    How much is your budget? A cheap and cheerful SAK around £35 will do the job, but not nearly as well as a dedicated .17 moderator, PES/MAE make some superb moderators and do a dedicated .17 job, but expect to pay, I have one on the .243 and it is very good indeed, but remember you will never get rid of the sonic crack of the bullet breaking the sound barrier, no matter how good the moderator, so ask yourself, for a relatively puny round, limited in its applications, IE rabbit, occasional fox etc. like a .17 hmr is it worth spending a lot of money?

    Totally agree mate, brilliant rifles, I traded mine in for a Sharp innova I think, due to them being all the rage in our little shooting group :cray:I will get another B55 one day, and go to town on it, a full tune, trigger job, barrel chop screwcut and moderator, and maybe a custom stock, I reckon Sandwell field sports could transform one into a similar package as the HW99 Imp, which is probably as close as you can get in a modern rifle, I honestly do think I shot more stuff with my BSFthan with my .22 rimfire, it was a belter.
