    Firstly mate, let me just point out that lamping pheasants is illegal, as is illuminating any bird in a tree at night to shoot it, why bother with a big lamp and huge battery to lug around, why not buy a t20 torch from the likes of Cushty mush on here, for around 35 quid with rechargeable 18650 batteries, it will shine 5 times or more, further than you can use an air rifle, it is small, you can gety different coloured led's for it, and a good battery will last a whole nights lamping, it sits on top of your scope, and when you are done, 2 seconds and it off, just to let you know how good they a

    Hmm my reservations are about the power of the .177, Welsh willy said his .22 was a little underpowered about 10.7 I think, it is easy to modify them to get them up to just below legal limit though, but I will be interested to see what the first .177s are producing, about 9.5- 10 will be my guess, but we will see, not a .22 fan mate, its .177 for me everytime.

    Cool, I thought that must be the case mate, 187 yards was my longest shot with the hornet, fox dropped on the spot, I have no experience of the .17 hornet, but certainly would not push a .22 over 200 yards, good shooting by the way

    I quite fancy a .177 version at some point, after converting a 850 to hpa, very successfully, I can see how good a rifle this will be, mine was super accurate, and the magazine smooth as silk after a couple of hundred shots, I am assuming the r8 has the same trigger as the 850, if it does, there is a super simple mod, to convert the trigger to two stage which I did on mine and it totally transforms, a pretty dead feeling but ok trigger into a crisp two stage group shrinker.
