  1. Pretty dry here on the bank and hill sides, but the flint is brutal.
  2. Lamb breast, mutton or fatty beef off cuts.
  3. you still work your lurchers jai ? I get the feeling your doing more farming than working the lurchers, but nice way to live mate . Only reason i'm not doing much with them mate, is that they both pretty much took themselves out for the whole season, back in October. Finn is now on life long medication and will never work fully again, but is still ok for a bit of a mooch etc. Bree is hopefully now ready to get fit, but has lost a whole season which should have been her year to shine. It's gutting, but that's the way it goes. Fingers crossed she will be firing on all cylinders by n
  4. Wet crops! And yep, stubble turnips. No lambing here till April/May. Just fattening stores at the moment.
  5. That dog is totally and utterly nuts. Its pretty sad really, she was abused previously. Now she spends her life waiting for the words "Catch em Bett", and then she gets her five minutes of fame.
  6. Sled dogs look nothing like the fluffy shite balls that we have now as show huskies. A lot of sled dogs look almost lurcher/hound/collie/wolf like. Much racier.
  7. Not yet, but kennel panels are on their way, and she should follow shortly after. Then I've just got to get her fit and keep her unbroken. And then hopefully next autumn, we go to war! And she will hopefully have a nine month side kick.
  8. He could have thrown some handy pups across a fast type lurcher. Probably wouldn't live that long though If he had nuts he'd be my pick to go over Gwen. So all in all not your greatest decision Come round for a cuppa on the way back and we can talk broken dogs
  9. What you could do. . . . knob head. Is go back in time and give yourself a kick in the nuts when you thought it was a good idea to have his nuts off!
  10. Absolute nonsense ......... Sure? If a jack russel can catch a roe. . . . surely a 22" whippet could get lucky in a fallow doe? Lucky .... Once maybe ... But regularly take them ? No ....... 100% agree. No one in their right mind would get a whippet as a dog for chasing fallow! However, I would imagine that there are people who own large type whippets who lived in areas where there were a lot of fallow and those whippets may have on occasion got lucky and mugged one. Just like I wouldn't go get a 22/23 " dog for regularly running big deer, yet i've seen some small lurchers
  11. hey a pet home that wants too work her, aint that a working home loledit too say totally agree what your saying tho , like throwing a steak too a pack of hounds Think you missed the 'or'
  12. I'm not sure advertising your greyhound bitch to anyone wanting a brood bitch to breed some lurchers. . . . . is really going to ensure she has a good home. More likely bred off and then re-sold or shot. Better off looking for a good pet home or someone that wants to work a grey.

  14. Cheers all! Going good here. Down on the Hampshire/Berkshire border, in the land of the flint working as a shepherd on a large estate. Just me, the dogs, the sheep and soon a load of cattle. Happy Days. Got plenty of ground down here, but its tough on the dogs feet! PK - The prattley is a handy bit of kit, we've a large and small one. I still like the permanent yards though!
  15. Some good photos, good to see it going again. For the record, there are still places where you can see 200-300 hares a night, 30 in one group etc etc. And they defiantly AIN'T easy to catch on the lamp
  16. Good on you mate Always helps when they're tidy
  17. Thanks both! The ground i'm now at is passed for most calibers I think.
  18. See you in six weeks or so them mate
  19. Probably less romantic an image when there is a long haired welsh hooligan on a quad bike shouting in the middle of it all. You coming visiting sometime lady boy?
  20. Would be interesting dogs, probably not enough leg for the bigger ground down here. Mind you, I saw two collies the other day which were an exceptional stamp for a lurcher mating, must have been 26" at the shoulder, big rangy, red and white welsh collies.
  21. Finally got the internet at my new house. Mostly been chasing sheep and a few other bits and bobs. Finally got internet in my new home. Thought i'd chuck up a few recent photos.
  22. Thats right ANY man that shows care or compassion for a child that isn't their own is a peado. . . . . Burn them all.
  23. Keep at em Trunk Love that dog of yours
