  3. Been out with lads who use it, very handy at times.
  4. Now then, now then, Well done lads, the little dog really is getting it now. That's perfect land for bolting to the runner, you lucky, lucky boys
  5. I-phone? Just let me know when you fancy it mate
  6. Nice photos Andy. Its a shame when the mixy comes around, it seems to be getting more regular again. I never saw it on the same farm last year, and we were taking good bags, 30-50 regular, a couple of times a week. This year ive seen it about a bit and have been doing 15-30's instead. Its not too bad at the moment, of the 15 i had yesterday, 13 were healthy, and both mixy rabbits were above ground, so hopefully, they are kicking the infected out of the warrens? And if it gets cold soon it shouldnt spread too far, fingers crossed
  7. What about an obediant, calm little dog, doesnt have to be a runner, just a little terrier or spaniel or something, it would make it much more efficient and fun.
  8. Fitchet - He has not really had the chance to see as much as i'd like on the lamp and took a while to stop using his nose, as he is mainly used as a ratching and ferreting dog, which he excells at. However, the penny did drop and he runs well, and catches well. He has caught the last nine he has run local, which doesnt sound much but is good for round here. He;s starting to show a bit of class in his running style now. Carl, cheers buddy And Joe, you're a cheeky b*****d
  9. Bloody hell mate, my memory is crap. I'm used to writing them up the same night I remember now, because you thought it was Finn.
  10. Cheers mate The dog is just a little shy of 22"tts. I've noticed the last few years, there are less rabbits but on average they are bigger.
  11. No, but i thought the picture was half decent, most of my attempts to get a shot of him retrieving a bunny are crap.
  12. I can just imagine a lad driving round dragging a fallow behin the jeep, with nine dogs hanging off it . . . .
  13. Very much so unfortunately, i was ferreting a set yesterday, and he shot off, and nabbed it sat a long the edge, further up, and brought it over.
  14. Fecking hell, i know you guys like dropping sets of dogs, but to chuck nine out on ANYTHING other than a fecking yeti. . . . . is a bit much. Could be two things - one, they are stock broken and dont know if it counts as stock, which can be sorted with running them a longside an experianced dog. Or . . . they just dont have th bottle, which is what it could be if they usually do everything with their eight mates!
  15. Wastage???? i have never heard of such a word being used to describe pups in a litter, anyone who considers any pup wastage shouldn't be breeding, if you breed a litter of pups regardless of numbers then every single individual pup in that litter is your responsibility!! your responsibility to rehome in a responsible loving caring home where the pup wont be abused or flung out or passed around for all of its life, i would rather see a whole litter of lurcher pups in "pet" homes happy being cared for and loved than a very high percentage of the poor bloody dogs and pups advertised on here and p
  16. Rake - That particular farm has vehicles all over the place, there is a citeron 2cv in another field. PJ.That place i went this morning looks a lot like the dales, stone walls an all.
  17. I have not put any reports up for a while, as i have not been in the mood, for various reasons. But as its Friday night, i thought i'd stick up a little bit of what i've been doing over the last week. Day 1. Decided to have a day out on one of our permissions, with Johnnyboy and his step daughter Caitlin. We had the three older dogs with us, Gem, Luna and Finn, and had brought my old faithful ruby (a long with the young poley jill), to replace Tilly, who is still on the bench at the moment, but feeling much better. At that time, i was still thinking she was going to die, so we ende
  18. Well done mate, good stuff as always
  19. Do you really believe a good ferret will be trying to turn the rabbit to make it bolt, or trying with every trick up its sleeve to kill it, leaving the rabbit no option resulting in a bolt? Same with an arsed up rabbit, they know they have met there match, and can hold off all but the most savage of arse eaters preventing death, then they get a break, and get the feck out sharpish every so often, dont think its a choice allowing a ferret to bolt it, just a basic survival instinct to escape when the heat is off for a short while, forced on them by an animal capable of seeing the job out. Just

  21. Its a simple fact of life mate, being out with a dog, is a whole lot more enjoyable, than being out with a gun.
