On the command of 'hisssssss get it!' one of my terriers jumps up starts to scan the room for a spider to catch. I lift him up to reach ones that are too far up the wall for him to catch Good dog!

Emeera - you seem to have some sort of ethics regarding unnecessary breeding of dogs/homing dogs, which is commendable. You say you are now going to breed your old terrier bitch? If she really is old, think carefully about whether it is the right thing to do and whether you will realistically get good homes for them. It is easy to end up with more dogs than you really need/have time to devote time to, threfore setting them on the unwanted/surplus to requirements treadmill.........be realistic.

Emeera - the replies you got on here are only telling the truth. By the way, if the bitch is likely to lift a small dog, best to keep it muzzeld and on a lead. Your other post shows it and the saluk running free and unmuzzled. If it lifted my small dogs, it and you, would be in trouble........... If you really cannot keep it, best to have it speyed and found a new responsible home. Good luck.

advice when feeding meat
littlefish replied to camokid's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
Question on the above post: Does anyone think it is important to be able to remove things (including food)from their dogs mouth? Me, myself, I like to be able to do this incase my dogs pick up things that may not be safe, for example out walking a dog can pick up sticks, golf balls, KFC bones thrown about by dirty bolloxes who wouldn't think to use a bin, dirty scraps of unkown origin and dead animals etc. I use a strong 'leave it!' command if he has not already picked it up, sometimes with a quick flick round the ass with the lead, if necessary, or 'thank you!' command as i remove it from t -
I had the front ones off my 8 year old terrier because they regularly got injured, meaning the dog was in pain and out of action for several weeks at a time. The dog was at the vet for a couple of hours and well recovered in 10 days......never looked back.....£ well spent.

any thots or suggestions

My dog has spots like that too, i think it comes from running through long wet grass at this time of year, if it gets out of hand and too itchy or weepy, i wash him in head and shouders shampoo, it really cools his skin and drys up the rash better than anything i have ever got from the vet. He also has a small umbilical hernia for all his life (he is 10 years old now). It is very small but your dogs one looks bigger, i that was my dog i would have an opinion from another vet, i wouldn't like to have to deal with an emergency strangulation etc, or indeed that catching on anything. He look -
These sort of people need to be behind bars, they care nothing for animals and even less for the laws that most decent people live by No, these sort of people need to have their hands smashed!

Training class sounds like a good safe option, the opportunity to meet loads of dogs in a controlled environment. Best done while it is still young and able to learn. Otherwise keep it on a lead, a halti type lead if necessary, and reward with treats or strokes when it is calm when introduced to other dogs and people. An out of control dog running loose and leaping about in public is asking for trouble.

Interesting pics. Hope he feels better with that tooth gone. Was he sedated? -
Good luck with them, what size of tank are they in and what sort of filteration are you using? I find that if you don't change too much water too often and don't over feed them and don't over crowd them that they do better. Also a lump of tufa rock in a freshwater set up (the type usually used in marine tanks) helps to stabilize the ph leading to a better environment for them to thrive. I feed mine 3-4 times a week and change 30% of water about once every 4-6 weeks. I have 6 congo tetras, 3 goldfish and one ancistrus (for housekeeping duties) in a 4 foot tank with undergravel filtration.

you are the first person i have ever heard say that they have seen an agresive boxer that must be the same boxer because it is not in theyre nature to be agresive i have one all he wants to do is play he gets attacked by little spoilt terriers all the time A loose boxer bounced all over me and my two leaded terriers last week looking to ?'play' ?. He ended up with one latched on to each of his slobbery chops. The bloke letting it run 100 yds away from him then put it on the lead. I hate dogs running out of control in public parks, it is irresponsible and asking for trouble, regardles

Consider laser surgery. It is very liberating.

Maybe your dog is sensitive to wheat in the dried food. Are you giving it any milk to drink? Milk used to run the guts right through mine - what a mess. Try him on raw.

I'm generally not a fan of that kind of horse but that Lion King is well put together for his type. I'd have the clippers at his legs though -
