  1. Am I right in believing that good old Jezza (Jerremy Clarkson) chinned that arsehole Piers Morgan? Edited; just checked, he punched him at the british press awards and was restrained by security! Legend!
  2. It's be awfull if he was a victim of a stabbing and his next door neighbour shot the perpetrator with an 'evil' assault rifle. We can live in hope.
  3. That Larry Pratt put himself across very well there, Piers Morgan was desperately jumping between questions looking for an answer to trip him up on without actually challenging the facts being presented. It was a very desperate argument resulting in name calling and speaking over Larry Pratt. Piers Morgan should leave statistical analysis to staticians and let the journalists take care of sensationalism.
  4. Although I'm 'pro gun' I think that the reason for the second amendment has lost it's validity. Guns were great in the old days but a load of red necks with AR-15s aren't gonna last 30s against the US military. I'm not sure how their right to bear, what are pretty simple weapons, protect them in any way from a corrupt government?
  5. What are.you on about? The majority of greyhounds in this country are used for racing but this isn't about racing dogs. You're such a fan of quoting me, show me where I said greyhounds had great feet. They haven't got feet that get smashed up everytime they're out, anymore than any other dog. Some have good feet some have bad feet. You've not answered my questions with regard to the other breeds I mentioned because you do t know the answers. Long toes don't make a dog slower or more prone to injury. A faster dog is more likely to hit stuff than a slower dog? Are you seriously offering that u

  7. My skills as a cook are somewhat limited. Roast venison........... I only get two types of cut from a deer.......... frying steaks and stewing steaks. Actually that goes for just about all game! Cooking for one is sad enough without spending hours on it.
  8. They're a small bird so a family roast is out of the question. The traditional way is to roast the whole bird, guts and all, (I believe with it's beak up it's arse, ), have the entrails on toast and the rest for the main course. That all sounds a bit technical though to me. Must admit, I haven't ever had one and don't really have any great interest in eating one either though I am told they are very nice.
  9. all greys are a bit sparce between the ears .apart from the usuall sh..t feet you may aswell run them blindfolded cos for sure they will run into something!!!!. I was walking my folks ex racer probably 5 years ago now and the weather was particularly shitty which caused the hares to drop into some more sheltered ground where they NEVER usually are............... One jumped up followed by 32kgs of adrenaline injected greyhound! Over the brow of the hill and straight into a barbed fence, busting the fence and leaving a trail of blood from where she fell to where she was now stood in sh
  10. Love to take one on as a pup...................... but I wouldn't because I would always be thinking that a purpose bred lurcher would be a better option. A lot of time goes into a pup, I want the best pup I can get, not an experiment. Also I don't know if the temperament/personality would be different but ex track dogs seem to be a bit sparse between the ears. My only experience is with ex track dogs and there's no way I would want one of them.
  11. Woodcock don't take much lead to bring them down in my limited experience, especially when being shot at with pheasant loads, so I should imagine none but obviously can't be sure. But that's the nature of shooting, shit gets wounded. Good dogs account for most of that though.
  12. A record number of 3 shot this year on our little shoot! But seriously that's good numbers on our bit, obviously seen a lot more.
  13. Wild stocks haven't done well this year, our released english have done very well, I can't see us ever releasing frenchys again. Wild pheasants haven't done too bad considering they spent most of the Spring swimming! Really hit the hares hard though, struggle to find one this year. There's always a few shot each year but this year not one has been shot or even to my knowledge shot at, I'm happy to see them break through the beating line and gallop safely off. Good numbers of pigeon around at the moment though. Rabbit numbers are perhaps about average and I've noticed Myxi really is
  14. why do you think all guns held legally by the public are held under license, so they know where to fetch them from if they ever need to, civil unrest ect "They'll have to pry my gun from my cold dead fingers" Only joking your honour, I would of course give them all up straight away on request, like the good citizen I am. Just incase the authorities may take that comment out of context.........
  15. I agree paulus, personally I believe that any responsible citizen should be able to own a shotgun for home defense. But these are just opinions, not hard scientific facts. I'm just saying that drawing conclusions from the stats can be flawed if not looked at in depth and with a certain amount of intelligence (not calling anybody stupid either).
  16. It's dangerous to see a correlation between two things and assume one as a cause and the other as the effect. Although I'm in favour of derestricting legal firearm ownership, these countries that seem to show a correlation between gun laws a crime rate, is the crime rate an effect of their gun laws or are their gun laws an effect of the crime rate?
  17. @ skycat I'm sure you were second on Ridley Scotts list Tomo!
  18. What about Kevin Costner in Prince of Thieves! Did he even attempt to sound British? If that ever did get sent, it would be because the yanks told us to do it! Any delay would be due to us asking for their preference of delivery.
  19. That's one perspective....... another would be that a poor legal/justice system has allowed this sub human a life.
  20. That gets more and more farcical the further you read! So the 'family' that he would be denied aren't even his family? They are the family of his partners previous relationship, is that right? He was found to be here illegally twice but still not given the boot? Then killed a child with no sign of remorse? And got 4 months for it? That poor little girl! Failed by the system! And none of the MPs questioned would comment................. that speaks louder than anything they could have said. If Mr Ibrahim would like to add to his list of continued offences by breaking into my hom
  21. Look, we're just having a giggle about depressing stuff, it's what the British do, doesn't mean we agree with any of it or have a pint on order now does it. I really don't care what the antis think to this thread tbh, none of us are condoning it, some of us are being a bit more understanding/accepting of other cultures. The antis have thrown that much shit in our direction, jokes about bile bears taken out of context is really like taking a piss in the ocean. It's sad stuff, and if some f*****g asian tried doing it over here they'd want hanging! But I'm quite a strong believer in keeping o
  22. Aye Lab, bring a pot of honey and a lasso and it'll be a piece of piss mate.
  23. 130k! f**k it, we're lamping Chester zoo tonight then!
  24. Your Grandad fought the Chinese? Which war was that then?
  25. But i wonder did his bag records note an increase in head of game shot to? Or at least, did the bags decrease with this aparent increase in predators? I can imagine that more foxes would be killed with an increased number of game about in concentrated areas. I can also imagine that local foxes would have the savey to make the connection between that very distinct fragrence and high populations of game birds. Not something I have ever heard before but certainly food for thought..... Straw and hand feeding for us, it's made a hell of a difference! We can only use wheat in the feeders bec
