Who Feeds This To Dogs
patterdalejoel replied to fieldsportsman's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
i put some boiled rice in with some rabbit in the mincer, i just did it to stop the dog clogging up as whole rabbs seem to be quite hard to pass through. i mix it 50/50 with chicken mince etc every night for her feed. also used veg etc for same reason, not really for nutritional reasons. -
the pub next door kept hundreds of rabbits in shit and one day left and the rspca came and collected them, but there was a couple left you couldnt even geta look at they were that wild and that was just in a garden. i think it would work but you would need to let a few go to cover losses as i would say 40% would probable die. i would not go to a pet shop, expensive, go to a local livestock market, you can get rabbits for a quid each esp this time of year, fill ya car up and crack on!

how much are the bantams and midi skinners? -
if you watch that customs uk the majority of them coming in the country are students who come in and are never seen again...... so why let more in?

should be top lads, wasnt my idea for the box traps although i did catch most rabbits on the tops there was no cherries in the rabbs or anything, down below there were cherries and a dead baby bunny on top so i think a few more weeks and that might be it

steel..they were the real deal... they would of been expensive and a lot of effort involved to get them in, and they are just wasted and left to rot........... good fun using them like we did tho. and northernlite when we were right on the tops it was sunny but there was deffo a chilly wond if you dtood still for too long you got very cold.... worth it tho

what peoples thoughts on lead shot in dog food. when we go out we have started shooting a few rabbis which i just take legs off to eat and throw rest to ferret, but i have a mincer which i put bruised ones through for dog food. is it safe for dog to have lead shot? have a freind who minces pheasant legs up and he says its fine but want other opinions lol.

should of said, we beat the wood out with the aim of dropping them into the boxes. we got 5 extra from doing this and it was great fun seeing the dogs, and there was rabbits everywhere. i was nearest the fence and could here the trap dropping them in. great fun. we then unset them as whoever put them in hadnt bothered and it was full of dead uns that had been left to die which isnt nice.

just got pics of dog really.... all i could be arsed photographing as i was trying to get some good vids of courses but didnt get many.... best one was the dog marking then bushing a rab out some reeds then coursing it and nailing it..... made all the walking and carrying shit worthwhile that 3 second chase we opened some well used dropboxes on the edge of a wood leading up a big slope... then bushed it out with the 2 dogs and us lot stood on a beating line... ferreting out a couple and 1 or 2 with the gun.... the dog was absolutely f****d she was running around non stop had to

i think its well worth it for the money you will save and less farting about. i got a massive hobart local for £100 and it would mince anything, eats through rabbit heads no bother

love this, looks like a proper set whippet in that top pick. i got a half x and if you soak her through lol you can see she has an exact whippet build, she is just a rough haired whippet, but she runs on some rough ground and hasnt been inured yet touch wood, to say how fragile she feels. hows yours doing now? mine is very smart around the house, sometimes i will see her just sat watching the hens in amazement, or with her head tilted listening to the news but she is a bitch for recall she will come back when shes ready when shes on the trail of something. atb. -
is it light sussex bantam size or belgian bantam size

this comment is made and it always makes me laugh, nothing personal, i just dont know why a pedigree bit of paper makes them more valuable, id rather pay more for a mongrel lurcher puppy than a brainless pedigree dog It's the fact that it's nearly a grand! Oh well my pedigree working springers must be 'brainless' then Joel i know but surely its as ludicrous paying a grand for a pedigree "pet" dog than a x bred one, ?????? not saying your pedigree dogs are brainless, but are they smarter than a non ped??? i think its useful having pedigrees to trace ancestors etc, but people seem to

Once Or Twice A Day?
patterdalejoel replied to Gaz_1989's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
my bitch wouldnt eat twice a day. she gets fed 7-10pm and if i fed her in the morning she just wouldnt be hungry enough to eat it. i would like her to eat twice a day as i dont think she eats enough, but i cant make her eat anymore.
