    lets cut to the chase so to speak ,lurcher shows have done the lurcher itself a lot of good they are far better looked after nowadays than they ever were in years gone by and for the dogs themselves that has to be a good thing .yes there are loads more out there that are not being worked at least not to any degree but to say that the shows have ruined the working traits is wrong there are still working minded people out there still breeding the best to the best whether its ferreting lamping or the other thats banned just because they dont broadcast it in big cup competitions like it used to b

    nothing at all wrong with a good quality complete food i won a lot of open races with my greyhounds feeding gain or redmills but tbh i still gave them meat and fish mixed in with supplements and vitamins. my thinking is i wouldnt want to eat the same dish of food every day so why should my dogs .since the season ended i have had mine on a low calorie mixer and give them meat and or fish with it 3 or 4 times a week but end of month they will start to get cleaned out and back on gain 28which i rate very highly .but at the end of the day everyone has their own opinion and if it works for you fair

    tried everything over the last thirty odd years some better than others but the best is what i use now .i buy a horses nylon lunging rein cut it into the lengths i need and glue and stich a handle on one end by folding into a loop .the lunging rein is about a tenner and makes 3 or 4 slips plus the end with the clip on makes a cracking dogs lead as well. so you end up with 4 slips and a lead .strong comfortable and never wear or rot .as i said best ive ever used, loads of my mates cadge them of me when we are out with the dogs .

    my first cross saluki greyhound which i bred myself reguarly gets mistaken for a collie greyhound.mainly because of her shape and markings she doesnt really look to be 50%saluki and if i hadnt bred her out of my greyhound bitch and a full saluki wouldnt beleive it either,the point is most lurcher breeders dont know exactly whats in their dogs

    i bred a litter of first crosses all smooth. pretty sure you cannot get a feathered out of a first cross and also no black and tan first crosses .imo when people say their feathered is a first cross the saluki side has a tiny bit of something else in it somewhere down the line .

    a mate of mine had one a while back and when i put on here that it would make a good one there was loads of stick saying what a stupid statement and how could i say that well the bitch pup he bought is well on the way to being a real good un ferreting and lamping and the reason 9i knew it wouyld is because he lives for his dogs and is out every day and puts a massive amount of time into his dogs .now if someone else had bought her and hadnt put the work in no doubt she wouldnt have made the grade but whos fault would it have been .one thing i do know hancock would have got the blame for it .

    get down to brean in western plenty of sites plenty for teenagers and loads of walks and wildlife about if your up early enough before the crowds start wandering lol.

    keepers feeds blaenavon which is where i live mate of mine owns it they supply gain and any other food you want. what isnt in stock which tbh is not a lot as they have nearly everything they will get next day for you .

    if you want a collie greyhound at least of him you know thats what you are getting and been around in buisness a long long time so he has got to be doing something right .like any buisness you tend to hear the moaners more than the people who have been pleased with their purchase .

    my 2 are looking awful at the mo as i really let them go back during the summer dont really start building them back up untill end of august they get out for a walk gallop twice every day but during summer their on low protein grub and no vitamins or extras always clean them out from inside before i start getting them ready for winter work .
