Very unlikely to get an open cert with your first application. Took me two years before they opened mine up but no harm in asking when they come round. -

What is it with some people and Labs, walking my 1 year old springer in the park throwing him blind retrieve dummys in the long grass when this fat b*****d of a lab comes bounding up to him tail wagging then stops sniffs and properly goes for him, Good thing my springer is young and fit as he just dodged out of the way and fortunately for me the lab was such a fat f**kin mess fed on a daily diet of chocolate cakes and Sunday roasts it couldn't get near him but it wasnt messing full attack mode. I've found 17gr Hornady Vmax to be the best round for my CZ, it is the nature of the thing though with a 17HMR meat damage is unavoidable unless head shot. I am surprised at beyond 100 yards they are managing to run, it may be you are only clipping them as any shot to the neck,head,chest or even gut shot @ 100yards would put the rabbit down.

It w It use to be law that you have to report to the police if you hit and kill a dog as they where under license but the license has gone now so there is no legal obligation to report to the police and in general it was beneficial for the car owner to do so as the car owner could then sue as the owner of the dog let it be out of control. I dont know the old laws for cats but there is a owner for one if it is feed and cared for by said person and if the cat has been to the vets they would be classed as said owner I know of cases where cats have moved home and owner can not get it back

In terms of domestic cats I may be wrong but are cats not in the eyes of the law can not be "owned" as defined in legal terms in the same way a dog is. Again this may be just rumour but that is why I thought its a legal obligation to report to the police if you knock over and kill a dog but not a cat??? So if that is the case and the animal is causing damage then I believe you would have the rights to shoot this cat. To be 100% though I would just give BASC a ring if you feel uncertain. ATB

I'm sure it does mate. I never walk through the middle of cattle i dont know.........no chance will you get me out in the field with the things. Even horses i have a bit of a fear of....anything that size could kill you and not even know it. I'll stay on the other side of the fence.... they never bothered me for years and years, lamped through fields full of them no bother, then i saw that happen to that old lady that morning and my thinking soon changed, fook that no bunny is worth my funeral cost What happened????

Not the shooting community bud, life is like this doesn't matter if it's hunting fishing or playing golf there's always some tw*t ready to do you a wrong un. Take people out give them an understanding of what it's all about but just be careful who.....
