  1. Tamed a couple of VERY nasty ferrets over the years - i believe that VERY few are un tamable.
  2. I'm thinking of getting a slienced shotgun. Not sure which and not sure if i want a 20 or a 12 bore? Tell me your thoughts and experiences? It would mainly be used for lamping and for shooting in areas where an unmoderated shot gun or rifle (mod or not) would be unsuitable. Mostly for rabbits, some fox and other vermin
  3. What he said (first time we agree i think!)
  4. i new you would say that what the f**k has that got to do with this topic? Well the topic is about the rape and abuse of young girls in our society is it not? and funnily enough you bunch of band wagon jumping racists latch onto the asian blokes raping white girls and ignore the white folk raping white girls. . . . . like its ok if someone gets raped, but not if its by an Asian? I notice no one mentioned the white guy who sexually abused young kids at a nursery today? I'm not sticking up for the asians, just there is bad in every breed and color. Lets face it you lot are not tha
  5. The ability to shoot moving targets would be an advantage and i hadn't thought about the property damage issue, i.e - an air rifle is better suited to shooting in barns etc. For that kind of range the springer can be used i think.
  6. If you use both you should not have to ask such a question. Do you practice being a pain in the arse? This is a forum for asking questions and looking for advice, which is what i'm doing. If you have nothing useful to add than don't comment. I don't think i've ever seen you contribute anything to this site.

  8. from your posts mate you seem a good bloke, take her am sure she will have a good home with you Cheers mate thats nice of you to say, i'm tempted, but with the land i work i think a pure grey could end up injured, they are not the ideal dog for dodging trees, especially down hill. She looks a good bitch though and i hope she gets a decent permanent home who works her properly and sensibly
  9. Its obviously an issue and i hope its looked into by more intelligent men than you, but as they dont seem to be able to stop white folk raping girls (or as in todays news sexually abusing a child at a nursery) i doubt they will be able to stop the asians. Gonetoearth - How many bandwagons do I jump on? Do you understand the meaning of irony?
  10. What he said! But also i did put a post up looking for ferret kits from a decent line to out breed mine eventually and got a pm from johnnyboy68 offering me free kits as he knew some folk i had gone out with (also off here), i went over his, gave him some money anyway as the kits were cracking and talked hunting for a few hours. Now we go out every Sunday hunting.

  12. How may white girls are raped by white men?
  13. I know what your saying - i use both a shotgun and air rifle, but have some money and fancy either an upgrade on the air rifle (the one i use is a spring) or a silenced shotgun. I wouldnt say that they are totally different tools for totally different jobs. They are both guns, and would both be capable of killing a rabbit at up to say 40 yrds in relative silence, amongst other things. I am leaning toward shotgun as it can be used on moving quarry, and could be used for more than just controlling rabbits in the areas i cannot ferret / lamp etc. Both could be used off the back of a quad, from a
  14. What is a more versatile tool a top range pcp or a silenced 20/12 gauge shotgun. The gun would be used for controlling vermin (mainly rabbits) in areas and on land where other methods i.e dogs, ferrets or use of an unmoderated shotgun or a rifle (mod or not) are not possible. What are your views? At the moment i'm leaning toward shotgun.
  15. That must be a tough one for you mate. I'm thinking hard about it . . .
  16. I do like the look of that dark dog mate Terrier x - the beddlington x has long been popular and the russel and border x are growing in popularity. They are more suited to cover work and ferreting than all out flat land running. Do you plan to work them through that thick stuff, if so i think a good working terrier (what are they worked on) cross would probably do well for you.
  17. Whats the breeding of the tan dog in the first pic with the pup and the black dog in the later pic?
  18. To be fair to the guy it only yipped about 4 or 5 times and did run it pretty well and is showing decent prey drive for a 3.5 month old pup. If he doesn't lamp then yapping isn't a problem anyway, maybe he only runs hares and rabbits in the day on permission and the odd yap isnt a problem. If his dogs please him, thats good enough, take the chance to learn about dogs and a way of running them in a different country rather than giving the guy shit and acting like wee kids.
  19. no land is not possible to poach Ok admit with skill any land can be poached, but there is a lot of land round here that is easy so that draws people off and this particular stretch is patrolled by keepers and over looked (a valley) by 6 houses (on the hills) (3 keepers, one farmer, the shoot captain and me). There are few places to park up without being noticed and you cant drive onto the land. I know its hard cos i used to poach it before i got permission but i grew up here so i know the land well but still often i couldnt do it and it was stressful.
  20. dont tend to see many in hard frost or snow Depends what your doing. I know that a lot of the bunnys round here were killed during last winter when we had a long period of deep snow they couldnt feed. We had them in the hay barns, the cattle feeders and places like that but a lot of what we were catching was thin and weak and when the melt came we found the dead, we also found some when digging. You could tell how bad it was because they were stripping bark and climbing right up the trunks to get at the lower branches. This year as a result i think there are less rabbits. HOWEVER
  21. 1000's of acres, a lot not possible to poach (well keepered and visible from my house) and its no where near what it should be. We do ferret some but the big thing i noticed is lack of day time bunnies above ground. Other land tho - no below ground lots above. Somethings smashed the ass out of it.
