  1. Smart fella I like the look of the rough un how’s he/she bred
  2. Most short coated running dogs feel cold An rain if stood about it’s strange because most people that rabbit up on the dales use whippets there’s some pretty shit weather up there I think there’s no right or wrong answer it’s personal preference my preference if lamping would be a lurcher with a drop of collie over a whippet just what I’ve seen an experienced with small running dogs like whippets is they tend to have limited distance vision due to size so it’s harder to bring them on to long slips because they can’t see far enough we’re as a dog with a bit more size as better view an vision pl
  3. Thought they were all cowards ??no good for nothing unless they were Mali xs then there the best cross since sliced bread ???
  4. Like any line breeding you can only go so far before nothing is being gained out of the breeding you come to a wall and problems start to manifest them selfs
  5. Your wrong fella you don’t add new blood to create a line you add new blood to put back in later down the line your probably put back in the third generation in it’ll be half related to what line you already have going then discontinued either the dog or bitch side of the line depending on witch one was the producer of sound workers or not but keep the gt gt grand sire or dam to put back in even further down the line or keep all 3 lines going. Line breeding Lurchers in my opinion is a waist of time there’s to many variables I’d much rather worker to worker bred but dabble in an out of close br
  6. I like the look of dc bitch strong work man type ??If you can find a genuinef1 working wheaton greyhound being put back to a good greyhound jump on it mate something I’ve learned in life timings never right for nothing in life but your make it workout well ??I’ll find it hard to stray from bedlington Lurchers now my beds firmly made with them I’ve been around a few different xs on our old team over time to be honest it’s only the bedlington xs that’s left a impression on me plus one little bull x bitch she wasn’t bred out of any thing special but was a real good un an left a impression on me.
  7. I’m sure I see on here not to long ago that most Wheatons carry bull blood any way. 1/4 of any base blood more than enough in most Lurchers fella I like the look of some of the genuine Wheaton xs but a lot of these Wheaton crosses I see looks just like a smooth bull crosses or like a rough bedlington Lurcher of some type that’s been sold to them as a Wheaton x
  8. People shouting mines not bothered it don’t fase her one bit. Sounds a good cross mate what way bred you look at? I should be picking my new pup up in about 5 weeks I’m really looking forward to training another pup up
  9. I suppose it depends on the types of nature the dogs that was used in the breeding of your dog mate you could take a stab in the dark An guess were the sensitivity came from but your never know tbh unless you know all the dogs on a personal level in the breeding. I’ve never known a bedlington x to be sensitive tbh I’ve been round quite a few over the years head strong or strong willed yes but never sensitive
  10. Ffs working lurcher self appointed Internet experts arguing over who’s the hardest An has the biggest dick in the forum ??why don’t you do us all a favour An meet each other half way an beat the shit out of one another??
  11. I get what your saying trenchfoot 100% about collie crosses being a bit sensitive at times. Terrier xs tick so many boxes if the right sorts can be obtained I’m running collie x bedlington/sight hound xs Home bred it’s been a game changer so easy to bring on everything seems smooth without any of the niggley bits what come with each of the base bloods can’t imagine wanting to own another type of animal any more I’ve found what suits me to a Tea for my needs

  13. Got to for the people to favour them over a straight whippet some of these none peds (grews) are little flying machines but not my cuppa tea would last 5 minutes this cross in my possession before it ended up with the rest of my crippled collection ??
  14. I love a bit of good bedlington blood in my Lurchers not a fan of bedlington x whippets tbh there pretty to look at though love a racey bred collie/greyhound x bedlington greyhound ticks all boxes for me
  15. Got a old bedlington x bitch here she’s 12/13 with a few cancerous tumers my vet said soon as we start f***ing with them it’ll spread no point in a old dog I’m the same with this bitch any uncomfortableness or the bitch looks down in the dumps I’ll make the call. Fecking bedlington x is like a cat so many times this bitch has been nocking on heavens door over the years but always bounces back But sadly time stands still for no one
  16. I think on the bitch she retired It was spinal injury she’d lost sensation in her leg for a while but Can’t really run for a living no more and can’t be a back up dog as she’s not fit for running although mined says otherwise so she was retired the bitch that was bred had picked up muscle injury and was out of action vicky races her dogs an works them hard so a bitch out of action An needing another pup to bring on was a no brainer rather than breeding a replacement next year ps pups born safe An well and are all spoken for??
  17. Come September I’ll be seeing if theres talent of my own to be spotted f**k the show ring stuff I’ve got no talent for putting in to that?? last time I tried seeing if I had any talent my dog didn’t even get checked over by the guy judging poor bit of judging tbh he was to busy putting a line up of his mates 3dogs being shown by different people while he waited at the perimeter fence to see how the show stars do crooked old doo that! I’d rather race a dog than show any day
  18. Probably talent spotted for its acting career as a good working dog an the owner dressed in a country man fancy dress costume trying to fool the gullible trying to pass the dog off as something it’s not......got to be a case of the gullible trying to fool the gullible ??
  19. Like what’s already been said they’ve payed you for the pup they own the pup it’s up to them what they do with it as you have no say in the matter after you’ve been payed as it no longer has nothing to do with you sadly fella I had to take a bit of advice similar to this once got me thinking about sorting people I don’t really know out a pup hard pill to swallow sometimes fella
  20. I know it’s nothing new fella but with how popular shows/racing as become it’s attracting people just interested in the showing/bag chasing not the working side of things or promoting the working dog at a working dog show/racing event look at the line up of show winners at most shows these days as close as conformation as a greyhound never no thick set dogs that could take a nock or two on a nights lamping they all look the same in conformation but I do love a good under dog bred for work to wipe smiles off faces an steal there glory ????
  21. Mooch the racing as gone mad at a lot of events/shows these days the dogs have slowly become pretty much purposeful bred race dogs I see some fella at a event I went to racing a pure greyhound that he was trying to blag off as a lurcher saying 1/16 collie lol it was a greyhound don’t know who he was trying to kid, there’s a hell of a lot of heavily bred sight hound bred Lurchers there racing to that are so over bred there all only raced in the dash there owners are not up for courseing them they make there excuses an get out of there but say there working dogs in the show ring even though the
  22. One thing I’ve noticed about shows is there’s a band of followers that go to most shows up an down the country same faces at most shows most weekends most of the show organisers an judges are the same they follow the show circuits be it showing, judgeing there selfs so they get to see who’s been placed at other more important shows as qualifiers for other important shows so they can’t not place a dog that done so well the weekend under the same judge or there friend! But if Dog /dogs from a show the weekend before ain’t at the show it’s normally done a bit fairer I used to get to a lot of shows
  23. I’ve not got a pointer cross An can’t say I’ll have one to be honest just on the few things I’ve heard to me if there main use is bushing/mooching only for me it sounds a pointless cross because most people want a none restricted running dog that can be used for a bit of everything hunting wise unless that’s your thing. casting a dog out to run halfway up the mountain side to run it’s own game without my viewing is not my idea of good hunting if I’m not seeing a run I’d rather dogs that work reasonably close so I can at least see a run an see the dog work like I’ve said it sounds a restricted
