  1. Dunno about rifles but the smallest pistol calibre was the Fromm 2mm. That's 0.08". Great for shooting spiders indoors at point blank range. Ric

    Dog or Owner

I read a letter from a vet in the Independent a few years back. He said that the dogs most often brought in to be tranquillised, castrated or put down were Labs and flat coats. Big intelligent working dogs bought by ya-de-da twits who shut the beast up all day, take it down the road to crap on someone else's front lawn then act all upset because the dog gets bored, wrecks the furniture and turns aggressive. Wouldn't you? Owner or dog? As said above, if some berk buys the wrong dog for the life it's going to lead it's the owners fault. The writer went on to say that the dogs he saw least were

  4. Out with my first wife one night. Somebody asked if I was henpecked. She said "No way. I'm cock pecked more like."
  5. May be a bit too far but you could do a lot worse than the Dove Valley in Derbyshire. Train to Ashbourne, coach to the valley. Walk through to Mill dale. about 3 miles, good footpath. There's a camp site in the village or you can walk up the hill where there's a site on a farm. Basic as it gets, just a standpipe, but you can use the village loo. Good pub, farm shop, great walking country. Thor's cave is worth the trip on its own. My terriers loved it to bits. Are your dogs safe round sheep? You might want to take long leads with you. Ric
  6. Piss taking apart, you might have an iffy batch of ammo. Have you tried shooting a few different brands? Ric
  7. You are SO RIGHT. It was like my wife. Grumpy, bad tempered, and slow to start in the morning but a wonderful ride once I got it warmed up.
  8. Just the kind of responsible driver you want to see on the road when you walking you kids down the street Fair comment but not many people walk their kids down the M69 at 2 in the morning. The only life I ever risk is mine.

  12. I was upto about ten years ago, you need a very big pocket. did you ever get across the pond and try your luck on the Emerald Isle? Ok piss taking apart . . . You need to track down your local rally club. YOU CANNOT COMPETE AT NATIONAL Level without a an RAC/ACU licence. Don't get me wrong, you don't have to be able to drive but you must know your way around. I don't know how old you are, but I'd suggest that if you want to get involved with one of the greatest sports ever invented you need to start at a low level. Get round the club, meet a few drivers, take a few runs out. If you

No but seriously guys this isn't funny. Think about it. You're out there with your .223. You try an offhand shot at a fox, assume you've missed then it turns out your 55grain BT just bounced off his shoulder. Ah well, you say. Then he shoots back! The little furry bstrds wearing Fox Body Armour. .Guaranteed to stop a 9mm at point blank range and he's packing a .338 Lapua Magnum. I know zilch about Fox Body Armour but I find the idea of foxes wearing wearing body armour so funny!!! How the hell do they fasten the zips? Ric

It just struck me as such a mad idea. I mean, yes I realise they are talking about moto-cross or dirt-bike racing but can you imagine Charlie out there in body armour? Next thing will be he shoots back. WITH A BMG. I can live with that but if the Anti's give him an RPG I for for one will bottle out. I may be mad but I ain't stupid! Ric

    F**king vets

Just got off the phone to a decent fella at the bat protection league, seems the nearest bat centre to me is Port Talbot. Vets don't want to know, so I'm going to try to look after it here. Some woman I phoned, rang the local vets and gave them a bollocking! Appartently they won't touch bats because they can carry rabies. Guess they've never heard of gloves there... They're not all bad though. Took one of my terriers in for a routine jab, saw a new guy. When I went in there was a merlin on a perch, jesses on but unhooded. My wee dog had never been scared of anything before but he too
