    Just a thought mate, if you are a member of this club, why not apply for an fac and get a .22 rimfire? Your budget will get you a very nice one,the ammo is cheap as chips, no recoil, only need to lift a light bolt to reload, and they are very light, unless you really want to shoot an airgun? Give it some thought, maybe have a go down the club.

    Just follow the instructions, get the Birchwood Casey kit, its a piece of cake mate, or alternatively take the barrel off and send it away to be done, wont cost a lot more to be honest.

    Which makes it EVEN more surprising I would doubt many forces in this day and age would grant a deer calibre on the basis of paid days only, they must have paid for some stalking with an estate and specified where before applying! I mean come on, it does not ring true that on first application for centerfire rifles, with no previous knowledge, no set ground to stalk on, no firearms experience, that they were granted fully open certificates, in both Scotland and England, no sorry I dont buy it mate, as said earlier, I am not doubting you in any way, but I think they are either winding you up,

    Boyds in the states mate, just google Boyds rifle stocks, they are superb and you will get sorted for around 130 quid.

    I dont have a hornet now, as I use the .243, but in my honest opinion, you simply cannot beat a Nikon prostaff, with the bdc reticule, they are the best value scopes in the country, the clarity lamping is superb, I have looked down my mates S+B 8x56, at night and both of us really struggle to see any difference, I will say it again, they are superb scopes, and I cant see myself buying anything else for centrefire ever again.

    The simple reason is that the Rem cases are thinner than Winchester so have a greater internal capacity, you do notice this with some cases, we worked up a good accurate load for my mates 6.5x55 swede, and with a load that was fine with, I think Lapua cases,(could have been Hornady) they were over pressure in Privi cases, so it pays to start low and work up, when changing any components, as for the case flare die, well I always trim/chamfer the case, and I tried both with and without case flaring, and noticed an improvement when flared, I think because Hornet bullets are flat based, the flare

    Whatever you buy make sure it fits, you can spend grand on a Purdey, but if it dont fit you wont hit as much as a 300 quid gun that does.

    He is only saying that because he cant hit a barn door with one side by side everytime, I am fortunate that I can shoot both, but I just dont like o/u, I love my Benelli semi for most things, but if I ever happen apon a nice 3" mag pistol grip side by side hammer gun with a flat rib, I just may be tempted to have it and use it for everything.
