    homemade lamp with heavy acid battery and lr9 or lr 6sp spotlight with handle and pushbutton switch there wasnt a car in the valleys with a lr spotlight left on it lol. these spotlights gave a really good long tight beam .can remember taping a pot around some spotlights to bring the beam in tighter ,.didnt half ruin some clothes with that setup .i can remember buying my first ever genuine barbour coat and the acid rotting it after a few weeks the mrs went spare has she had saved for ages to buy it for me . oh for the good old days .

    imo you still cant beat the lightforce range and over the years ive tried them all if its just rabbits the 170 is perfect but if its other stuff and big feilds get the blitz 240that will do it all .

    ime 58 going on 108 lol.false hip and 2 gammy knees waiting for replacements still love the coursing and the odd night on lamp .can remember when was out most nights and still in work by 6am.cant do that no more though. i still get the buzz even now, but learned to be great at hide and seek cos certainly cant run anymore.started with the lurchers as a very very young boy and the day i cant do it anymore will be a sad and sorry day .

    good luck but imo theres enough good lurcher lines out there without breeding from a unknown mongrel which in your own words has been on the lamp once .not having a go as each to their own but doesnt make sence to me .

    in all the time ive had running dogs ive never heard or seen a judge show their own dog .when judging i have very often had to judge a mates dog but thats what you do judge the dog and nothing else .i know people moan about certain ones winning a lot but thats what certain people do they do keep showy good looking lurchers .mainly for showing .now certain ones might not like this but at the end of the day its up to the individual what type of lurcher they keep and what they keep it for ,they pay the dogs keep so get to choose what they do with it and as long as its looked after which most of
