  1. More set wires Moley,Whitby Rich.Take note of these wires as you might want to snare a fox one day
  2. Heres a few fox wires set up under fences
  3. I set a few wires along a couple of fence lines where a farmer had seen a pair of foxes the other night. This is the result. Hes my mate Trev from Hull with the second fox of the day
  4. All rabbit/deer/hare skins, guts and dead skems or anything that i dont use go out to attract foxes.
  5. Thats your lot Dave,i cant take no more. By the way, your brother inlaw has been trying to poach on my land again :realmad: He got caught AGAIN
  6. If you take some bigger copper pipe Smudge, (1/4")you can make really good rocking eyes with it.All you need do is cut it into 1/4" lengths then take a 3" nail and pass it through the centre of the 1/4" length of copper tube. Then squeeze the copper pipe in your vice so the nail is squeezed right up to the top.Pull the nail out, drill a 3/16 hole in the centre of the flattened pipe and you have a top class fox snare eye.
  7. Moley your man for advice on that i think
  8. Ive got a mate coming through from hull tomorrow.Ill do some pics while we are out and about tomorrow lads
  9. I prefer the gun to the nets unless its long nets, then its good sport.I hate putting purse nets on only to bolt one rabbit or even dig and no bolts. :realmad: Even better s to snare the little buggers
  10. How much are they terriermaid??
  11. Wont do your ferrets any harm what so ever, infact there as good for a ferret as a rabbit
  12. RobW71,could you put a picture up of your bitch please.ime looking for another little bitch to replace my old bitch.I cant breed my old dog through an accident years ago so ime very interested in a bitch pup
  13. Forget about setting the trap around the holes.start setting it to the side of the runs or about 20yds from the burrows.Use sweat apples as bait, plenty in the back of the cage.Acouple of slivers infront of the cage and one or two slivers just inside the entrance. If you dont make a catch in the morning, take the old bait from the front and entrance of the trap and throw it into the back of the cage and put fresh apple at the front and entrance. Be patient as cage traps arent the best or quickest way to take rabbits. With patients and fresh bait you will catch em though
  14. My mates just bought a .17hmr and wanted to try it out.A farmer i know has been having trouble with hares so i took this opportunity to thin a few out.He shot the hares between 50 & 150yds.I was well impressed with this little gun, very accurate and very quick. He shot a couple of long range rabbits with it,it done the job but i thought it was abit too much.As far as i have seen its the perfect hare cartridge, killing them on the spot
  15. Use little nuts like me and Woodga do
  16. Ill get to it Midnight.Ill take some pics tomorrow if its not too wet

  19. Ive just finnished reading "A Bird in The Hand" by doxhope off this site. Its a book about young Bill who grows up in a Northumberland town surrounded by countryside and Birds.Bill introduces us to a hole host of old time bird trappers and breaders who show young Bill the ways of the Bird catcher of old.Its full of usefull info and tales of bird catching with nets, traps and lime. Its a hell of a read(i couldnt put the bugger down)and i would recommend it to anyone remotely interested in British birds. Its a credit to ya Bill
