Gamo Maxima .177, in really nice condition, had about 600 pellets through it from new, it has had a lube tune, and shoots at a nice 11.6ftlbs with air arms field, the best break barrel Gamo make, the rubber inserts in the stock provide a nice grip and encourage a good hold, I have shot pigeons @ 40 yards with it and the squirrel in the picture is a 30 yard head shot, a very accurate springer, and would be a superb platform for a full tune, it comes with either a brand new Jsr red/green dot sight(very nice quality) or a choice of Ags 3-9x40, or a Nikko sterling 4x40px all with quality mounts, a

Condition 4 Fox Can I Shoot Deer
charlie caller replied to Cushty mush's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
What a load of horse sh*te, they cannot force you to take a meaningless qualification, that has no official standing, or is recognised in law, it is hardly worth the paper it is written on. -
Condition 4 Fox Can I Shoot Deer
charlie caller replied to Cushty mush's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
It is this simple, if you do not have a condition for deer on your ticket,YOU CANNOT SHOOT DEER, dsc1 is NOT required to shoot deer in the uk, however we see plenty of forces insisting that people have it before granting a deer legal calibre, most applicants will roll over and take the easy option and do dsc1 in order to obtain their deer rifle, now the police are perfectly within their rights to add whatever conditions they like to your certificate, mentoring conditions etc, what they cannot do is insist that you have a largely meaningless qualification in order to grant you a deer calibre, i -

He is a satanist, and does not wish you to intrude on his diabolical rites, or he would have to kill you. -
And I might add better than the .17 hmr, and benefits from being available in semi auto

Setting New Rifle Up
charlie caller replied to Tornado1979's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Told you Mike was a good egg! Personally I think it is a load of crap, all this running in business, I have an aquaintance who happens to be a gunsmith in Montana, and a very good and knowledgeable one at that, he says it is rubbish, and you should just get on with shooting them, after all it has had several shots through it, at the factory and the proof house, without all this pratting about, but each to his own, glad you got sorted mate. -
Well done pal, this is the sort of thing the antis dont see, or choose to ignore, the w***ers would rather it run around covered in mange than you give it a merciful end.
-
Well done to the lads, and what a silly misguided cow lol.

18 Weeks And Still Waiting Zzzzzzzzzz

Splendid old chap, let me know when you want a trip over to Calton moor, and we can set her up -
I agree with you mate, do you think they are any harder to get fit than say a Harris? I dont, I just think people get them after having a Harris, and expect them to perform instantly which they dont, you have to work at it, but once fit, bloody hell they will put game in the bag with the best of them, the out and out determination, and cover crashing, is something else if you have never experienced it
-
And they do look the meanest killing machine with there crest up and wings spread on a kill.
-
I would be grateful if you would let me know how you get on with them please, as my eldest lad uses my 16 bore and I would like to take him on the duck this year, and I was worrying about what to use,I just hope they are nothing like the old stuff, I honestly have never used anything as bad.

Bullet Selection For .223 ?
charlie caller replied to Tornado1979's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Haha, it is one vice I have not managed to aquire YET! -
Cant comment on the new stuff, but the old stuff was dreadful, I remember pricking a mallard on the Ouse washes, it came down about 35 yards away in the water so a quick follow up shot was used to kill it, after firing at it 3 times with bismouth, it was still swimming around, I found a heavy shot no 4 in my bag, the duck was now 50 yards away, bang, stone dead and I waded out to get it, I will never use that crap again.

Bullet Selection For .223 ?
charlie caller replied to Tornado1979's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
My mate uses nothing but factory ammo in his CZ527 .222 and he rarely misses up to 250 yards, so yep good factory ammo will do the job fine, I just like the wide bullet choice you get reloading, and I do get pleasure from shooting with something I have made myself, a bit like tying ones own trout flies (no I dont) lol. -
Bullet Selection For .223 ?
charlie caller replied to Tornado1979's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Again I agree, but only if his rifle likes them, which it probably will, but all rifles are different, what may be spit accurate in one may be crap in another, I will soon get him reloading, and the Sako or Norma cases will be great for that. -
Bullet Selection For .223 ?

They are only the best if your rifle likes them mate, if it does not shoot them, and it shoots privi well the privi are better. -
Gamo Maxima .177, lovely condition, only fired about 600 pellets from new, it has nice wood, and immaculate blueing, it has had a lube tune, and shoots at a consistent 11.6 ftlbs, in my opinion this is the best rifle Gamo make, and the rubber inserts in the stock give a nice grip, and encourage a good hold, it comes with a choice of either a top quality jsr red/green dot scope that is brand new (pictured on rifle) or a AGS 3-9x40, or a 4x40 ao Nikko sterling, all with quality mounts, your choice, deadly on squirrels and pigeons, the best shot was a 45 yard pigeon with the rifle, I will include

I dont honestly know mate lol, I have only had this one for a while and was kind of a rescue, its either a small female or a big male, will have it tested later on in the year, its turning out to be a bloody good bird though.
