    my new bird,

The birds talons will resemble a bull terriers toe nails after a 200 mile walk on concrete , give the bird to someone who knows what he is doing and for fooks sake get a differant mentor .
  4. My humidity goes high in my pants sometimes when i watch my chippendale DVD. Moll, the lad might be hatching goldfish or frogs so give him the benefit of the doubt, .
  5. All looking very fit and in perfect condition , does Rudie struggle with the rats or does he hock and throat them pretty quick.
  6. That one looks like one of Darcy,s side boards.
  7. They are not a hobby mate if it was a hobby hatching hundreds of these at a time i would class myself as being sick in the head.. .
  8. IMO it wont stop stress and fret marks on the new feather growth no matter what the bird bates onto.
  9. Here is two pictures, the first one is when i first got the gun back from Air Arms after repair the 10.12 is with the gun filled to 190bar once it hit 150bar it was upto 10.90. The second pick is from when i altered the power myself , from a 190bar fill the gun was knocking around 11.50ftlb out , once it leveled out around the 150bar mark it was hitting 11.96ftlb and brilliant.
  10. When i bought my S410 about 5yrs ago it was only firing at around the 10ftlb mark, i contacted Air Arms and they told me to send it back to them, after a couple of weeks i got the rifle back and they said it had a faulty part inside of it, it was still only firing at around 10.90ftlb when i got it back , so i took the law into my own hands so to speak and it now peaks at around 11.50ftlb to 11.90ftlb. For the money these guns cost though you would think Air Arms could get the gun working spot on before it leaves the factory.
  11. If you put them coops together properly with a few extra screws here and there they will last a good while, the roof of the laying quarters will need extra felt on though as they leak in when it rains, stick some old push chair wheels on one end so it makes life easier when you are moving it around the garden.
  12. Its not a myth mate , you do suffer over penetration and most of them dont know they are dead and will try to fly but none the less they are dead within a second unless it a head shot that is, i have to be carefull where i aim as i always try to think of where the pellet will end up once it exits the target. Even at ranges of 30+yrds you can sometimes hear the pellet hit the roof sheets of barns when cracking them from the beams up above, and now and again think i have missed on hearing the clatter from the sheets , only for them drop stone dead after several wing beats. Personaly though ove
  13. I have a bird table in the garden which is always full for the wild birds songbirds but these dirty things keep hammering it and knicking all the food, they also but a big bald patch in the lawn by walking around and around the table picking bits up that the other birds knock down. I have been popping the ferals of for years now but i normaly only get one or two a day as they are very wise to me now and as soon as i look out the window they take flight. This is by no means a big number compared to what i get when clearing old buildings and barns but it is a good achievement compared to what
  14. Good advice Moll.. ..i feed mine on chick crumb and lettuce upto the age of 6wks, after that they go onto layers pellets and lettuce, i would like to feed them on a more varied diet but i have a lot of quail and it would not be cost effective for me.
  15. Here is a picture i took today, i noticed a bit of bullying yesterday, while i was watching them this morning i noticed two hens taking turns at attacking this one, they have all been together for around 7mth with no problems. Ive also had a hen bird attack a cock bird, so bad infact the cock bird nearly died and they where brought up as chicks together, nothing is plain sailing with Jap quail, they might be little but they are pure evil with each other from the minute they hatch.
  16. My aviary backs onto a footpath that is pretty noisy through the summer with kids/motor bikes and concil grass cutters and god knows what else, he is into his third season now and has moulted out brilliant every time.. If i tried to moult him on a bow i am 99% certain he would not moult clean and i would be suprised if he survived all the stress through out the moult.
  17. Head's up from me for your possitive comment's, , and a big head's up to two cracking genuine folks.
  18. I cant belive they have all not been sold yet,i just got a message earlier from a friend and he still has loads, i can 200% say these thing are a steal at this price, and for £4.50 i would buy one now if i did not already have a double edge one that is exactly the same but cost me £27.00.

  21. I bought one last year for taking the dogs to the beach, there a bit heavy on the juice but it does not take long to get there.
  22. I hope that poor bitch gets home safe and sound. .
  23. I have not known hens kill each other either but i have had to finnish the odd one of after they started fighting and pecked eyes and ear holes out,and when they do take a dislike to one certain hen it is usualy gang attacked and if they have nowhere to hide they can substain a lot of damage.
