  1. Cheers Deepearth, and it's got space now! Yes, matey, it was really nice to just have a stroll and watch the pack work. We will have plenty of that now the season is drawing to a close
  2. Good shot I heard it was.........exceptional even. Aye, and i never knew spiderman lived in wales
  3. Decided to have a good mooch about with johnnyboy today. We have been doing a lot of 'proper' ferreting today, and sometimes it's really nice to just have a rake about with the dogs and see what comes up. After my fairly hectic and tiring week, i was slow to start this morning, so finn and i didnt arrive at johhnyboys until about 8.45am. We were joined by johnnyboy, who had Luna, Gem and Bronwyn with him. It was the pups first time out with the pack for a days sport, and for 12 weeks she was confident as anything, leaping into the boot, and greeting finn. We also took a couple of ferrets w
  4. Whats the fuel consumption like pretty low I should imagine. We should have a Hunting Life all out ferreting day next season. All twin cabs are thirsty matey! Hopefully we will have a few interesting days next season matey, i'm def interested in your record attempt
  5. I was considering getting it stuffed, but i will probably just skin it. It was found on a small stream running into the river Usk. It was treed, then shot and retrieved.
  6. Thats Luna she's 22.5 tts and she's bull/whip/grey x beddy grey. Whate age is she Johnny and how do you rate her? Only a young bitch 16 months, she's showed some good signs, she's a decent lamping bitch, she's done well all round on the bunnies to be fair. I think she'll make a good un. I would second that, even if she is a wierdo Thats character She is a bit of a strange one though, that'll be the whippet in her. Yes mate, them whippets are freaks!
  7. The Hilux is spot on steve. Just let us know when it's on, and me and johnnyboy will be there, with bells on Next season we might try our own challenge. . . . ferreting every county in britain

  9. I have not been on for a couple of days, as i have been climbing mountains and floating down rivers with a load of fairly disfunctional city kids. But i thought i would write a bit about a couple of trips from before i went away. 14.02.12 I had a very kind invite from a friend of a friend to pay a visit to his permission and remove a pile of rabbits that had been causing a problem for a while. I decided to take the trip down today, and with it being half term and everyone else having to work, i decided to take a long young tom as my wing man. Up early doors, loaded up the car and made
  10. f*****g tired. Down from the mountain, two days to write up when i wake up! Some good sport had!

  11. Steve. If you want a couple of trust worthy, experianced lads, to help you out on your record attempt, give me a shout. You know that we have all the gear, experiance etc etc, and will just get on with it and get it done, with full respect for the land etc. Got a list of folk that could vouch for us as long as my arm. GOt no interest in guns, hares, or having land in lincolnshire, it;s too far for regular visits. P.S Cookie, i do not dislike you or give you shit, so i dont know where you get that from. In fact i think it was you calling me an idiot recently for running my dog on hardground
  12. I didn't really do anything special mate. He is quite a natural carrier, and loves to bring me things to 'show me'. He won't however retrieve a ball or dummy or antthing like that, but loves bringing me rabbits, including dead ones, that have been piled up. I think its miore about having a strong bond and him wanting to please, rather than any specific training.
  13. I run my dog primarily in woodland an scrubby stuff, and he is a fence crasher. I like to think it protects his throat a bit, and like moll said it's handy to grab onto sometimes, as he isa 'focused' little b*****d in some situations.
  14. Aye, ive been once a few weeks ago and they said watch it and lay him up for a week. They will probably push me to an xray then see its a bloody seed / thorn.
  15. Yes i think a visit to a bone man may be in order. Tote - you wouldnt see anything from the bottom, but if you look at the top you can see, its a bit swollen, but its only when he runs hard on it that its obvious. It's between his toes, like right up in the divide, and you can feel its kind of a wee lump in the middle, doesnt feel like its on either of the toes. I did think it wa a thorn, but cant find any thing. Ive lamped hiim, ferreted him and hunted him daytime, he jumps etc, no limp, just swelling. Rested for a week, goes away, soon as he isout for a day, baclk to swollen. but not
  16. Right what it is, is that he has a swelling between his toes, the outer two. It is not sore to touch, prod, bend, move the foot or swelling. It is a little swollen all the time, but very localised, if i rest him it stays down low, but if i run him hard, it swells up, but again, very localised, like a hard round lump. He does not limp, catches rabbits, and the swelling goes down within an hour or so or him chilling out at home. Having said that he was holding his poor up for five mins at the end of the last days ferreting, but after five mins was back to all four and then caught a rabbit momen
  17. Haha, i'm sorry mate, i am very very bad with names, i swear archie is ossie, stromer is trevor, and so on! I will let you know how tomorrow goes, you are a gent, fingers crossed.
  18. He's a liar. There were four dogs, the bull x got killed by it's fearsome opponant.
  19. Could well be vhd. It will probably end the rabbiting in this country, like mixy did back in the day.
  20. I'm looking for an accurate description, and even better, a picture, of a 'knocked up' toe in a running dog. Odd, but humour me if you can. Also, does anyone know if running dogs have tendons / ligaments between their toes? Cheers all.
  21. They are both pot fillers and pot emptiers it would seem.
