  1. Fecking love them. Grew a few varieties here, can't remember the one, but it was a bit too extreme, when folk ate one, they went a funny colour, sweated lots and then vomited profusly Got some on the window sill now of various types. I gre some awesome ones when I used to have some very powerful lights in the house :whistling: They were outstanding!
  2. Looks like a nice dog malc. And seems to have settled in well with the tribe? You're getting like battersea mate
  3. Biggest problem with slugs apart from lungworm is ferrets eating them after they have eaten poison, i think.
  4. Heard of these guys the other day and they have some really nice looking runners looking for a home, really worth a look. Seen a really tidy Saluki they had today. http://bristoldawg.webs.com/
  5. Old Towels are a great alternative, same with old t-shirts etc.

Crying a bit on the inside?
  13. I know not everyone comes on here mate I just don't see them in general. I'm guessing that a lot of the land we have around here is similar to you, so i'm surprised we don't see them about.
  14. Would be interested in seeing some photos of beddy x greys? I'm really surprised that you don't see many of these about at all? Considering how popular the beddy x whippet is, you would think you would see loads of the bigger grey x about. I can imagine that they would be a more versatile beast.
  15. It only happened once mate, And the problem was he had not been fed, and been worked a day and then driven all night, then worked all day. Silly error. And like I said he just had a wee wobble on his feet, nowt a bite of kit kat didnt sort out
  16. Trotter - i'd love to see some beddy/greys work. Only ever seen lurchers with beddy in them (usually alongside bull) and beddy/whips. NL - It's hard to say as personally I have only owned one whippet and never owned a beddy x myself. But i'd have to say I have only ever seen my whippet run out of juice once, and that was more due to lack of feeding (a f**k up) and being on the road for hours and hours and then run all day to buggery up and down the dales in the hammering rain. He had a two min wobble in the afternoon, had a wee bit of chocolate and was back on form. To be honest one of my
  17. Trotter - I just see it as pretty much the most recommended dog for ferreting etc. Every time someone asks. . . is beddy/whip beddy/whip beddy/whip lol. I think maybe i'm just lucky with the whippet I have, as I rarely see that much that I would gain from chucking beddy into him, other than a better jacket for hiding sins. See what yu are saying paul about the x lasting the time. But so has pretty much every other lurcher breed. One thing i DO see is that the beddy blooded dogs are the favourites at the shows, as they look like a 'traditional lurcher'. I will have to get out and see a
  18. Yes mate. . . .. that's right, The muslims make all of the policy decisions for Morrisons. Some of you guys live in a very paranoid wee world
  19. Thanks for the replies lads! Was hoping that I was going to hear from you to! Trotter - I would say that these days, on here, the beddyxwhip gets bigged up way way more than it's slated! Some very good points made, and I agree with a lot of them. Having worked both and had mixes, would you say that there is any advantage of a straight beddy x whip, as opposed to a beddy/grey or beddy/whip/grey? Or is it just down to the individual personality of the dog in question, such as your wee thing NL? To be honest, most of what I have seen has been small - around 19-21 ", would be very
  20. Alright Paul. I will ask him mate. I was not so much talking about the lurchers with beddy blood in them. I can see how throwing some terrier in the mix can be a handy thing for drive etc. That's interesting about the hard to ruin bit, I had not thought of that. Would a half x not be pretty strong willed and hard headed? Can also see the advantage of the coat, hiding the marks, over say a straight whip. But the ones I have seen, although the coat looked good, on close inspection, it was pretty thin and fine. Seen dogs that had shorter coats, have tougher coats if you get me.
