  1. Thats pretty f*****g bad. I bet none of the sabs loose any sleep over it. They dont play fair but they expect us to?...... Their ability to spew bullshit to the public has always been their strongest weapon. By the sound of it things could have been much worse. Have the police been involved?
  2. I personally thought Saving private Ryan was a decent film from start to end. It all seemed very real, unlike most films where someone gets shot and they fly back 10 feet with no blood or anything. Very similar to the Band of Brothers series. Also showed the grey areas in war where decisions aren't always is easy as some may think. Like sparing the german soldiers life and risking many mens lives for just one. Can't say I felt deeply moved by it though. Enormous respect to those involved in any war, especially that one, but wasn't a particularly moving experience watching it for me. Perhap
  3. I support a United Kingdom of Great Britain. I would support a Welsh, Scott or Northern Irish man as strongly as any Englishman. I think alot of English that talk of the other UK nationalities poorly and support breaking up the UK only do so because they are sick of certain Scotts etc bleating on about how they want independance and how much better off they would be. I think the vast majority of sensible people support a United Britain.
  4. The coursing is the illegal part.....doesn't stop you hanging up your catch and returning for it. Going round in circles here lab mate. As has been said a dozen times allready, that alright if your permission is local, if its not it aint quite so simple. Imagine travelling back up the A1 in your estate/4x4 with 3 fen dogs in the back having clearly been run hard and a game bag full of hares when plod pulls you on a Sunday afternoon....
  5. Theres alot of ignorant people commenting on this thread. Not to mention shit stirers hitting an easy target, now wheres the sport in that? lol. Life aint black and white folks, stop being so f*****g niave.
  6. Interesting views folks. Thanks for the replies. I guess anti is a strong word, there are many people out there that don't understand how a person can enjoy hunting a wild animal regardless of the justification for it and I think thats the sort of person I'm refering to when I say 'soft core' anti. But hey all types of anti are up for debate, lol. As long as the girl was accepting that this was my life whether she really agreed with it or not wouldnt bother me too much. But then I cant say Its ever been a test any of my relationships has had to stand. And as someone has already said, I
  7. Gotta say, I was gonna wait for a few more replies but thats exactly how I feel Malt. Hunting/shooting/the country is my passion, I couldn't possibly enjoy life without it to some degree and there is no changing that. But there are antis and then there are antis! Ignorant, outspoken self rightuous antis I can't even be in the same room as but those that accept this is the way I am whether they agree or not I can get on with just fine and the 'debates' make it that much more interesting. I've got good friends that are veggys and even 'soft' antis (if thats even a term) and we get on fine and do
  8. Pretty simple question, if you met a girl that you really had chemistry with, she was damn near perfect in every way and everything about her was just right for you. Ya know the sort that from day one it's all just so natural and exciting, never a doubt sorta thing. BUT..... shes an anti! Too good to be true indeed! Do you really think you could make it work? Would you want to try to make it work? Could you live with her and put your difference aside? Would it have a serious effect on the relationship if you did give it a fair crack? Anybody got any interesting experiences with thi
  9. Isnt that the point thought stabba, oznblue got shit for selling the accidental pups, not for the accident itself? Penny wasnt making money out of her mistake and she has explained why she was opposed to the morning after jab for the bitch. If someones german pointer say nailed their lamping dog by accident and they decided not to have the morning after jab for the same reason Penny did and then gifted the pups to interested working dog men then they wouldnt really get any shit for it. Some would say cull the pups, but if there are folks interested in giving them a spin knowing the full st
  10. That's good. The only decent TV seems to be coming from the states these days. I forgot about the Yank TV shows when I commented on this thread earlier, there are some really good dramas on Sky Atlantic. Boardwalk Empire, the Borgias & Game of Thrones are three shit hot series that come to mind. It's a shame it's all sky these days though. I honestly dont think I would watch TV if I was limited to the 5 terrestrial channels or even freeview. When I was at Uni a couple years back I went all week without even switching the TV on other than to watch the odd blockbuster someone h
  11. Only fools and horses has legendary status for me! Currently I'm well into 'The Big Bang Theory' and it seems alot of my friends are too. I think you would either love it or just think "this is f*****g shite". Top gear is still good but the last couple series seem too staged. The bolivia 4x4 one, african safari special, iraq xmas special and antarctic challenge were the best ever!!! Looking forward to 'Game of Thrones' second season in spring.
