i aint your norm everyones equal in my book no matter how much dosh you got Oh aye mate i wasn't insinuating anything, i work on a shoot so i just know how it is and also go out with folk who have decent spaniels that have never been on a driven shoot in their lives. All i was trying to say is dont throw the baby out with the bath water so to speak - some of the folk might be irritating but in a while i bet your tempted by a spaniel to knock out the daytime bunnies to your lurchers - there are few finer sports.

A good springer and a couple of good lurchers is a lethal combination. Your right though there are some rights tits especially on the big shoots, they always seem to buy in very good but very expensive dogs to, and dont train their own. It's funny seeing the otherside of spaniel owners - the bushing crowd, some cracking dogs being used but usually much more chilled folk.

Fucks sake you nutter - country of origin has to be one of the least decisive factor in a dogs ability to perform - there are shitty irish dogs and shitty english dogs just like there are good ones in both countries and good and shitty ones in scotland and wales. Simple and standard answer is get the pup from the litter bred out of the two dogs that you rate highest and that do the job well that you intend the pup to do when grown. It also helps if you tell folk what kind of dogs, what kind of job you want them to do etc? And if you call me stupid again i'll cut your eyes out and piss on

Only entering a hole if there is something home is pretty standard, none of mine other than this years kits will go down if its empty, they point blank refuse, and they wont come up if there is still a rabbit there. Before i had dogs i used a ferret to mark holes. Also funny to give them an egg unbroken and watch them figure it out

I always thought the coyote was the 'master of the running fight' rather than a particularly hard quarry if that makes sense, i'm sure a fair number of breeds could kill one that was trapped or couldnt move off, but few could get up to one and pull one on the run and slow it down enough to engage it. Anyhow, both those pups you kept are very tidy skycat.

They are vert smart and learn very quickly, steal, climb or escape what they set their mind to, and they know what the collars mean, like when the dog sees you get the lead, and mine know to go back to the box once the set is empty if im off chasing the dog

Get up early, preferably go out with a mate who likes to do a bit of terrier work and is handy round a spade, feed the ferrets well, collar up tight, take a couple of proper shovels, couple of bars, be quiet and cross your fingers
