Doesnt make any mention of what the punishment for the woman involved was? I'm assuming that there was an affair? Anyway, imo, the punishment fits the crime but their judicial system has alot to be desired! lol. They got their final conviction by beating it out of him ffs. Hardly reliable or trustworthy. Its a messed up country.

One thing that occurs to me, if freeze branding becomes legal and we all start doing it, the brands are gonna have to be quite complex to be unique? Is this even possible? Even if just 1000 dogs are branded, that will require a 3 digit brand. Suppose 1% of those 1000 dogs are nicked, that means everyone will have to keep note of 10 brand numbers to check. Just not sure how effective it will be?....... If only a small minority of people have their dogs branded I would think it would be VERY effective but if it becomes common place I could see it being a victim of its own success..... JM

My favourite rabbit carryer is just a simple webbing strap, usually a couple yard length of seatbelt! Leg your rabbits, thread them onto the strap and tie the ends together to make a loop and sling it over your shoulder. The straps last forever, spread the weight on your shoulder well and can be used for a box strap too if needed. Fits in ya pocket rolled up with out even noticing and most importantly costs feck all. I personally only use a game bag when rough shooting. Just dont like em for anything else.

I think labs point is that those of you shooting pheasants on permission with no released birds are probably shooting the birds of neighboughing shoots that have wandered over the boundary. If you wack say just 10 birds in the season, thats potentially 250 quids worth of pheasant the shoot has lost! Obviously situations vary but alot of the time this is the case.

I was obsessed by them as a kid,used to tail them alive when ferreting,I was barefoot in a dark temple passage once and had hundreds all around me in the gloom,great stuff. I think we have established that you're not wired up right in the head!

Rats! Dunno if its a phobia as such but they are garunteed to make me scream if they jump out and surprise me. If I know they are there I can prepare myself but if they catch me by surprise I'll shit my pants. Jumped up on top of the quad when a kitten darted out from behind a feed storage bin in the dark, thought it was a fecking great big rat! If I was in an enclosed space with one and it was actually on me I would literally loose control and have a bloody fit! Makes my skin crawl!!!

At least you're covering your expenses pal! Locally you just wouldnt get half the numbers you do in the dales, need a fast dog round this way. Do or die merchants are what make catches on this land as you know. Keep up the posts of the dales and your more local lamping (might make the rest of us feel a bit less inferior )..

How many of you developed this fear after you had kids? Just wondering if it's a kinda survival mechanism as a few have said they were fine when younger? With me when I notice how high up I am and that if I fell it would be certain death its almost like my brain doesnt trust my body not to chuck itself off! I think "jesus, thats a long way down if I was to jump", then I think "shit, I hope I dont jump, better grab summat". Always gotta look down though, not happy unless I've taken myself to the edge and had a good look down...

IMO any person wrongly accused of an offence is a victim of the original perpetrator as well as the legal system. The legal system gets it wrong from time to time, but what is the alternative, no legal system at all? PS. Blan, we already know your thoughts on this matter... There isn't any real alternative Malt. No system will ever be perfect and there will always be cock ups where a not quite guilty person suffers but tbh if I find myself caught out by the system unjustly and was gonna spend 20...30 years or my life in a Cat A I think I would rather take a bullet. So imo I supprt a death penalty, perhaps 5 years suspended death penalty, 5 years in a Cat A then if no further evidence surfaces on ya knees and a .38 in the back of your head.
