  1. Any chance the primary pipes from boiler are passing close to a trap causing evaporation,it will be a trap problem, nothing to do with new or old machine it's just water getting sucked out of traps ,or evaporation, the waters only there to stop the smells coming back up.
  2. I've seen a dish washer empty kitchen sink traps in bungalows there's lots of. Different syphonage.Tape the top of washing machine stand pipe won't effect drainage at all I do it as a matter of course.
  3. You could be on to something there.. If they're all tied into the same waste, something like flushing the chain on the toilet could be emptying a trap or traps somewhere along the system. You could fit an air admittance valve somewhere in the system to stop it happening, I've seen them used on jobs before. Not being a plumber, I couldn't say where would be the right place to put one though! Come across it a few times if the pipe work cannot easily be changed I generally change the trap that's getting siphoned , for a hep trap,it doesn't need water to seal.but the air admittance valve wo
  4. Wouldn't use anything smelly like that around the kennels to often to be honest,it smells nice to us but what's a dogs nose 40 times stronger.then expect them to go and find rabbits using there nose.
  5. A understanding wife. They have to put up with some strange goings on often pay second fiddle to a skinny dog and flea ridden rabbits.
  6. Borderscot your wrong..... 48 is old
  7. My whippet would smash it...
  8. Is this a chupacabra or a clever hoax 3 toes on the front feet, two teats and humps on the back legs, same woman reckons DNA tests had no matches to known species.but was close to a Mexican Wolf x coyote.when ever they get tested by official American organisations they just say its a mangy coyote and won't return the body. Even though the farmers that find them know mange when they see it,and say the animal wasn't sick or signs of it scratching its self bald, ment to be able to run faster than a greyhound. What you reckon.....
  9. He's got to be keen, any one can go out when they want too,it's making time when you don't want to.
  10. Same here my first dog couldn't catch a rabbit in a pet shop. Now I have a standard if the dog isn't near it I cut my losses, never had a perfect dog, might never have one, but it must justify the effort I put in, and I have to enjoy watching it.
  11. You may have something there! I'll have to take a look. Unfortunately, I'm not even in the country just now, never mind the house! The sh*t that I sit and think about when we're not busy... I have mentioned the washing machine to Mrs Me before now, but as it never seems to be shut off, we were reluctant to believe it was the culprit! I'll get Mrs me to try what you have suggested. Cheers It will be something on those lines, first one though is find where washing machine connects to waste pipe if the grey pipe from it drops into the 1/12 pipe even if there's a trap on it ta
  12. If your sure its not through lack of use, then check how washing machine connects to waste pipe. Then it will be suction, if you fill a sink then pull a plug does the other sink gurgle ,when washing machine is pumping do sinks gurgle,it might need to be a combination to empty if it's not happing often,ie washing machine emptying same time as sink emptying.
  13. Sounds like one of the traps to sink or washing machine are emptying, could be through lack of use of one ,water in trap evaporates. Or suction of one can empty another if there all connected to same pipe.It can be hard to tell where it's coming from once its there,if the pipe from washing machine goes into a 1 1/2 pipe make sure you have it well taped with insulation tape.

  15. While we're all speaking our mind can the mods not start deleting the "who's going lampin threads" I mean if its that much of a novelty to go out......wouldn't mind but most are back on by 9 saying they didn't catch nowt.
  16. You would have to be a delicate soul not to post in case some one disagrees with you,or full of self importance. No one disagreeing as ever ruined a thread, people's reaction to being disagreed with ,ruins threads. Lol
  17. It's gone very quite, shame really when I first came on here if a topic got locked it would be 5 pages back in a hour, now it's still on first page next day. Lots of reasons why I would think...... Thing if though if there's a topic any way interesting or sensible and you still don't bother putting in your 10 pence worth your just adding nails to the coffin. First thing I would do to right it would to be stopping guests,if you have to log on to read your a lot more likely to join in,where as most people now just read as guests to take away the temptation to reply.
  18. Was thinking about this last night, long wax jackets all the rage in late 80s.would love another, could be a bit snaggy going over barbed wire but great to keep rain and dirt of at least when you took it of your trousers wouldn't be covered in rabbit hair ect. Any one know if any one still making them?
  19. I was running some land the other night, near perfect last rabbit of the night, ran straight into a rock 6-4-2 ft,that had been pushed into the bottom of the hedge.luckily the old bitch has lost a good bit of pace or it could have been the end. When your times up its up until then you have to make the most of it,man or beast.
  20. I'd have one if they could give this kind of work
  21. Freshly cut maze fields are about the only things I won't have a slip on,give me the shivers looking at all them spikes.
  22. Councils buy land for them to keep there horses on ,pay for food, funny old world.
  23. Racers wouldn't have much in the way of training I'd of thought, you would need to start from scratch stay away from things to chase Untill it comes back no questions asked in garden park ect. As hot meat says no harm in finding someone to help you out,gun dog trainer might help you out with a few tips .
  24. yeh but when put a strand only 6in off the floor, thats a c**t trick. Its not stopping cattle or sheep from doing anything at that height . fact .Iam not say cut his fence +wire down when its put at (normal) height, if your dog gets a wack its just 1 of them things, but 6in off the floor i would cut the feckin thing deff . It's to stop cattle putting there heads under the fence to eat the other side, some might even crawl under. At the end of day barb wire is just part of the country side,if you don't like it don't go.
