  1. Nice one,10 runs 10 catches that should boost the dogs confidence. If you can manage to shoulder 10 crates of Tenants supper cant see why 10 rabbits should trouble your back
  2. Nuv I thought you were a fan of the Border, unless you can get some dye on them dont think they will pass in a Patterdale forum. :11:
  3. Heres some pat pups 4 weeks old
  4. Good question brock,a lot depends on the weather conditions and of course on how much the local fox population has been harrassed.Where I live the foxes are town foxes and are generaly left alone so are fairly simple to call, but even so you still cant take liberties with the wind etc still got to use fieldcraft.Ive used a lot of different calls but for me Ive found that hand calling or the mouse squeeker rather than rabbit squeeker works best. But however good the caller or however expensive the call it still wont replace fieldcraft. Now personaly I preffer a night with no or as little wind a
  5. Enough crap being bred already, breeding should be based on results and practicality in the field......the lurcher world is already swamped with unfortunate unwanted dogs...it doesnt need more rejects from some dreamers kennel.....JMO. I am not calling you a dreamer by the way, just my answere to you theoretical question :11: .

  10. Its only human nature to have your favourites me Ive had a soft spot for all my terriers that have got the job done.I have a black dog here that is very rarely dug with a live fox wether that is 12 inches or 12 foot. But the dog that stands out in my mind most is a dog that came to me at about 4 years old.I took him grudgingly from a [bANNED TEXT] I thought he was setting me up,the thing that this dog taught me was believe nothing of what you read and even less of what you hear This dog was to ground for over 24 hours (not trapped) in one of those old brick built land drains we got him out ev

  14. The decision is yours, but I would think what you want your dog to do,what quarry, would be the main factor in your choice a bit of lamping and ferreting rabbits is more collie territory IMHO if you want bigger things then a Bull type might be the choice.

  16. 19 months, hopefully your patience will pay off. Its a tough question as every dog is different some need egging on and some need holding back,if I was your [bANNED TEXT] I would run her on a few very easy rabbits if she seems to be enjoying herself carry on when she seems to tire or if she doesnt seem to intrested take her home and try again in a fortnight.

  18. Nice one, always best to go out unprepared and with the mobile not working, you can almost guarantee finding something to ground (does for me anyway). Hope she keeps up the good work, dont look like you will be digging to many live ones with her.
  19. Out for a few hours but 6 is a good number for anybody good stuff, are they urban foxes?
  20. I always feel alot happier having a lurcher in the team, marking to ground, catching bolters and sometimes pressuring a fox to ground in other words providing sport for the terrier. Its the drawing side most people seem to get agitated about, all I can say is that personaly by the time a draw is attempted the terrier has done his job and the big dog getting the job finnished can save the terrier from undue damage. Here is a pic of Royston2 Bedlington lurcher she pushed one fox to ground and kept a steady mark on it , when we eventualy broke through it was a pleasant suprise to find a nice pair of f
  21. I dont see aproblem with criticism(knocking) helpfull if its constructive, even if it isnt its better than just blindly agreeing with eachother.Thats the point of a forum isnt it?
  22. I like them to [bANNED TEXT],but ££££££ got in the way.
