  1. Nice read. I think I remember reading about another british company that make barrels for the yanks delta force..... Border Barrells?
  2. I think you will find you are wrong. Only deer and birds your not allowed to lamp. It is illegal to take Game by artificial light. In this respect hares are classed as game. So stop it all you naughty boys. above post
  3. "Under the Hares Act 1848 and Hares (Scotland) Act 1848 it is an offence for 'anyone to use any firearm or gun of any description at night for the purpose of killing game'. This is an additional offence to night poaching where game is being shot during the night, which begins one hour after sunset to one hour before sunrise. The Ground Game Act (as amended) and The Agricultural (Scotland) Act 1948 appear to override the prohibition on night shooting of hares by occupiers or persons authorised under the Acts." http://www.basc.org....ice/lamping.cfm Its legal to shoot hares on the lamp f
  4. Im not questioning you personally judge, sounds like you have done a good deed and the dogs usefull to boot. Just heard the 'bandogge' name dropped a few times recently and curiosity got the better of me.

  6. Whats the crack with these bandogges then? How are they any better than an alsation, rotty or doberman? They sound more like a pig dog than a gaurd dog. Is it not just a recreation of the original bullmastif? Which in todays climate would be more inclined to kill an intruder than aprehend him...... no? Im not knocking them, to have an old school bull mastiff patrolling my yard would be spot on. But are these 'recreations' really any better than the tried and tested breeds mentioned?
  7. "Justice Secretary Ken Clarke has said a householder who knifes a burglar will not have committed a criminal offence under plans to clarify the law on self-defence in England." http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-13957587
  8. True, not nice having one of your possessions taken by a shitbag though is it. A bit worrying to think someone could get into your house so easily aswell though because next time it might not just be a car theif! Exactly, goods are easily replaced, often the greater damage is the effect of realising that the one place you feel safe in the world you no longer are. On a similar note, hasnt Cameron said something about clearing up the laws in favour of home owners so we can defend our propertys without worry of prosecution?
  9. Make your own mind up; "That same year, one of Ueno's students (who had become an amateur expert on the Akita breed) saw the dog at the station and followed him to the Kobayashi home (the home of the former gardener of Professor Ueno — Kikuzaboro Kobayashi[3]) where he learned the history of Hachikō's life. Shortly after this meeting, the former student published a documented census of Akitas in Japan. His research found only 30 purebred Akitas remaining, including Hachikō from Shibuya Station. He returned frequently to visit the dog and over the years published several articles about Hac
  10. That famous akita was called Hachiko, he went to the trainstation everyday for 9 years in the hope of meeting his master off the train. He died of cancer still waiting for his masters return. I cant imagine loyalty like that... Ive got friends that used to have akitas and they have had their dogs bowed to by japanese tourists. They didnt have a clue why untill they looked deeper into the breeds cultutral history.
  11. I skimmed the post but gotta say what I took away I agree with sandy. My dogs hate grated raw veg but happily eat cooked veg left overs. I also occasionally add a small amount of a grain based food. I think the argument with raw veg is that a wild canids primary source of plant matter is the stomachs of its prey, as you have said, and this veg matter is not in the true sense raw. Cooking is surely the closest we can get to this natural source of plant matter?
  12. what a load of bollocks the lads said it was a joke before they were arrested, even if they didnt nothing can be proved. how can you not see how this sort of thing could be used against YOU ffs? guilty until proven innocent,i guess its only ok when its somebody else or you dont agree with the crime they are accused of. @ scothunter,so should every crime not be judged on its own merit? batter some poor c**t in the street, rob them, setting fire to their house are all serious crimes regardless of if there was a riot going on forget the riot, would saying lets have a riot behind m

  14. Did either of those prat's even riot though Scot? I think they've just got them before the court and thought f**k'em they're a pair of nobody scallywags who no one worth a shit gives a damn about, so we'll make an example of these two! They wouldn't of dared done that with two black boys who were actually out there rioting. I understand you wanting to be hard on those who have wrecked the place, but lets get the right people before we start handing out the harsh punishment first ey. How about them taking the rioters council housing away from them and their benefits, what do you make of
  15. Oh right, so its better to make arrests after the crimes are committed than stop them from even being committed is it? Thats why they were prosecuted, because they had every intention of causing a riot! How do you not get that? If I threatened to murder someone and the authorities genuinely believed I was going to then should I not be prosecuted for the law I have broken before I actually commit the worse crime of murder? Editted to add, incase you were unaware making the threat to murder is a crime.
  16. oh do you know these to lads aswell? all very well people speculating on these two face book c**ts,do you know thier previous convictions or what type of lads they are.yea like i said if i was them and in thier position, all day long im gonna say it was a joke to the law.flip side to that coin being, what if they did manage to create a riot.do you think they would sit in thier bedroom and think "oh no we were only joking".like f**k they would, they would have been thier helping themselfs to whatever they could get thier grubby little hands on.possibly even setting fire to a shop and killing some
  17. Righto, when you have an argument to back your previous statement I'll answer.

  20. It's a Japanese fighting dog, they look similar(ish) to huskies but all the ones I've ever seen have been iffy around other dogs to say the least. The problem with Akitas is the fact if you don't know anything about them and you saw one coming you wouldn't necessarily think it was too much of a problem until it's too late because they don't look 'hard' like some breeds you'd be a bit wary of, they just look like big fluffy bears, they've got a proper temper though, and are usually either very dominant with other dogs, very aggressive, or both....and they are bloody big, strong and fast dogs.
  21. All very well us sitting here saying they were just messing around and had no intention of a riot but the court made the decision and I'll back that as I dont know the facts like they do. I for one wanted to see heavy sentences being handed out and now we are getting them. To the two lads that have got 4 years, I say tough shit, your a prime example of our modern disrespectfull and dishonourable society. Perhaps 4 years is a bit heavy but I would rather see them do 4 years than 4 days of community service! Honest to god, I would have shot alot of the scallys crawling the streets last week! The
  22. I do both, but Im still learning both trades. Started with shooting but always had an interest in running dogs and when circumstances permitted I went down that route to. I would love a lurcher that is relatively steady and bidable to work as a rough shooting dog but without loosing that prey drive when used for more traditional lurcher work. Im not really a gundog type person but perhaps a lurcher of the right breeding would suit both jobs. Half cross colley grey or even lab grey perhaps. That said I think sticking with lurchers for lurcher work and gundogs for shooting is a better bet.
  23. Your not wrong MOO. My only concern with that is; how long untill they try to push even more restrictive legislation through? If things stay as they are now forever then we have won, but will that be the case? If we were to get a repeal then I believe future governments would be reluctant to try to pass anti hunting legislation again to avoid all the agro it causes. The only real loss with the ban has been the waterloo cup and suddenly making working dogs more attractive to the 'bad boys'. Im not sure what I think the best course of action would be....
  24. I've not got a pic to enter but just want to say to Dan; top man for putting up such a cracking top prize. The stalking alone should be a great prize!
