  1. Gnash it's got nothing to do with desperation. There's a difference between genuine refugees and mass uncontrolled immigration. It's the largest refugee crises in modern history, possibly ever. We should have put the whole thing to bed 6 months ago IMO.
  2. Nah, the fat in butter is a better lubricant... I have confirmed this with extensive research. It's the scientist in me... LOL
  3. That's just plain common sense. We have a moral obligation to care for refugees. UKIP aren't the nazi party! LOL More common sense from a common sense party!
  4. Dan mate that's very generous of you. If you have room for a bad shot I'll deffinately take you up on a boundary day! Be nice to meet hutchey as well. Ben
  5. Currently shoot an over and under Beretta and a semi-auto Beretta, both have different jobs. I very much like my silver pigeon but I'm certainly not an advocate of the "get an over and under, they're easier to shoot" philosophy, it's just not the case. I would love a nice AYA No2 or Silver Hawk but no real need and I'm not into buying pretty shit on a whim. The advantage of a SxS is the weight, or lack of, and the pleasure of shooting a real traditional gun. But weight's never been something that has bothered me and I really want all my guns to chamber 3" magnums so the O&U is a natural ch
  6. Well it turned into a bit of a 'do', six good lads turned up and enjoyed a long walked up day. Final bag was a mix of partridge, pheasant, duck and one pigeon totalling 19 head. Supposed to just be a boundary walk about but ended up doing a few of our lesser drives that have all but dried up which was good. A lot of hedges, nooks and crannies we didn't get to. My terrier found a fox fast asleep in a very rough ditch and had a bit of a tear up with it eventually running it to ground, 15 mins later I'd got her out as it didn't look like bolting and I couldn't hold the day up. Thoroughly enjo
  7. The band of merry men heard a tremendous roar in the night sky....... with an intense blinding light and a shuddering impact a meteorite struck Fort William and ended ALL life on Earth. THE END
  8. who the fooks he It's Spartacus from Gods of the Arena series.
  9. "No.......... I'm Spartacus!"
  10. I'm not a big chap but it's plenty manageable. With a sling to shoulder it it'd be no issue at all imo. Wouldn't hurt knocking 2 inch off the stock though! LOL
  11. So does anybody have any Xmas shoot traditions? I try to make sure that we have an organised walk about durring the Xmas week. Ours is this Saturday and there should be half a dozen of us for an informal do just walking stubles and knocking in hedgerows and set-a-side. That's what this holiday is about for me! Anybody else have a Xmas/NY tradition?
  12. South Nott's assuming they're meeting at Car Colston.
  13. Bit 'sludgey' and very windy round us but not too bad. Doing the rounds feeding the birds today and there's shit loads of pigeons hitting the woods. So I'm thinking tomorrow, get the dogs walked in the morning, xmas lunch at my folks and then tuck into a spinney with a full cartridge bag for a couple hours! Then off to my mates for a bit of xmas cheer before the Boxing day meet in the morning. Weather permitting....
  14. You have all the time in the world 364 days of the year to spend on here, you live in the north and you are gonna be away south on Xmas Eve......... f***ing hell Baw....... you're....... you're....... A prize c**t! Merry Christmas.
  15. So that's all you have then. Right'o Paulus, you're not to be trusted! Okay? C Hall says so!
  16. You haven't explained f**k all, you've just made a serious accusation. I suggest you give some details to back up what you're saying...
  17. Fair mistake! The average Texan is similar in size to a garden swimming pool. LOL LOL
  18. Apathy plays a huge part. We may be civilised as a nation, but are we in decline? If British subjects were allowed to defend themselves, and others, would we see much of the violence that is now endemic in the UK? Imagine if Fusilier Rigby had been armed. Or others nearby in a position to intervene? Put it this way.... It wouldn't have happened in Texas! LOL
  19. I fully understand that, BH, and agree. The thing is we have a right to defend ourselves, and that isn't something that a government should be able to control. Ya know, I have a lot of pride in how civilised we are as a nation, our sense of 'correct & properness'. But we've let it rule us imo to the point of blind civil obedience! As much as we cringe at our 'in your face' bold American cousins they don't stand for any overbearing government official telling them how to live.
  20. The British Government flat out refuse to acknowledge the sensible because it's the the thin end of a thick wedge of gun derestriction! As we know when it comes to gun legislation the wedge only ever points one way..... in the direction of more draconian gun laws! If they allowed shotguns for home defense, then a fair case could be made for 5... 8... even 12 shot pump actions, further still a good case could be made for large caliber pistols. That's just a path our leaders aren't willing to go down.
  21. It's my view that any respectable British citizen should have the right to posses a shotgun for the explicit purpose of home defense. Shotguns are acceptable for sporting use, the use of weapons is acceptable for home defense and the use of a sporting shotgun is acceptable for defense. So why people can't own a shotgun for the sole purpose of defense is beyond me...
