I seen smallish dogs like whippets made a nuisance of themselves on large quarry and cause the animal enough bother to make a mistake and loss its footing and hang on long enough until the cavalry arrived to finish the job But without weight behind it your chances are decided on luck more than ability ,

Nice to see when a pup starts coming around, the thing is sexuality brings sensuality where a dog or bitch starts craving more contact and becomes social at the same time, it also brings focus and drive,it's a time where old timers would watch for to start training in earnest, best of luck with her

Saluki whippet, saluki collie Whippet, Saluki beddyhound , full saluki, only for big things and various shit rollers of many forms

This could get really silly now because there's is no way I can prove it and no way you can disprove,

Have you trained many saluki lurchers buddy? Yes buddy ,

A dog is a dog is a dog, they all shit , eat and shag in a familiar fashion, how they differ is temperment, from a rottie to an itialian greyhound, they are only tuned into different vibrations of movement , On here you will hear my dog won't play this or play that, no he may not but just because he won't doesn't mean he can't or he wouldn't have , dogs who have a history of expressing prey instinct in a certain fashion on a certain prey animal are channeled to a certain vibration of prey shape form and movement, that's how dogs become masters in their craft , they don't learn by thinki

Does a dog need to be disciplined to be social and fit into life with humans , yes or no, ?? Does it need to or is there something in you that feels it needs to
-
The only basic training a dog needs is for me to make the dog believe the sun shines out of my ass end, I manage him so he can't f**k up and I make him believe my voice turns the world He's born social , I just keep him that way

Dogs do a lot of things to themselves and other dogs but it don't make me believe it's either the right way or the only way, rolling in shite , and eating shite are two I can think off that aren't that well taught through canine wise ? Trust is earned its true,I never felt that disciplining a pup for what is to it natural canine behaviour is the way to go for building trust, pup has an emotional attraction to whatever stimulates it, it's not thinking its driven energetically to make contact with objects in its environment, so when a dog starts making contact and pulling at me when they reach

The pup has resistance in and around your space, can be fear or could be the lead, Fear is broken down by a desire, you can go back to basis all you like but if you don't address the underlining resistance little will change, feed only in your space, getting the pup up close and personal, take it out on a long long nylon line with a d clasp secured on the end to the collar, keep the line on in the day time, it will resolve the tension between the both of you when it's time to go home, Don't discipline the pup in your space, sounds simple but pups remember been whooped for jumping up or pu

Keep the pup guessing, don't walk in straight line, give a signal when you intend to give him a mouthful of grub not a sound a hand signal so he has to keep an eye on you and don't fill him up till the walk is nearly ended, feed all that's days grub on the walk so he's hungry If he venturing too far ahead stop in your tracks, don't recall let him figure out that coming back gets him fed and the walk resumes, do this intermittently during the walk Make the pup heel while out, giving him the heel command while walking off lead along side , feed while walking , the longer he can heel in the f

That's a good point about more outgoing pups bird, a shy nervy pup is lookin at the world through a self survival state of mind and at the same time a ballsey outgoing type has a can do conifident attitude Personally I don't like to put a pup in situations or environments he can't emotionally deal until I feel he's ready, building conifidence all the while with a tail up devil may care attitude when meetimg new objects or environments , Never felt a pup was ever lacking as a grown dog with a slower more relaxed upbringing where trust was high on the agenda,

On the flip side it can be hard to bond with a pup like that out in town when it's fear instincts (cars noise people) are getting triggered constantly, If your going to socialise in that manner, I would also use quiet woodland walks as a way of destressing and bonding in a natural setting, prey making instincts triggered through walks generate the bonding process

Not sure about planing or that side of it but for me a wildlife choice was newts frogs bugs or fish, Fish depending on type will eat like sharks anything, as far as helping wildlife newts and bugs etc give far more back to nature

For what it worth bud, I buy a long roll of nylon and cut lengths of it and tie a D clasp from the hardware on it, it's waterproof and very cheap compared to shop bought ones, When a pup is taken out the line is dragged behind him I don't hold him back on it , it's only to manage him with not for recall or training as such , I feed him out so the pup is always focused on me anyway, we just walk, no introduction to game what I want is to secure a positive bonding attachment done through months of social countryside exposure, just me and him laying down a history uninterrupted by corrections

A long line can work with a dog but not in the way folk believe, the dog is rewarded by staying rooted to the spot where the bird was flushed, the line just sets up a situation where the dog is rewarded for stopping with the shot bird been returned and given to the dog in that same spot at the end of the day all the dog wants is a bird in its mouth, when chasing doesn't work the dog is open to alternatives that will, it's creating an environment where the dog is successfull

I like that it makes a lot of sense....same with anything you just have to have faith in the dogs breeding that its going to do what comes natural when put in that position you dont need to keep " trying it out " every 5 minutes just to put your mind at ease.....selection/breeding/schooling/showtime in that order regardless what breed or what task.Exactly mate I've always had that theory with whatever type of dog I've had.Even if I did do bite work with her week in week out its not going to make her a better dog in the long term anyway. What are the other mastiff breeds like for this work, ? Wh

The main conditioning as far as importance in a man stopper is conditioning the mind of the dog to associate the physical pain inflicted by the decoy as part of flow process, the tension release, The decoy creates tension , the grabbing and shaking when the dog takes hold is the release of said tension, when a pup is introduced to training its carefully managed so he is exposed to a little discomfort each time , Driven dogs don't experience pain as we do, same as a bulldog rolled, pain just becomes part of the flow experience, is also why joe soap struggle to separate 2 determined dogs in

That large mutt wasnt up to much, he was in his element when the bloke turned and fled in other words acted prey like but when he stood and faced acted predator like the dog reverted to barking which showed an element of fear in his makeup, Proper dog should be stimulated by the aggressive stance of an object as much as a submissive one, it was more of a territorial display than anything, I doubt he would be man aggressive outside his area,
-
A lot of sensitive types will start out like this , catlike as such, another element with sensitive types is if them were ever confronted for mouthing, it can regress them in this aspect of prey instinct, I wouldn't worry bout it at this stage the more confident the pup becomes in itself the more predator like it acts, kitten like feet first, bulldog like, mouthful ,

The foundation laid up til now is what the present or future relationship rests on If the dog has experienced too much resistance in its Interactions with you and is tuning you out, it's damn near impossible to erase, the first cut is the deepest bud

If you were at a dig and one of the terriers started screaming as they often do, What would you say it was fear / excitement or do we ever pay it any attention only to tell the dog to shout the f**k up, The fact is the dog is anticipating action ,can you imaging taking a terrier out to a dig everyday but not letting it use the energy obviously built up inside, that's what going on in your dog , If we shift slightly our awareness of whats going in side the dog , we get a clearer picture of the issues the dog is dealing with

Prong collar can work if it's used right but found it better used as a detour not as a full stop meaning to use it to channel a dog into a different expression of work, rather then a complete cease of all activity

Dogs by nature are attracted to objects which trigger the predator or prey element in them, this can be dogs, cars , people , cats, cows , leaves blowing in the wind , you name it anything All or anything can energise the dog ,( think attraction as energy ) the dog is energised and as we know from science energy must be grounded , it must run to ground, and how a dog grounds out energy is by grabbing and shaking, (think fox dog screaming to get going ) it's the same energy in the fox dog as in yours, same state of mind but the fox dog has a release , unlike your mutt , If the d

I like the 3rd pic down, with the tail up and the look in his eye, keeping him in the conifident state leads to a secure adult Best of luck with pup
