  1. i've just put a bsa essencial 3-9x44 on mine mate, its a mil dot scope, no parralax, i think theyre around the 60 quid mark. seems ok so far but its only been a week... all the best, wurz
  2. i agree with the above but i reckon mk1 rapids will prove emselves a cut above the pcp crop, thetre simple to work on and built like tractors, totally made to last... youre definitely all bang on tho, some of the modern pcp's just have so many problems waiting to happen with em, but i think hunting makes far more demands on a rifle than say target shooting just cos of the amount of knocks and bumps we put them through. in an age where companies build products with an in-built self destruct mode( see any nokia, microsoft, dyson or apple product- you know full what i mean!) though i cant see a
  3. sounds good si,so youre keeping the shroud then mate? much prefer mine without one, although originally that was cos i wanted the r10ch shorter and couldnt see the point of putting it back on when i'd be using a silencer anyhow, but now i quite like the look of it as well. it seemed a bit daft that the shroud did sod all for the muzzle crack, like it was purely cosmetic? admittedly i never even thought about shortening the shroud to suit the new barrel... all the best, wurz
  4. nice bit of kit shay, can you open it out and lie on it when youre zeroing mate? if you'd bought one for each of your guns the dealer could've retired, or given you a bulk bulk order discount... have a good 'un, wurz

  10. dont talk to me about scopes!! tried to sort my map tonight and my scopemounts dont sit right on the dove tails and i didnt check before i got it all set up, nasty case of not being able to zero the thing after all... i've put a bsa essencial on now cos i've proper mounts for that, hopefully get it zeroed tomorrow morning and then off to the new permission. sorry for hijacking the thread, had to get that off me chest!! all the best, wurz
  11. good shooting mate, i'dve thought about hitting the humpers nutsack too so welldone for making it a permenant lesson with the head shot... enjoyed the write up mate all the best, wurz
  12. nice shooting davy, hat off mate cheers, wurz
  13. cheers lads, to be honest i reckon the scope mightve had a knock so if changing the pellets from ftts to penetrators give the same results then its off with the simmons and on with the map pro- expect all sorts of parralax related questions to follow if so!! @ buster, first i will check that the scopes centred tho, i appreciate the advise there mate at si, i normally use H+N FTT's mate but as they havent got a weight written anywhere on em i used 15.6 grain logun penetrators so i could get an accurate chrono reading, i normally use em in the rapid to pretty good effect but like you say
  14. alright lads, following on from the stables cock ups the other night it looks like i've still got issues to work out due to sudden loss of zero which i originally thought was the mag indexing incorrectly, and the fact that my groupings are suddenly up to 2" at 30 yds(what the ??) i'm trying to figure out whether its the scope or rifle thats at fault and dont want to remove the scope to try another if i can help it, as there shouldnt be owt wrong with it-after all its put meat on the table very well since october. mounts are all secure as well. putting the gun through the chrono i've found th
  15. nice shooting mate... i've never been ratting, looks bloody great fun all the best, wurz
  16. bepanthens good stuff mate. word of warning-avoid shirts with collarswhile its healing if poss, it'll dry it out and possibly infect it-i speak from experience buddy, my neck took a fortnight longer to heal cos of it atb, wurz
  17. you can always wrap the tat with cling film to protect it,just make sure it stays clean and you use a good moisturiser on it.i always tell my punters to give it a 20minute hot shower followed by 10 minutes(ish) of cold shower as soon as they take the dressing off.if it hasnt started drying out already, it'll knock about half the healing time off of it. the japs have a hot bath n cold blast after they do their bodysuits, and if they dont know how to heal theirs then no one does... hope this helps, wurz
  18. good news then tony, you'll be a busy boy now then! excellent pics as ever mate, quality shooting you'll still be bringing a few home on the bad trips too mate, just remember to pick em up(like i didnt )...enjoy yourself over there buddy, all the best, wurz

  22. i got a hills too but the r10ch needs 232 bar and i smoke so i got a bottle in return for some work! saves pulling out the oxygen tent everytime i need a fill... atb, wurz
  23. good work fella! i had a look last night, and its got fun written all over it- its a triangle shape with a main road running along one side, a school on the other and a footpath running through the middle, so i'm gonna have to be careful and get the warning signs up on the gates, and inform the local nick when i go. i did see about 20 or so rabbits so at least that'll compensate for the hassle but its gonna be ambush only as its just been mown for silage. i hate summer ambushing- i keep nodding off while i'm waiting in the sun, i fell asleep for over 2 hours once, and woke up to find two kit
