Are The Police Allowed ??????
charlie caller replied to gibbo1973's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Sounds like they are literally looking for any excuse -
If he can catch it mate, I will come and get it and get in touch with the bird register and try and re-unite it with its owner, let me know.

Which Springer To Buy?
charlie caller replied to AliLangford's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
You'll ruffle some feathers with this one mate... But I kinda agree. I probably will mate but after shooting airguns for the last 35 years or so, I think I am entitled to an informed opinion, I was a .22 man for the formative years of my airgunning career, I remember getting a .177 hw80 back when they first came out most of my mates had .22 fwb sports, or airsporters etc, well after using the hw80 along side their .22s I was a complete convert, I outshot them and killed more stuff stone dead with one shot than I ever believed possible, in my humble opinion, in a legal limit air rif -
Which Springer To Buy?

Good luck whatever you get, just ensure its .177 -
It is basically an 850 airmagnum, with an air cylinder in place of c02, having modded an 850 to hpa, and doing a two stage trigger mod (which is simplicity itself) I know how accurate these rifles can be, very very accurate, I might fancy a .177 when one or two come onto the secondhand market, and they are easy to strip, a little fiddly but nothing complicated.

First Night Out With My New 17Hmr
charlie caller replied to rimfirelover1990's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I am not going over the same boring old ground again, but with people getting bolts blown up and bits of the stock flying off I tend to disagree, and before anyone says "show me where the account of that is" take a look on the Stalking directory, and I am pretty sure there was a chap on here not too long ago that thankfully was not injured but had his hmr damaged quite badly. -
Right chaps is there anyone in s yorks/derbyshire that would like to team up for some hawking? I am finding it a pain in the a**e ferreting and working the redtail alone, I also do a lot of lamping with my redtail, so if your into lamping your bird too that would be good, no offence to anyone, but those without land of your own, please dont bother to reply, responsible falconers with land so we can go on each others ground is what I am after, I have got plenty of land, and am happy to contribute to fuel for trips out, should it be needed, by all means pm me if you wish, cheers Charlie.

Looking For A Benelli M2
charlie caller replied to wardy.s.s.'s topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
My local shop had a very nice m1 rh black synthetic in recently, if you are interested I could ring and ask if he still has it, I have an m1 in lh and it is an amazing gun, apart from a few, (pointless in my view) changes` to the stock, they are the same gun, let me know if you are interested? -
Do you think you might be in danger of becoming, shall we say a "porker" eating all that lot?

First Night Out With My New 17Hmr
charlie caller replied to rimfirelover1990's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Sounds like you had fun mate, but yet another worrying Hmr, bullet stuck in barrel, report, fortunately you had the presence of mind to check up the barrel before chambering another round, this is happening far far too often, how long before someone is seriously hurt with one of these damn hmrs? And as for Remington ammo, well I have used .22lr, .22 hornet, .243, .30-06 and never seen any that was any good -

Doubt it if that's the only conviction on record, Can never say for definite without applying. no I got a few more. not don't jail but I don't think I will waste my time applying. put it off for the last 5 years already that's how confident I am Look if you have been a good lad for some time, and are basically regarded as a reformed character, then apply, just be totally honest, put down all your convictions, you might be pleasantly surprised -

17 Winchester Super Magnum (17Wsm)
charlie caller replied to Matthew Phillips's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Well lets look at it this way, to propel a 100grain bullet from a .243 for instance takes (at max charge and obviously depending on powder used) about 39-40 grains of powder, to do the same with a 58 grain bullet takes roughly 45-47 grains of powder, based on using H414 powder, also think in these terms, take two identical air rifles one in .177 and one in .22. both producing the legal limit of 12ftlbs, now swap the barrels over, the .22 will now in all probability be over the legal limit, the .177 well below, this is because it takes more air/spring power to drive the smaller calibre to the s -

17 Winchester Super Magnum (17Wsm)
charlie caller replied to Matthew Phillips's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I dont see why pressure would be an issue, as it would take less powder to throw a .22 projectile than a .17 from the same case, however when the .22wmr is available in semi auto, and Hornady make the brilliant 30 grain vmax, why bother? If you need more grunt get a .22 hornet and reload. -
So ring up the licensing dept from another force, and ask them if its passed, if it is shoot on it, job done alternatively, ring your force again, and put a slightly stronger case forward, I.E "The landowner on ....... farm is very keen on me culling rabbits on his land. I would greatly appreciate you checking to see if the land is cleared for .22rf or whatever, dont be fobbed off by civilian workers in the firearms dept, ask to speak to someone in charge if necessary, it is THEIR job to tell you if land is cleared or not, when you get to speak to whoever is in charge, ask about an open ticke

You can just ring the police and ask them what if any calibre the land is passed for, as all land that is firearms checked/passed is on the police computer, I have done this in the past several times, the fact that your force have sent you this form, suggests that the ground is not passed for fac of any calibre, but I would ring the firearms team of another force and ask them to check the land out because if it turns out that the land is passed for your calibre, and your ticket states, "land deemed suitable by the chief constable for the area the land is situated" you do NOT need to fill any f

charlie caller replied to gibbo1973's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
As with all these things, I suspect there will be far more to this than meets the eye, I very much doubt the police have decided to revoke the tickets of existing fac holders, just because they had a speeding fine or caution for a minor offence, previously disclosed, no I think if you look under the surface these individuals will have comited offences, after being granted. -
O they are bud they are very good how you keeping mate atvbmac  Good enough to put on a .243 and shoot foxes 200 yards away, lets put it like that
-
Having had the Dereelight which a nm 800 is just tarted up, I dont think the build quality is significantly better, t20 gets my vote, think the nm 800 is overpriced and over marketed.
-
Nice one mate, cant beat a bit of the old .243
-
I can tell you these t20 lamps are very good, I have one with green led that goes on my .243 for foxing, I would have no quarms about shooting a fox @200 yards possibly 250 with this lamp, in the right conditions, with a big rifle, (or any rifle) it is vital that you identify 100% that its a fox you are shooting at, as there are no second chances, and this t20 allows me to do just that at a good long range

Exterminate, exterminate.

Or the foxes have died of old age
