of everything type of hunting dog there’s not much point in them if there only to be stood over a Warren may as well just have a whippet it’d me more a effectively warreners dog

Proper working Wheatons availability is the same as beddy availability there’s not many you see most of these Wheaton xs about are lurcher to lurcher breds that look like they got a load of bull blood added but branded as a Wheaton xs most working Wheatons have a drop of bull blood added to prep em up it’s the same with decent working beddys they have a outcross to prep them up I still think most of the outcross terriers produce better working terriers than the standard straight breed terriers.I sort of get what your saying though I’m a beddy lurcher fan my self I don’t think modern f1 beddy c

Why as it got to be a f1 Ben f1s are more of a gamble that the parents were any good for the job producing dogs that will work the beddy it’s self is in a shit state an the greyhound used would be a failure greyhound

Bill hardy will be missed I used to like reading him going off on one it was strange his replys I used to read them a few times he wrote/spelt how he would say things. Tbh he come across as a bit of a nut job but when you spoke to him level headed he was a pretty sound guy and he knew his beans he was a experienced dog man I miss bill tbh wonder what ever happened to him

Id do the same if I was in that position mate not a great deal of money in rearing lamb as some farms are not large scale production so every breeding yew counts keeping a small scale farm operating every lamb lost his the pocket. Good on ya fella ??

I get what ya mean socks??It’s a tough one deciding on a dogs worth or not. Here’s another way at looking at it a dog can go out 7days a week catch 7wabbits a dog can go out once a week catch 7rabbits what’s the better dog? I still say it’s how you look at it a dogs worth if it’s good or not ?
