Day 6 TROUT ARE A MYTH. Serious though river in full flood ideal worming conditions. One trouble I'm having is I'm letting worm drift down river but then when i start reeling back in realize its actually stuck some where and ive just been letting out line Tried middle river up against banks where water was slower whirling around. Tried a bit of bubble and fly and a bit of spinning lol. Bearing in mind it was Sunday and its meant to be a great trout river didn't see another lad

That dog must need plenty of polish on its collar to keep it aerodynamic.

Its a complacted buissness. It sounds like even allowing for a 2 hour walk and a hour in field pups are going to spend a long time in kennels,The more time in, the more running around they will do when out When this pup started throwing a leg i decided,i would try a differant vet.Every one recomened this one vet of 3 tracks lectures other vets on running dogs ect. After excaming her he asked my set up .kennel and run or 2 acres,He didnt lye on the floor convosing,in fact he said just what my old timer vet would have said. Two weeks lead and kennel,One week lead work followed by a hour in fi

Dogs all non related. Ilike fast dogs with a bit of go so you expect them to get injured when they start there first session.Thats why i think its so important to have them out and about so much.If it was in the kennel till one it would be dead first time it go`s lamping. Tomo Youve had your share of bad luck then. My thoughts have been its just bad luck,The dogs should be living the dream Have my self well set up here except fencing. I make lots of mistakes, running when i shouldnt where i shouldnt but as you say you know that when you go home and think about it. But with these i dont

skycat i dont always agree with you,but i do respect what you think. Forgetting the bitch getting knocked over, that was incredibly unlucky, the woman who hit her said she never saw her she wasn't even on the road kind of half in half out. But to have 3 dogs all hurt in roughly the same place, broken fabbella bone, snapped ligament&stifle, now muscle damage around the same place. Is that bad luck or is something going on. Is there any difference in pups coming out of kennel with cold muscles and running around a small garden like they do,and doing the same in a big garden?

Have kennels and runs,Just seems a crime to have them in them when im there, but things aint working out the way they are. The other pups on day 4 of kennel and walking on lead shes already cracking up.lol Have a good idea a cat led her onto road seen him twice since going the way i saw the bitch coming back. As i say its a field short of putting up deer fencing...but for the first time a dog to go on road and couldnt have been there a few seconds. See other dogs that have a snooze on the road Edited to add cheers bosun, You talk sence

lol i must of used up a lot of luck somewhere without noticing. Would have given up ages of go if i could. At a stage now where i cannot live with it cannot live without it

I was just reading the post about the dog having a leg of,and it struck a cord with me. My trouble is i just cannot rear a pup over the last couple of years, ive had 2, breakdown on me. You can put that down to bad luck,So i breed my own reared them like they were going to make me millions, Kept 2 never really enjoyed pups that much but i enjoyed these 2,heard lads say you cannot train 2 pups ect, i found it quite the opposite. The pups where always ferreting with me ,one stood out,if she had of been 14 months old her concentration would of been good, she was snatching rabbits out of holes 2

8-9 In morning, done a couple of afternoons, lads say thats a waste of time. Acouple of times i could see fish lads say thats a waste of time.lol Every one ive asked has a slightly differant way of fishing worms some let it drift others stop it then reel it in a bit every minute, another drops it in over bank then walks along slowly lifting it up and down. So they cannot be that fussy?

Day 5 fi.... not calling it fishing anymore more drowning worms. Running out of excuses now to wife and kids, told them the river was to wet today...
-
So am i the only one that can say what there standard is??
-
When i think of a standard it has nothing to do with training though, thats the owners standards not the dogs. On another note can some one that says, heres my pup no matter how shit it ends up,i will keep it anyway. Then start judging other peoples dogs? My standards are a dog that catches stuff, not just on dark windy nights, even collies can do that, but on nights when you can see your own shadows no dilly dallying then rabbits are straight in.Then you see what dog you have. Pace to turn a hare when shooting, and heart lots of heart, must retrieve a fox. Ferret to a decent standard. If it ha

Good post that. All the super dogs and super owners,Yet when a lamping compition was run,it was won by a dog out of a rescue kennel, catching a mixie rabbit one year.lol.

Sad c++ts cannot even type what they think to some one.Instead pm story's about them,"Don't be he's friend because" ffs

Matching season nearly here now,so we can see who can"put the most gear away"lol My dog just turned 8 months so too old now, but hasnt been beat yet...
-
So it dosnt make any differance how fast the worms going down river? The other day a little river that was clear i could see trout swimming away from the worm
-
Thought id catch a few trout this season... Just had my 4th session,2 packs of hooks and enough lead weight to sink a small boat gone. Still no trout.... Been using worms on small rivers,Good bit of colour today. How fast should i be letting the worm drift,It either seems to be going flat out or not moving. Found a few deep still bits are you better putting a worm in there and leaving it there didnt seem to be moving at all in there though. Any tips please.

Says most about the person a lot of traviling lot of work. Ilike poping out for a few runs,Like to go to good places when weathers right, even then 20-30 enough for me. Once it all becomes about numbers though enjoyment goes out of the window, for me any way.
-
It takes all sorts I suppose..................................now that statement could have a more than one meaning Most just want to enjoy there sport, and don t have any interest in photos ,challanges ,egos and proving others wrong. As long as there honest about what there own dogs can or cannot do who cares.

True, living breathing animals have good and bad days. If it was that easy you could go down the bookies today and back every favourite and they would all win.

early morning walks.
-
Most dogs are average thats what average is lol. Its up to the owner to make the most of it.
-
Ive seen a dog owned by a messer, was lucky if it was out once a week,Yet it had more natural talent than any dog i ever seen. Some people are easly impressed with photos of a dog and rabbits, when in truth you can catch them in big numbers with very average dogs.

If its a permant job well worth paying the extra for the creasote stakes instead of the dipped ones.cost about double though. The horse mesh is good as well but expensive as well.
