:whistling:Thanks for your reply wurz, Do you not notice any difference in power from when you fill it to when youve fired say 100-150 shots? My power is ridiculously low and pretty inconsistent if i fill to 200bar. Is your rapid regulated by any chance? Kyle noy really mate, altho i normally give it a fill around about the 150 pellet mark but i hadnt noticed a drop at all. its not regulated either, just standard.i have got a slight leak coming from the inlet valve so ive gotta get her on the bench soon anyhow, but its not affecting performance, just runs the bottle down over t

cheers for the nice comments chaps, stealthy, theyre both my pals, on the left is niall, right is his son liam-i'm too shy to pose mate shay, yeah i got given my rapid last summer off a mate-a very good mate!-i mainly use it when lamping as its scopes illuminated so it works better after dark than the r10's little(but bloody lovely)simmons wtc. your boys a lucky little fella, my dad used to get me out in the open air whenever poss when i was a kid, some of my best kiddy memories are just him n me lighting fires and camping-i suppose youd call it bushcraft nowadays. your boy'll always rememb

nah mate, took the missus out for a hilltop picnic and its bath night and an early night tonight... i might be out in the morning but definitely tomorrow evening up at a posh livery where i set a couple of nets up to lie behind and snipe from. might take the ol' rapid out for a change as it goes all the best buddy wurz

sorry kyle, i only just noticed the post mate, i fill my rapid to 190-200 bar in a 400cc bottle and this keeps around 11.5 to 11.9 foot pounds, depending on pellet, but using penetrators she seems pretty consistant to me. dont worry shay, i aint posh, i inherited her from a very good pal of mine in return for a bit of work, i promise ya!! all the best, wurz

they were wearing what they've got on in the photo, and i had my manky green jumper n combats on. i pulled me snooz up round my nose when i had to stalk mine, but left the rabbit romper suit in the car this time shay, how do you mean it looks cheap, what like the wood isnt so nice or? i do like a skele stock tho, as long as they dont make the gun too front heavy, but those falcons look made for one, their lighthunters a lovely looking piece, quite well regarded too, so yours should work great with one id've thought? all the best, wurz

yep, generally the same as everyone else, morning and late afternon/evenings for me too, but shays advice is spot on, get out with your spoting scope or bino's and take a look over a few days to really suss where and when they are out. you can always leave yer gun in yer car and have a session if you time it right... all the best, wurz

i may have found the ultimate rabbiting gear. using this i can just hop into the middle of the field and take pot shots at their unsuspecting arses... http://i941.photobucket.com/albums/ad255/gurtwurz/PICT0529.jpg from thirty yds i just look like a big buck, just well armed!! all the best, wurz

hi shay buddy, yeah, i'm lovin my R10 but initially i had problems with it, like a lot of the early models apparently.when i got it, it was in .177 and i couldnt do better than a 1" grouping off a bipod with it, no matter what pellets i was using, but i put that down to me cos it'd been a while since i'd shot owt, so i persevered for a while until i inherited my rapid then i discovered, after an afternoon of getting shamrocks at 30yds that it was the gun after all... i was gonna get shot of it til i got in touch with one of the tech guys on the bsa site who offered to convert it to .20 for me,

i gotta be honest, when i started up again i must've bought nearly every pattern avaiable and i've gone back to a less camo heavy approach, but i still find it hard to not buy a new pattern now! so where did you get the digicam from aaron? just out of interest... also, i've never scared anyone, even when fully camo'd up, including facemask and i've got the south downs way crossing one of my permissions. i've felt a right prat when they've seen me walking back to the car empty handed tho, although that doesnt happen much these days, thankfully. i'd come to the conclusion that all the storie

well maybe not their first time, but their first time out rabbiting... we met up on the farm cum industrial estate where they live and do dog security from and niall showed me his new toy-a beautiful daystate mk3 lefty thumbhole .22 that he'd bought to go from plinking to hunting with, flash b*****d, and his boy liam proceeded to pull out a b.t.a.s. fx cyclone.177 that he'd just bought. i felt a tad underdressed even with my .20 r10 but we settled down to a lengthy zeroing and target practise sesh so the boys could get the feel of their new toys. once they were happy we set off to set up amb

ive had a few embryo's but to be honest i feel less guilty shooting unborn bunnies than i do really young kits, but only cos theres no eating on em... all the best, wurz -
depends how much ya wanna spend mate, bsa do some good starters, air arms springers are quite well respected in the mid range, no-one'll have much bad to say about weirauch range and i'd happily part with proper money for a theoben evolution!! what sort of bank are you gonna be willing to part with? i've got an smk that i dont need but that probably wont be doing you any favours... all the best, wurz
-
yeah, it looks a lovely spot to sort out an armchair to sit in and shoot from! although it wouldnt work for me-i've been known to fall asleep when ambushing bunnies on a summer evening... woken up to a buck virtually giving me the finger at 10 paces away, and ran off as i tried to draw a bead on him in my half asleep state... all the best, wurz

oh yeah mate, the missus is a great cook so she does a great squirrel in hoi sin sauce wrap, which is spot on-better than chinese shredded duck in my opinion the exit wound looked a lot worse than it was, but .20 does leave its mark, for sure! atb, wurz

gurtwurz replied to Phantom's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
so thatsthe truth of the volcano finally told then... best of luck tonight shay, i'm sure youll put that falcon thru its paces in no time. i'm off to help out with some culling on a small industrial estate tonight with a couple of lads who've never shot a rabbit before, so thats the blind leading the hard of hearing there then... i'm just gonna set em up ambushing off of bipods well away from each other and me and leave em to it, they've been hard at work punching paper targets, theyve just got no notion of fieldcraft yet so hopefully i can help em out in return for a night shooting somewher -

well thanks for the tips the other day fellas, i got out on sunday morning and had a look around the small bit of wood and the woodland hedgerows seperating some of the fields. i didnt see anything apart from a couple of well out of my range rabbits so i'd decided to sneakily make my way back to the motor when i chanced upon a couple of tree rats having a munch at the base of a beech tree, they'd seen me as i'd clocked them so they shot up the tree and jumped to the next one, right you buggers i thought and leant against the nearest tree and waited a sec. as id hoped, one of em poked his head u
