  1. Hit and miss my self, find if I use the edge of a stone I get decent results, once it's sharp try and advoid bones and give it a rub on steel every time you use it.With the steel I find if I hold it with the handle at the top the bottom pressed on a chopping board so it's vertical I can get the angle pretty good on the knife. Waving it around like you see the butchers do is ok if you can do it.
  2. I feed mine biscuit as a mixer with meat, and having used gain puppy and sapling, I prefere it to the gain 28 or the red mills racer, so now have the older dogs on it too.
  3. Bred a lurcher first time at 8, she did a hours road work Untill 8 weeks and spat out pups.no probs. When I asked my vet he laughed and said your dogs fitter than most pet dogs at 2.
  4. Lurcherxlurcher would be best way to describe them
  5. Glad the whippets back up and going again.
  6. Thanks lads. Thanks skycat for that pm very helpful as always. She's alive and will enjoy her retirement as long as she excepts it,and I'm going to be a bit fitter by end of season
  7. Yes she's very do or die,she has a old shoulder injury and a toe of, so road works not a option, but thought I had her coming along nicely been building up the numbers on the lamp and we've been enjoying our selves.Had a second lurcher that I didn't enjoy a bit to half hearted so when a good pet home came I took the chance and gave her away.E ven without a dog still don't regret that decision though.
  8. Yes ,she was going to be coming in the house the end of this season any way,but it's going to be sooner now. Pups are nice pics don't do them justice,11 weeks today. Out for 5 hours yesterday come back and carry on running around playing,I've brought in pups take them for a walk around a field or two and they sleep for hours.
  9. Took pups out for there second morning with the ferrets yesterday, good to see one pup giving a good mark at first bury.Starting to learn to respect the nets a bit only had to untangle one pup. Rabbits were bolting well ended with 15 would have had double but a ferret found her way down the hedge a couple of 100 yards to a warren i was intending to do,looked down the hedge to see rabbits hoping around so picked up the ferret and called it a day(didn't realize at the time but good job i did). The old bitch did a good job picking up a couple that had missed the nets, did miss one though, just as
  10. Like that little red bitch, looks well to.
  11. would i f**k,anyone who leaves tht kind of money lying around unattended, deserves to lose it. i have found loads of stuff, i stay near a high school. must have handed in at least 3 phones,a mini disc player thing sony, a school bag bus passes.into the school office.always get a nice thank you from linda lol god knows if it ever gets back to there owners or not. Cannot remember now what he got as a reward couple of grand I think....That must be 20 years ago now it was a lot of money then...it's a lot now.

  15. Heard of a stable lad at one of the big race horse auctions found a carrier bag with 250,000 in it he handed it in
  16. Ha yes looks like a lurcher that last pic, nice type. Keep trying to get the mrs to move to Scotland. Edited to add not just the mrs me too
  17. You have some lovely ground for mooching for sure, what's the fawn dog?
  18. I don't agree, sorry.. The one of the fox suckling got my vote too. I for one ain't qualified to judge a photo based on its technical aspects, so image content is everything. Give me a half decent picture of a subject like that over something like a technically perfect, arty close up picture of a leaf anyday! I can see things like that with my own eyes every day, I can't see things like that fox shot.. Agree 100% got my vote as well some of the others you could replicate yourself maybe not as good technically but to my untrained eye the same! you could spend a long time trying to get a pictur
  19. Just worked out how to watch the video. No better sport and no better way for a dog to learn to really work with ferrets, concentrate and be sharp. Worth a month of watching rabbits hit nets in thick hedges, must find some open burys again.
  20. Like a wall. The whole thing is only 2 or 3 years old. The mouse theory was discussed before, but then, like I say, it can be ok for weeks, that's what throws me. It is ALWAYS worst in a morning, and if we try heating on in an evening, I would say it doesn't stink. Think there may be an evaporation issue, maybe??? Frustrating me now I have all your suggestions, as I'm away at work at the moment, and can't get stuck in to have a look for myself. Thanks for all your theories tho, all very welcome. I could give you a few more to check is there a vent on the 4" pipe outside,
  21. I've seen a dish washer empty kitchen sink traps in bungalows there's lots of. Different syphonage.Tape the top of washing machine stand pipe won't effect drainage at all I do it as a matter of course. Why do you tape the stand pipe if it doesn't affect the drainage? Lol!! It'll get you a non compliance statutory rectification notice if anyone one from WRAS or the local water authority inspects your work. Because I've seen to many let smells back up the pipe.
