  1. try gain 28% .used it all and found it the best by far waste is less and much firmer to deal with and the dogs thrive and run well on it and the ingrediants are very similar to aussie formula but gain is only £10 or£11 a bag depending where you buy it also the bags are very consistant in their content so you know where you are with it i run my greyhounds and lurchers on it .
  2. huntingall the way why do you think theres no good greyhounds or whippets out there and their all rubbish theres better and faster stock out there now than theres ever been at any time you have all the irish australian and american bloodlines which are bred to run over longer distances than over here plus the british breeders are throwing out stuff that can match anything in the world.and my opinion on the greyhound x whippets i have seen and owned one or two by willhay many years ago is that they are brilliant catch dogs and the ones i saw running had plenty of stamina for a nights lamping o

  5. innan old mate you have seen a bullcross catch daytime hares given fair law the first time we ever met i was running bella the bitch i mentioned on this site with all the prey drive it was many years ago and the first words we ever spoke were when you said you greedy b*****d lol because she pinched your run and the first i ever spoke to you was sorry for doing it . she was threequarter greyhound and quarter pit bull by the famous buck of the welsh valleys . but let me also say that no bull cross imo will ever compete with a purpose bred hare dog and shouldnt be expected to they are comple
  6. innan old mate you have seen a bull cross catch daytime hares the first time we met many years ago bella the brindle bitch i talk about on here with all the prey drive was quarter bull and i used to run her in our club not a dog that was bred for hares in any way but it never stopped her catching them day or night . in fact the first words you spoke to me was you greedy b*****d and the first words i ever spoke to you was sorry lol because she pinched your hare . mind you it was many years ago hope to see you soon .

    electolytes help

i buy a pink electrolyte off my greyhound vet can be watered right down and still very efective brilliant stuff its made for sheep and cattle but works exactly the same on running dogs and half the price of greyhound stuff .
  8. when ime talking about prey drive ime not talking about how fast the dog is although that certainly helps no matter what anyone else says because without speed you aint going to catch a lot. what ime refering to is the dogs desire and will to catch what its chasing when its on the chase and to go through the pain barrier and believe me ive had some that didnt go when the going got tough . prey drive is totally differant to just being a fast lurcher. and in my opinion and experience not all lurchers have the sort of prey drive ime talking about . but when you have a dog or bitch or line wi
  9. i was just thinking that myself . lovely pups and look real healthy but ide prefer more running dog in them myself but they should certainly do a certain type of job .
  10. cracking photos great to see action coursing shots like these.
  11. nothing quite like their first catch single handed nice dog to well done.
  12. innan thanks for your comments mate hope we will have a odd day out together next year on the long ears up s ts pity these threads get ruined by people calling each other names why cant we just agree to disagree in what we like and want in our dogs because at the end of the day we are all on the same side. and as long as the dog pleases the one holding the lead then its doing its job . when talking about lurchers the well known saying comes to mind you can please some of the people some of the time but not all of them all of the time.
  13. biglicks can you ring me urgent ive lost your tel no pm me yours if you like cheers john .
  14. same response on here as was in the edrd which is what i expected when i put the post up and thats very raried which is good because it shows we all like a differant kind of runner . what i cant understand is people calling a dog stupid because it has a massive prey drive and catch at all cost regardless of the consequence. and to the person who thinks i like them like that because i only go out now and again believe me your way off the mark theres plenty on here know me and a few that have hunted with me over the years and at one time i lived the life day and night and to the person that t

    baby p

sometimes there is a god after all . b*****d deserves all he gets and more.
  17. the line i mentioned at the start of this post had way above average prey drive and always gave 110% every time my kind of lurcher ive had all sorts over the years inc the ones that used their brains picking their runs and pulling up short because they knew it was a useless cause .well i can tell you this paticalar line caught plenty of useless causes through their drive and determination to catch their prey. i am notsaying the one kind is better than the other its all down to personal preferance and as shown on here allready theres loads of us with differant opinions on the subject.
  18. i wrote a article in the edrd a few years ago asking what people prefer in their lurcher drive or brains and it started a huge debate with varying arguments and when ime talking about drive i diont mean the average line of lurcher but the lines with exceptional prey drive who want to catch at all costs . i had a line out of buck the famous foxing lurcher and she the bitch and all her litter when i bred her had unbelievable drive and their aim in life was to catch whatever they ran at all costs bella my bitch caught all prey pre ban both day and night and is the best lurcher ive ever owned f

  21. shaun you aint got to explain to anybody why you want or got 2 dogs and its a sad state of affairs when anyone comes on here or anywhere else asking for advise and gets shit for it dont let it put you off mate theres loads on here will always give you good advice .
  22. always left them alone after feb no matter what the quarry because at the end of the day your only killing next years sport and nothing more distastfull than leaving a youngster to starve to death because you have just killed the mother ive always done this even in my younger days but do admit that if i have a young lurcher that needs a catch or two will tend to go on a bit longer or start a bit earlier than i normally would but once any of my runners know the game would not go out hunting out of season my concience wouldnt let me . but some obviously do and always have done and thats up to
  23. i have used the pill for the last 3 years one a day in their food and bombproof never comes in season 'the pill is same as women use but get prescription from your vet all good greyhound vets keep them in stock hope this helps and jt70 glad you wasnt about with your comments when i was starting out with dogs many years ago.
