We very recently commited a significant amount of Naval assets to the Malaysian Airline search and the typhoon relief and rescue.

Walshie, they've already run into problems, they haven't the ability to carry out an operation of that scale to the same standard as the UK or US, or for that matter the Germans, French, Polish, Israelis, Ozzies, Kiwis, Canadians. The Nigerian army could probably kill all the insurgents but it's a rescue not just an extermination. It'd be just like that Russian cinema, national pride at the expense of civilian lives. If US or UK forces carried it out they could smash them that hard they'd think twice before doing it again and our reputation in the world would be partially restored for do

This isn't a policing matter though is it mate, this would be assisting a nation in rescueing 200+ school girls that want to drag themselves out of the shite third world represive scum that surrounds them and their continent. We have the tools to help them.... if requested.

Neither are any other crisis through the world, but if we can help then I believe we have the moral obligation to, pending a risk assesment. Obviously the risks involved in the sort of operation that was carried out in Sierra Leone is higher risk than the like of searching for the Malasian Airlines flight but equally we are one of the few nations capable of carrying out such a task with minimal casualties and I'd hazard a guess the lads that would be doing it are the sort that notch up kills on the butt of their C8s, they live for it.

If requested by the Nigerian Govt, who would support British military involvement? Apparently we have 'officials' over there, as do the US, to support the authorities in finding them. It's entirely possible the UK or the US will be asked to carry out a joint rescue of the 200+ girls. Thoughts....

how far are you from notts??? i can probably beat skip prices on your hardcore if your not to far away......... I think our gardens are related... LOL. I favoured the dig it over and grass it option, the grass is really coming through now. Got a f**k load of hardcore and gravel to skip, a fence to finish and outhouses that need new doors and frames. Much prefer outdoors work to indoors mind, f***ing bathroom is dragging now...

I haven't got the strength to watch it again, but the only benefit of keeping your quarry alive in that environment would be to keep it fresh. As soon as you kill it it needs preping for tea, keeping it alive keeps it fresh.

Will you be giving them their due when they are bombing British soil? that is not the question. No, it's not. But you said to give them their due and therefore respect for fighting in a cause they believe in. My question to that is, will you be giving them their due when they are coming home radicalised and trained and using their new skills against us? MI5 see this as a major problem and something that we're going to suffer the consiquences of. I find I have no respect for them, purely contempt.

We shouldn't just immediately jump to the assumption it's anything other than a caring old man. Our society is in a shit state where vulnerable kids just get left because adult males are too afraid to intervene and help for fear of being labelled a nonce. Let the police make their judgements, public judgements just add to that stigma.
