  1. There are only a couple of years between them matey, so their teeth are all pretty good, but it might just work. The only other thing i can think is take all three out and run them through warrens and see which works like it knows the buisness. Silly thing to do mind.
  2. As long as you don't have a torrent rushing through the waren (i.e the river is in flood) then you will be fine. PLenty of times the warrens run below the water table. On Saturday it was freezing and one of my jills came out of a warren soaking wet and with clumps of ice clung to her coat, where she had been pushing through the frozen water.
  3. I bred a litter of kits last summer, and kept 3 hobs and 1 jill from it. Two of the hobs are the same colouring as their old man, and have grown to be the exact same size, shape and tempremant. I have never been able to tell the two younger hobs apart, they have always been 'the twins', but i have purposefully kept them seperate from their old man. With my jills suddenly all coming into season, i ended up lumping all the hobs in together, until i could sort out the runs etc, and now i cannot for the life of my figure out which of the three is pappa and which are the kits! Even wors
  4. Would you also not think to get the dog out from behind the bars to take the photo?
  5. I will mate, i'll just say a bloke who looked like vin diesel said crack on. . . .
  6. Who knows what will happen with time though mate, it's funny what can turn up where.
  7. Yes mate, so do i. Unfortunatly on this estate, not one single deer of any kind, the big road and river has blocked them from moving in. It breaks my heart, as it is ideal habitat for them, and it's only me who has access to dog it.
  8. Well done mate, i hate being down a hole, trying desperatly to reach your arm up a tube, and wondering if you are going to get stuck. You need a good drawing hob lol.
  9. Lets be honest its entirely possible to ferret without one, but its much more efficient, easier, safer and better to use one. End of.
  10. SPend the money on a good lamp and beg/borrow/steal a batt from somewhere.
  11. Anyone got a postcode to make this quicker Gonna be like the blackpool illuminations tonight
  12. He sees a lot mate And trust me, he has had plenty of mouthfulls of feathers, before he learnt the knack of grabbing them with his feet as well, and then getting his jaws around their body, rather than just feathers. Even so, quite a lot of them are against hedges or fences, but he catches his share in cover and even in open fields, jumping at them as they take off. Edited to add - he has also had ducks, pigeons and moorhens, and a blackbird once.
  13. Cheers trig - Little bugger has been worked hard of late. he's looking forward to summer, and long days in the yard re-cupperating. lol.
  14. ORT - yes mate i have been thinking the exact same. Finns foot still aint right, been a couple of months now, he is still catching etc, and not limping but it comes and goes, swelling up when i work him too hard. x-ray time me thinks. But aye, we will have a night out when you are ready, even if you just bring milly and pic up JB with Luna and i leave finn at home. Just be good to have a wander. On a decent night, there are a couple of local spots where you can get a dozen runs each maybe. tomano - Aye, that wee dog will find any game anywhere, nose like a blood hound
  15. Cheers all! JB - Not heard anything yet mate, but if i do, my first succes in the job will be curing the poaching problem. And yes, he loves them birds mate, a potential embarassment, thank god, we don't spend much time on shooting estates
  16. Now i'm sure it IS fake. However, there are areas of the world, and one of them is in russia, where ther are large tracts of land no human being had ever set foot upon or seen, at least not in recorded history. As such, there is every likely hood that there is some wierd shit out there somewhere.
  17. Yes mate, it was pleasant, and nice not to have to drive for hours, but it just reminds me how thin on the ground game is local. It's my fault though. At least there will always be the pheasants lol.
  18. I had planned to get away with the ferrets and dog for the day, but Man Flu scupered that plan, and i had a lie in instead. Stilll, the dog needed getting out ad about, so i braved it in the afternoon, and had a local walk for 3 and a bit hours, letting to dog please himself and just followed him. There wasn't much about, but he found a few scents to work, and at one point dissapeared and then re-appeared with a cock pheasant which he put in my hand, he loves birds and has probably had about 50 pheasants this season. Unfortunatly my camera died early on, so only a few crappy photos. There was
