I know what you're saying I just think it's hard to justify even in Russian brains........ If the Ukrainians decide democratically to ally themselves with the EU how is that a direct threat to the Russian Fed'? The EU is no enemy of Russia. They'll have a hard job justifying an invasion on those grounds......
-
Lets just put this into perspective, Putin's got his troops doing drills to assess combat readiness....... that's no different to the Yanks flying a B52 over those disputed Jap islands when the Chinks included them in their air defence identification zone. It's just political muscle flexing

They've changed their geopolitical stance....... maybe........... but they still invaded Iraq 10 years ago! They still initiated the attacks on Libya three years ago. They still wanted to level Syria last year! It's not changed that much. LOL. That stance has changed because of China and their growing power. Russia have been quiet, they're still closely watching them. It's only my opinion but I really don't believe that NATO are happy to see Russia start playing Cold War again......

Are we talking a Russian invasion? To what end? A Russian state of Ukrain? To secure military/naval bases at a time of civil unrest? How they react and the consiquences of those actions will have massive implications on how foreign states react. I'm saying IMO there's more chance of snow in hell than Russia invading Ukrain and taking control........ it'd cause WWIII. Would the West just stand by a watch in a dissgruntled maner? I guess we're about to find out.......

Chechnya and Dagestan were basically eradicating Islamic insurgent threats were they not? Justifiable. This is different to Georgia imo. The world is a different place and the great powers more respectful of each other imo. If Russia invade NATO will HAVE to act, they're not just going to let the Russians take the Ukrain back forceably. Might Russia act to secure their military bases? Is that acceptable? Maybe.......... but no way would they carry out an invasion.

Russia wont take any serious military action against Ukrain, it'd be mental! If the Ukrainians are seriously wanting to 'join the west' then they'd be in NATO in a flash. But they wouldn't need to be in NATO to have that protection. The West wont just sit by and watch the Russians throw their weight about, that's a dangerous game to let run. We know that, the Russians know that.......... nothing is going to happen. And this is exactly why we need to maintain a nuclear deterant. It keeps shit harmonious! We don't all get along because we have reached a superior state of civilisation, we all

Butcher Forced To Remove Meat Display After Hate Protests
Born Hunter replied to Astral's topic in General Talk
Mushy, ffs give it to the dogs and buy a nice ham! How hard up are you over there having to eat pigs heads? -
Yes! The yanks will probably respond by flying a B2 over Moscow.
-
Unfortunately it's not. Under EU law we can't practice capital punishment.

So You Want To Be A Keeper???
Born Hunter replied to danw's topic in Gamekeeping, Conservation & Shoot Management
Did the hunt draw that good holding covert at yours Dan?...................... "The Keepers Garden Covert" -
That doesn't change the fact wollyjnr was talking daft. LOL. Just thought I'd put that up there. Always some 'backup' with these commercial dangerous game hunts. The nature of bowhunting means there's every chance that after even the perfect shot you could get mashed! Can't say it's my cup of tea......

When Was The Last Time You Saw A Barn Owl?
Born Hunter replied to man o kent's topic in General Talk
travelled down to skegness saw a few just before it turned dark saw 6 in total on the trip down a46 a158 route seems to be blessed with them saw 2 in as many minutes at burgh... There's a lovely little village local to my parents in Lincolnshire, by the river is maybe 20-30 acres of unkept hedges and fields kept for silage, very often see Barn Owls round there. Quite a few other places like that too. On the shoot there's a patch of setaside that holds English partridge nicely, we counted seven Tawny Owls lift out of that early this season. -

I'd imagine local populations vary quite a bit mate. I've noticed a lot of the ones I see are in areas of farmland with a lot of setaside, unmanaged hedges and mature woodland etc. Heavily managed arable land can be very quiet with them. -

funny how that tom hardy comes across as a big man when he's about 5ft4 lol just shows how good an actor he is IMO Jason Stathem is only 5'9", neither are big men, but both have powerful physiques. Hardy in particular has PACKED it on in recent years.

So You Want To Be A Keeper???
Born Hunter replied to danw's topic in Gamekeeping, Conservation & Shoot Management
Not that I actually have the intention of being a keeper, I'm quite happy fannying around on our DIY shoot, but have you ever worked in an office 9-5 year on year Dan mate? LOL. -
Hardly asking much of it is he. LOL. It'll be fine for what the OP intends for it I'd imagine. I've seen dobermans and dalmations in various beating lines so why not, it'll be far more suited than either of them.

Putting Another Shotgun On Your Licence
Born Hunter replied to STRANGER's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
That's good. It amazes me in the 21stC with all the tech we have there is not a centralised firearms registry system with a website that you can access to complete a simple form and submit it. All relevant parties could do this and notification of receipt sent via e-mail. We're still pissing around with paper licences ffs! The whole thing is archaic! They need an app with the relevant hashtags etc etc obviously... -
Readie, you've got bodies under your patio haven't you?
-
Yeah, the British Military are using it with the L85. Does it have any practical use away from the battlefield? imo.
-
I wonder the same. Many don't really agree with their politics at all and just see them as the new a credible nationalist party. Which they are but not anything like what some believe. For instance, how many times when Islam is mentioned do you hear some half wit screaming "vote UKIP, f**k all the pakis off!".......... that's their immigration policy is it? f**k all pakis off? LOL LOL. FFS I support UKIP for one main reason and that's that they're the only legitimate libertarian party out there. They talk such common sense to my ears and mind it's practically invigorating!
