  3. yes i have.My six year old jack bitch had a litter of seven pups. They where about 3/4 weeks old and our las went out to check them just before tea time.My bitch fell out of her bed and flopped onto the floor. She went stiff in her legs and shook like hell.We thought shed had a fit or something .Straight to the vets. One big calcium jab,ten minutes and she was fine. Calcium tablems when they take from then on like you

  6. Stick the ferrets under,it wont hurt em.Those rats will come out like bullets.Ring the shed with rabbit netting then no rats will escape at all. Smoking em out is just as good but still ring the shed with rabbit mesh

  8. Not really, unless your trapping mink or stoats. You need to be setting out on runs for rabbits

  12. Woodga, a Six inch peg is enough for anyman
  13. I for one would dearly like you to continue contributing to these trapping discussions.Your knowledge is invaluable to all of us,we are all hear to learn something.Your right in what you said about sets in heavily populated areas and sets in out the way places, you have to be careful and use your common sense. The sets i use do work very well(the americans have used them for years)and they are very cheap to use and that is the main reason i use them.If a bodygrip gets stolen i am loosing £3.50,if i get a kania stolen i am loosing over £30.That was my point to the above post,to try and save p
  14. Well said chalkwalker and blob on.When trapping full time you have to use your brains and initiative. Our government makes it very difficult for us trappers because they domt take us seriously. What we need is a good trapping organization ran by real trappers who use traps for there living
  15. Why dont you try making an appointment with the Chief contstable and explain that you where defending yourself as everone in this country, has the right to do. That way you might get your guns back without cost, after all he might know nowt about the circumstances.
  16. This is my method of catching squirrels in woodland. You need only take a few nails, tacks and a good axe. The top picture shows How i attach the bodygrip to the tree.About six inches above the trap i tack a piece of sweat corn cob to the tree.I then push furn branches through the two crossed nails which are approx a foot above the trap position. These branches rest on the edge of the bodygrip and makes a tunnel. Another piece of sweat corn cob nailed to the tree just below the trap set and you are ready to kill your squirrels. When you make a kill the trap releases from the small tacks and swin
  17. Good on ya j.D.Hows the dog doing now mate??
  18. Spring, summer autumn or winter, all weathers and no water.I really dont think that they ever need water even in mid summer. And my cages where always dry because there shit was dry, like fox shite
  19. You allready have half of it Moley you old git
  20. They are a good trap chalkwarren but people like me with very little money( ) cant afford those traps so i use a very similar set except i use a bodygrip instead of a kania.I must admit they are a very humane and well made trap which is good for many situations Good pictures by the way..
  21. Yes your right there chalkwarren.A few twigs iether end of your tunnel is a good idea.Mind you it says nothing in the law about how far your trap has to be inside the tunnel therefor a good barrister would keep you out of the jail house
  22. Dont give your ferrets water so they stop pissing as much.I had ferrets for twenty five years and never once did they have water in the hutch. They where fed meat, you couldnt do this with dry food.
  23. This is the full set up.You can use these holders and tunnels anywhere no matter how hard or soft the ground is
