    Hmm, I didn't realise that. I probably wouldn't go for that then. I used to like the old German stuff like BSF, Feinwerkbau, Weihrauch's etc. Ahhhh BSF now you are talking, it still makes me go all misty eyed, when I think about my tuned BSF b55 Bavaria I had in the 80s, if there is one air rifle I wish I had never sold, that is the one, I killed dozens and dozens of squirrels, pigeons, and a good few bunnies with that rifle, I would buy one tomorrow if it came up.

    Not worth bothering with mate, a farmer pal of mine uses them to shoot rats, but at very very short range, like 5 yards or so, they do not need to be locked away like .22lr ammo, as they are considered shotgun ammo, an air rifle is a far superior tool.

    Well despite being badly made they must know what they are doing, to be able to identify a fox run, and know where to place the snare,be nice to catch em at it just to know what they were trying to achieve, as well as telling them not to do it again

    What a load of crap, these are designed to go on a .30-06 and bigger, never heard any problems with them due to recoil.

    But the Hammerli side lever you used in the 70s was not made in China, as you say they were not that powerful, but the build quality was very good, and if memory serves, were a swiss company, owned now I believe by Norica in Spain. That black thing in the video, is made in China, uuuuur.

    I will tell you what the difference is! apart from about 200fps, one rifle is readily available, factory ammo can be purchased for it, does not need special case forming dies to produce a case, is easy to re-sell should you wish to move it on, and does not pretend to be something it is not! I really do struggle to see any point whatsoever in the k hornet, if you require more power than a .22 hornet, buy a .17 hornet, or even better a .222, all that chamber reaming, case forming, messing about to try and squeeze another couple of hundred feet per second out, the foxes wont notice mate I promis

    As you say, I have no problem with snares, I have used them myself, but for f*cks sake check the damn things at least once a day, out of interest, what do you think the person is snaring them for, do you think he is selling the fur, sounds a bit strange to go and snare foxes in a remote area, where presumably you dont have permission/gamebirds?

    And if you get the tuning kit for it, do a bit of polishing, and a proper lube, it will be smoooooth as, think that would make a very nice rifle, with a bit of elbow grease the machining looks good, 2 stage trigger and a proper barrel catch arangement, like a hw, not a bloody steel pin like BSA still insist on using.

    Tell me about it, what with work, domestic stuff and the bloody weather, I have not had the redtail out for ages either, he was getting pretty fit and lamping really well, so I will have to try and build his fitness up again, then it will be the end of the season, sometimes, just now and again it makes you wonder if its really worth it

    That is exactly what it is mate, now I did a hpa conversion on a .22 850 airmagnum a couple of years back, and I have to say it was very good, super accurate, and I never had any problems with pellet feed, I did the 2 stage trigger conversion (remarkably easy) and stripping them is not hard, a little fiddly perhaps but nothing hard about it, with a little bit of fettling they can be made a very good accurate multishot, but as I am a .177 addict I have always fancied one, now the .177 850 is pretty underpowered running on C02 about 9.5-10 ftlbs if memory serves, but convert them to hpa, and a

    Well this is interesting to say the least, I really fancy a .177 r8 and was, funnily enough about to ask has anyone had a .177 on the chrono yet, I think I will hold back for a while and see just how many under powered .177s come out of the woodwork, I am damned if I am spending £400 odd quid on a brand new rifle that only makes 10.5 ftlbs, time will tell

    Do you know or where you on the end of his dirty tricks? If not then I find it difficult to understand how you can say it was extreme or not good enough. It might have nothing to do with him and dogs, who knows what he was upto? Someone obviously thought the punishment they dished out fitted the 'crime' or they are a shit shot... Just saying.