  12. Its a complex issue over here, opinions differ as do definitions on 'types' of poacher. There is the romantic stereotype, a thugish element, genuine lads that like to 'walk of the wild side', men in it to make a living etc etc. It's not black and white over here at all. Simple example, most farmers/keepers/public don't mind a lad out on his own with a ferret or small lurcher catching the odd rabbit, they'll probably tell him to piss off (or even give permission if the lad is a genuine sort) but wont get mental about it. However if that same farmer/keeper caught several lads on his land cou
  13. I hear alot about corrupt governments and dodgey dealings, oil this and war that but is it possible to govern a country in a fair, legal and honest way? I dont believe it is, there are shitty jobs that have to be done to ensure survival in this world and having strong ethics will just see you shit on by those that dont have any. We must never loose touch with our humanity but every country is fighting for survival and playing fair aint always wise. I'm not justifying anything in that statement as it is a hugely controversial issue, I just think some people need to look deeper into the acti
  14. Enjoy your xmas party mate......... Most of the people are sound and easy going, but the odd one just rub me up the wrong way. What happens on the xmas party stays on the xmas party, lol.
  15. Colleagues that drive like old women and then when you fly past em in frustration they get arsey and give you shitty looks as if to intimidate you! Colleagues that are arrogant, up tight and use whatever little power they have to make themselves feel more significant than they really are. And also colleagues that think they can just walk up to you and ask about the project you have been working on for the past 6 months and think they know more about it than you do, f**k OFF YOU ARROGANT LITTLE PRICK!!!!! People that give purposely controversial 'advice' when they know f**k all about a situ
  16. The BBC news story on it; http://www.bbc.co.uk...acific-15398332 Organisations in Guangdong are also looking at other ways to encourage people to act with compassion when faced with an emergency. The provincial government's political and legal affairs committee is using its micro-blog site to gather opinions about how to "guide brave acts for just causes" and promote "socialist morals". Several commentators have linked the failure of the passers-by to help with high-profile cases in which residents who stopped to assist people in distress were later held responsible for their p
  17. Shouldnt be a problem, I've dug to her farther many times and he was worked the very same way. He would only bush rabbit, never give them a second glance to ground, he knew his job and did it well. But we will see...
  18. It seems people do know who are taking these dogs then? Terriermen and Lurchermen may be looked down on by the rest of the hunting community but one thing I know shooters etc look up to about dog lads is that they have a reputation for being fecking ruthless with dog thieves! If you know names then why arent you getting together and getting to the root of the problem? I know it's alright for me to say so sat here but it's got to be the solution! They are so successfull because the hunting community is so fractured and indiviuals wont come together. Hit a couple of these dog thi
  19. Just thought I would add my pup. 15 month old bred from two handy earth dogs. I would be lost without her now, real handy dog for me, rough shooting, beating and bushing. She retrieves and has found and retrieved many a pricked rabbit already, also retrieves from water. Not too much of a b*****d like most terriers either, quite biddable. Hopefully get her entered to her true job later in the season, shes keen enough!
  20. He was an enemy of this country and the west regardless of what else he did, and as such he got what was coming. If in doing so we can stabalise our future oil supply then thats a a good enough reason for me. I wont pretend oil aint an important factor, we need it. You're right about how good he was for libya though, but no fecking saint.
  21. Lovely photo JD. It would be nice to have a decent squirrel permission for the air rifle but for the times I have to control squirrels unfortunately it's just so much more practical to use a 12 bore or .410 and a couple of dogs. Do you still have that beautifull custom 77? That guns a shooting mans wet dream!
  22. With our overpopulated island it wouldnt take long untill people were seeing lions in their back yard or roaming the streets. And who do you think the government would look to to hunt down and despatch the roaming beasts? Experienced deer stalkers, gamekeepers and big game hunters at a guess!
  23. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-15364027 Imagine if that happened in England! There would be some seriously f****d up bullxs! Alot of stupid comments about the animals being shot instead of traquilized and humans life being treated as more imprtant than an animals! Alot of people with messed up morals.
  24. Seasoned oak, ash and birch from a local golf course we log and split ourselves. Also coal when needed or when seasoned wood runs a bit thin.
  25. "FREE VOTE" Thats the key bit of info there. It would be stupid to have a free vote in parliment on the hunting ban at this point because we would loose! A quote I read somewhere comes to mind "if you ever find yourself in a fair fight then you didnt plan it very well". The same applies here, pro-hunting needs to have the strongest support before a vote.
