  1. "a dog that crashes hedges cant of caught serious amounts of game surely and it cant of been out night after night as good experianced dogs dont crash hedges" "any dog that lamps reguler and catches good numbers,DOES NOT CRASH INTO HEDGES" The above two statements are ridiculous, and you are really surprised folk are not agreeing with you? You sound clueless.
  2. Simple answer to these kind of things is - guilty until innocence proven. How you going to prove it?
  3. That would make sence TBH, but if a man chooses to cull then it should be done properly and only a coward would leave a dogs death to chance IMO. I am 100% with you there. Like I said I'm not defending the scumbag/s who did this but I reckon they were stupid shits not mad sadistic slavering bloody-handed killers. I get what you are saying, but then why bury it, but leave it's nose and mouth above ground, but hidden by a board?
  4. Too much prey drive resulting in disappearances and deafness. Hates not being around me. Skin tears too easily.
  5. yes they use them in Oz , they x them same as boxers, and irish wolfhounds. As you say there either got better breeds(lines) out there, or they will use any shit.!! Or they cull like feck, and hope for the odd genetic throwback? Seems to work though doesn't it, and it makes you wonder!
  6. WIld polecats and mink can cross breed. Not sure if thats any help
  7. Game refers to a 'fighting spirit' though does it not? Rather than the tenacity to push itself fitness wise? Unless your lamping other dogs. . . . . . .
  8. so my whippets aint game No mate, i think you will find they are classed as 'vermin' rather than 'game'.
  9. id say the russel wae stupid Aye mate, but was he a stupid but game wee fecker? Serious question.
  10. Two dogs, a small jack russel and a big bull x are in a yard together, the terrier decides to pick a fight with the bigger dog and goes for him, and despite taking some serious stick, keeps at the bull x, going hammer and tongs until the bull x kills the terrier. The terrier dies still trying. So is the terrier game and the bull x hard???
  11. And in your 19 years of being on this earth please tell us whats game mean to you then? f**k that Johnny, and dog that can take a tiger deserves respect in my eyes
  12. Looking at some of the chicks in those videos i think they got confused between 'farmers' and the 'children of those that own massive estates'
  13. I would be very surprised if any lurchers in this country were given the oppertunity to proove they were game I think this word is wrongly used all too often when describeing lurchers ..... Earth dogs can be game .....but gameness cannot be described it can only be seen If gameness is having a 'fighting spirit', especially in the face of difficult odds. Could a lurcher not be game??? Depending on the situation you put it in? I would say it could. Obviously not as 'game' as a pitbull or other fighting breed, but still game. Perhaps 'game' in comparison to other running dogs.
  14. Just for the record the dictionary defines 'gameness' and 'game' as -"having a fighting spirit; plucky."
  15. Aye, not being funny but first how does the dog act on a lead? If he is pulling, correct him and do this for a good while. If he seems uninterested you can try sooner, but i'd still test him about them, walking up and getting them to run, and in different situations from 300 sheep, to one, and lambs. Taking time now is better than needing to shoot your dog later, it's the summer, you got the time.
  16. agree with you there fella, try having four terriers pulling you a good few miles im like one of them f*****g wogs who do that race walking bollaks when i walk down the street   Spat my tea out then mate
  17. Aye whats been said, go find a dog doing the biz, from a line throwing dogs that do the biz But if not the good dog.
  18. OI I'll have you know that thus far today has been ok. Got some payed rabbiting this morn. Went for a nice walk and did some out of season pheasant poaching this afternoon. Just had scampi. Going for another walk. Might get labs missus round later.
  19. Don't eat shit and walk the dogs many miles on rough terrain everyday. Works for me
  20. The only down sides i see in my whippet is sometimes his prey drive is too high, and his balls too big. That, and when he rips, he peels like an orange. As my mate said, "it's like a body builder wearing a tight vest, when it rips, it REALLY rips". But for me, he makes it up with a fantastic nose, HUGE prey drive, and a desire to 'hunt' like no dog i have seen.
  21. Good walk with dog and catty, back off out after some scampi.
