  1. Fair does mate ??We all gotta slow up at some point fella least you’re sticking with the beddy blood mate respect ??
  2. Maybe who knows could end up being slower over distance given the fact smaller dogs have to run twice as fast to cover same distance as a medium to larger type so could potentially be taking away from what’s already there for little gain really but who knows suppose it depends on style of hunting an what your hunting
  3. I like the traditional stuff my self I’m a bit rebellious to change from the traditional stuff to the modern stuff but I guess it’s a wager on the odds of anything these days not many f1 collie greyhound are up to much other than rabbits the cross is thin on the ground an not many whippet are more than rabbiters or a ferreters dog an not many collies are old school hard collies that are worked so guess all ingredients are pretty tough to come but sort of get what your saying but it’s easy to go out an get a sal bull greyhound there pretty much the ideal dog for hunting...that pained me to say
  4. Why wouldn’t you just breed to another beddy bred Lurcher doing a bit rather than a whippet? beddy greyhounds are not a big x to begin with so not much point making them smaller you know your self beddy greyhounds are thin on the ground genuine question mooch not a rib or a negative
  5. But surely you’d test a straight beddy at the start to see if it’s a carrier before breeding f1s that could breed potential carriers. Gotta be worth a check tho if your breeding 2x f1s together to get them tested just for piece of mind
  6. I had this bitch she’s predominately collie whippet greyhound line bred a half x deerhound greyhound was added in the 80s in her line they were bred to be larger types she was a good enough bitch for me but only really a edible catch dog she was a big bitch 26tts had some real good hunting with this bitch she could run an close large gaps the dogs I keep now contain the blood of this bitch in the beddy mongrely things I keep now
  7. I’ve never tested but then again I’ve never bred f1s id leave that to the people breeding out of straight beddys to do the right thing at the start
  8. Sadly I don’t recon there be many all rounders produce from this cross but would make good fast rabbiters day/night
  9. Good luck mooch hope all goes to plan fella ??
  10. That’s it mate get it done f**k any nay sayers or any bull shit opinions that may come your way when breeding a litter?? Keep open minded to consider a racey bred beddy cross doing a bit of everything get your feelers out there mate something might pop up to consider
  11. I’ve had a few pairs of muck boots over the years the first gen an second gen they seemed to of worked well enough only problem with them is if you put miles down regularly walking in them you pay the price in the end there way to heavy for any distance stuff and end up doing your nees damage it’s like walking with bricks strapped to your feet I’ll not wear wellies again I went through the last few seasons buying just ordinary walking boots had to get a new pair each season only cheap shit ones but all about the tactical type boots now as there light weight an seem better quality trying a pair
  12. If I had one I’d happily pay a insurance/license fee yearly. The same could be said about most lurchers as well they could do with a insurance policy banging against them especially some of these tapped in the head bull xs
  13. A Belgian Mali is on the cards for me one day as I really like em it’s a dog id really like to own there either a blessing or a curse ive not got the time to train one proper with young kids family life an hunting with my Lurchers there for id not have one. People get them after watching all that sleeve training stuff but don’t realise there’s more to training a dog than that they end up creating a liability
  14. ? king I was trying to think both sides of the fence though if they wanted the dog off safely an no harm to the dog as we don’t know the back story behind why the dog has the bloke off the bike. I’d not like to think of the result if that dog got hold of a kid tbh it wouldn’t be nice. dogs like that are a liability accident waiting to happen I’ve a dim view on dogs being aggressive to humans.I’ve recently had my 2year old nipped on the side of his face nothing major left a couple of marks by my inlaws dog my son had done nothing bar walk past the dog my misses told me I’ve told my misses be
  15. That dog could of been got off that guy a piece of piss using the handle of the hammer as a breaker stick like they do with pit bulls/Stafford’s
  16. How comes the bitch (pip) was gunner be put to sleep mate? Looks a interesting stamp of dog I’m sure I’ve seen a lad on here that taken a dog on not so long ago looked a very similar in stamp I’m sure if memory serves me right he said it was a line bred collie x could be from the same stuff.
  17. Bloody hell that’s a bit savage
  18. Think so flacko good shit tho?? but I think pet drugs on line may do it as well you may be able to get it without a prescription but not sure just looked online prescription only on check out ??
  19. This is what the vet gave me when I had similar issues with one of mine cleared up quickly
  20. It’s like anything you put on here it’s a waist of time tbh you can be happy as Larry wi your dog doing so well and that you’ve had productive hunts your still be told the opposite of good you’ll just get the same people offering negatives
  21. I think if you put any out side blood of a different type in to a established line it changes the dynamics of the line in to a scattered breeding of a variety in type it’s a lucky dip breeding of all sorts.I done a scattered breeding out of a line bred collie x with 34yrs of line breeding behind it changed the base blood over I got assorts from pups that looked beddy x some collie x some looked like none peds only on the second breeding in of the collie beddyx back to a similar bred dog there produced more typey an evener in the litter
  22. No not with the type I run wouldn’t be man enough for the job no were near enough power in the cross I keep for the size of red deer be like sending lambs to slaughter with that head gear an power red deer have but if I had a pair of bull greyhound deerhound greyhounds with a good bit of size an power about them an it was legal id try my luck only if I had a way of retrieving the downed deer or it’s pointless
