  1. True but they must pick some colours out better than others as fish are the same but colours of lures really makes a difference. Have only ever used green nets so don't know if it makes a difference or not but theres days when they are not keen to bolt and it could make a difference but yellow could be better than green as we don't know how the rabbit sees thing's. I always count my nets as I put them down, but even then theres times when it takes a couple of minutes to find the last one.
  2. To be honest I don't like dogs that jump, too much barbed wire where I live, would rather lose a rabbit than get a ripped dog.
  3. Usually upper where it shallows but as above can be any part.
  4. I know is easier said than done but just be careful were you chose to run it until it settles down.
  5. If it's got a lot of Greyhound in it their sometimes a bit daft. Its one reason you tend to run them in open fields as any where with obsticles their an accident waiting to happen. Its one reason for putting collie in gives them a bit of a brain.
  6. Would much rather find it had been well looked after and let him have it than find it dumped, lame and half starved.
  7. This warm spell won't help either.
  8. I know it was solid with them last week as I know a couple of lads that went pollock fishing and struggled to get through the mackrel but wondered what's the latest people have caught them.
  9. How long do the mackerel usually hand about on the east coast, want to get some in the freezer for piking but won't be able to get there for 2 weeks. I have never fished for them this late in the season if conditions stay fine will they still be a few about?
  10. Well handled ferrets can be handled by anyone, it sounds as though yours arn't. I can work my ferrets with anyone and they can pick them up without getting bitten.
  11. Handle it while it's eating they don't bite when they have a mouth full of food and soon get use to been handled.
  12. Should have refused to give him the lamp, he would have had to arrest you which I doubt he would do knowing you where on permission as no crime has been commited or reported
  13. Numbers don't matter when you have a young lad that is keen to go again.
  14. Yeah will be dead before christmas Yeah don't fancy it's chances of making it to christmas.
  15. 8shot it often depends on the day but when rabbits arn't flying into the nets they often smell/see the net and go to another hole.
  16. You need to get more nets really as they know when holes arn't netted daft as is sounds, and 90% will bolt out of the holes with no nets on. But the sets certainly need a rest.
  17. People talk about him fighting the Klitchkos but I doubt that will happen as Vlad is already 40 Wald is around 36 and Fury won't be looking to fight them for another 2 years at least. David Haye struggles with his reach against anybody over 6'6" so that is going to leave Fury and Robert Helenius to sort out who is number 1. I would fancy Fury and Helenius to beat any of the other world ranked heavy weights now even though both are still a bit raw.
  18. Fury has a lot of talent, as soon as the klitchkos retire you can put your money on Manny Steward becomming his full time trainer, he already do's some work with him. Steward would not waste his time on a guy that can't make it at world level. Look at Waldimir would never have become a great world champion without manny, same with Lennox Lewis both had defensive problems until they started working with Steward.

  20. Foxes usually bolt to ferrets though, but no doubt they could kill one if they wanted to but everyone I know who has found a fox in a rabbit set their ferrets have bolted it. I know one keeper who bolted 2 in one day while ferreting.
  21. Have kept pairs of terrier bitches together for over thirty years and have never had a problem with fighting.
  22. Chaces are you will be able to tell which burrows have been gassed as it's unlikly all the holes will have been cleared. Farm I ferret often gas sets and it's usually well over a month before they start using them again.
