    People get funny about it and yes i'd rather the dog marked by having a sniff, or as some do by freezing and staring. Terriers are prone to digging and that aint great, but you take what you get. You dont teach a dog a marking style, it just does what it does. I don't think what you 'want' comes into it. And we take out a dog that marks by sticking her head down the hole, breathing like an asthmatic and wagging her tail - and the rabbits bolt just fine. People worry too much.

    I love how retarded people are. So using Bounty Hunters will mean that we dont have to foot the bill for the cops etc to do it so we save money right? So who pays the bounty hunters 2000 a head? If your going to use bounty hunters and give them lots of money why not have them hunting rapists/peados etc? Also if you gave someone 2000 for every illegal in the country would that not bankrupt our economy and in fact lead to the very thing your trying to stop?

    Silenced scatter guns are quieter around the .410 decibel mark..like a little pop if you are upwind of them but down wind .410 noise. for the best results in quietness you need to be using around 28gram cartridges or less, but you will suffer with the distance shot's and im not 100% on this but you can only get a single barrel silenced scatter gun.. Im thinking you will be better of with a rimmy or air rifle for them troublsome bunnies and after a few stake outs you might get a few but they will sharp become wise to it.your best bet on that area is dig your heels in and crack on with the ferr

    Wind in the face always helps. Sometimes you dont have that luxury, but if trying to walk up game that you have spotted daytime its always worth thinking about where the wind is blowing and where the quarry is likely to bolt to when it does clock you. Although having said that very little daytime sport is slipping, so usually it dont matter where you are, as the dogs are working off away.

    Yep, when someones makes a statement that most foxhounds are braindead and that their favourite hunting dog is a poodle cross mongeral I think that speaks volumes. JMHO. All it speaks volumes about is that 1) he doesn't know a lot about fox hounds, which he admitted to and 2) your a judgmental prick - you've never seen Bob work so what right do you have to judge him or his owner???

    As in - who would put 500 quid that a mark means a rabbit? Yeah mate... If the dog doesnt mark,, ferret it, and if there is anything home, i lose..If the dog does mark, and there isnt anything home, i lose... But if it gets it right, who ever loses.... No problem!

    Never go out to hunt birds with the dog but when its day time mooching about and working hedges/cover there is little that can be done to stop them being caught. I don't encourage it but i'm also not going to bollock the dog. Also to add that most of the pheasants caught by mine are birds that we have put down and reared and then have moved off the shoot to the surrounding farms (where i have permission). Fair enough killing lots of poults, going in the pens or running dogs through the drives makes you a twat, but taking the odd adult round the edges doesn't effect the shoots, especially whe

    If the whip is the dog and the stag x is the bitch then the pups should throw to the bitch a bit more size wise. You will get some variation but i would think you would end up with a taller, leggier and heavier set whippet, with a mix of smooth and broken coats. How much whip is in the stag x? Also ask yourself have the dogs done enough graft etc to breed off or are you better of (with expense of litter etc) just looking for a decent pup of the type you want from proven lines and sire/dam.
