  1. Had only been out about ten minutes this morning when I stalked into a muntjac buck after sorting him out went and sat in one of my high seats and no sooner had me bum sat down this beautiful roe buck appeared about 50 yard away and that was that. It's amazing how some days you can't find the deer and other days they are around every corner.
  2. big boy bandit he is now 8 and still going strong.
  3. first couple of hours of the season and i never slept at all last night. choosing the jills to take was easy but when it came to which pup to take it was scratchy head time in the end i settled on the biggest girl gypsy it was to be her first time out with the ferts so was looking forward to getting started. had all ready choosen where i was going it was only a small set of holes about 10.the ferts worked well and after the first bunny hit the net which gypsy grabbed alot quicker than i could she then started marking the holes she pinned four bunnys in the nets and took another that slipped th
  4. this is a season i have long waited for i ferreted for many years now in fact i use too have hair back then. i have allways wanted to work ferret and dog together and this year will be the first after my cracking wife turned up with two lurcher pups a year ago . only will be starting off on a few small set of holes to start the dogs and only taking one dog at a time . the pups have grown up with a few of the ferts and seem very steady around them they have had several bunnys when mooching about the farm they take there time in brining bunnys back but am not to bothered as they are still young
  5. my girls are now coming up for 13 months old one of them has just come into season normally a very quiet dog but sinse being in season she whimpers alot follows me about every where. just wanted to know if this is normal as i have never owned bitches before. also a few updated pics.
  6. these are my two girls they are saluki x flat coat retrievers not the norm mix and def not the prefered mix but they do still have speed and stamina ok they will never be first on the list for many a man but they do for me. these two are taking quite a few rabbits walking about the farm before work and this season will be there first working along side the ferrets as they are only 11 months they may lack in a bit of take off speed but they should do ok.like i said they are not the best cross but they do as they are told most of the time and i would not swap them for nowt .
  7. yes mate 5 minutes walk from me house .
  8. pups can be quite stubbon when they want to be but they do learn quick they recall well and on the whole obediant most of the time .they are not the brightest off dogs but have enough brains to do whats needed .have both had nip on snout from ferrets and have learnt to leave them to do there own .
  9. we think they are flat coat cross to be honest i love the look of them and they dont work to bad but its still early days yet.
  10. pup made a great recovery took a while for her to get back up to speed but she has got there now .there prey drive has gone up over the last month both doing well.would not be with out them never going to be the best lurchers in the world but they will do for me.
