And purely out of interest, what are people's opinion on periodisation? What's your philosophy on it?

I'm currently 73kg and my 1rm is 180kg. I'm hoping to hit 200 before too much longer but concentrating more on my squat. Not that it's a competition or anything, it's one of my stronger lifts, got plenty of weaknesses and lots to learn.

Too right me duck ! The Trip is considerably older than 143 years ! The Trip, Salutation, The Bell....... all have a claim apparently. Only one I've been in was Ye Olde Salutation..... my pint glass had lipstick stains on it still, LOL, classy establishment! Nevertheless, a lot of history in one place.

Really? You surprise me saying that. Jmo but he did what he had to, his duty. I would hunt every last threat to British security to their graves but it's naive to think that doing deals for the sake of peace isn't what sometimes has to be done. The greater good... What he did was the best course of action for our nations. Vengeance and emotion can't be allowed to get in the way of that. The heir to the throne doesn't have that privilege.

I don't think there is anything soft about it at all personally. Emotion and vengeance was put aside for the sake of the nation. Some things are greater than oneself. As heir to the throne, he knows that.

Errrr CLAIMS to be the oldest! Nottingham isn't about to give that title away just yet. LOL

Makes sense. People with right of centre views accept the world as a dog eat dog environment, embrace it even. In that environment any policy is only as effective as the hard power that stands behind it. Physical strength is naturally seen as admirable. In comparison with left of centre political views which tends to despise the dog eat dog competitive mentality and the use of hard power, it's easy to see how conservatives would be more likely to find superior physical ability comforting and desirable. Whether this leads to some sort of natural selection breeding physical superiority or more s

Close grip pull overs....

I wonder how many hours Tomo spent mixing up chocolate flavoured plaster to train the dog to do that?

If that's the attitude you take with "words" good job you weren't in charge of the UK. We would have lost ulster. LOL, it was intended as banter mate. Any other day on the forum I'd be accused of being an English imperialist! A strong Union is very important to me. Now, following on with this wall idea.... can we just wall in the kingdom of Mercia and the rest of you can go back to fighting over second best?
-
I'd build a f***ing wall north of Lincoln and f**k you all off!

Only a townie would have to ask such a question...... a bumpkin might not know the answer but he sure wouldn't have to ask. LOL

The Book of Eli, another good post apocalyptic film. Denzel Washington is another actor that rarely makes a bad film, like Tom Hardy.
-
Wasnt waterworld branded one of the worst films ever made? I didn't mind it either from what I can remember about it.. No idea mate. I was probably about 12 last time a saw it. LOL I liked Stargate as well, wasn't that another that got bad reviews?

How about we have an SNP sub-forum. So all the SNP shite stuff can be kept out the way?

the only one I was disappointed with was lock. hoping mad max doesn't disappoint. Another good one with him in is rocknrolla.some others I can watch over shawshank the fighter the prestige highlander see no evil hear no evil Haven't seen Locke. Talking about Mad Max reminds me of a couple other dystopian genre films from a few years back, Waterworld and The Postman. I was a kid when I watched them, I remember really liking them but have no idea if they are any good really. Have to watch them again.

Simple set up, Tikka T3 Hunter 25-06 with 8x56 Swaro and Jet-Z compact moderator. 85 grain Nosler ballistic tips seem very effective! Just added a 5 shot mag too. Picture is a bit shit.
-
That is something I had considered. I'll have to have a think about my options. I'd be interested in seeing some pics though mate.
-
I liked the film Hardy was in about bootleggers during prohibition I cant remember what it was called, Bronson was an entertaining film as well. Lawless. great film.
-
Warrior with Tom Hardy was a decent film. Anything with Tom Hardy is usually decent, only one I couldn't get into was Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. The new Batman trilogy was pretty good too.

It's worth remembering that, regards to the hunting act repeal, a topic I would hope we could all find common ground on. I don't know how things stand now but before the election I believe there was 24 Con' MPs vocally opposed to hunting..... If a free vote is to be successful it's going to require the politicians to do a bit of politics. are there any non-tory mps who are in favour of hunting? I think so yeah. Not sure how things stand now though. We just need to remember that it's not a dead certain outcome. The politicians still have work to do if it's to go our way.

Only good thing to come from the tories(did i really just type that) The Hunting Act doesn't effect you lot though mate. I thought you had

That's not just a matter of money. If you were to give out fruit and veg for free some people would still be too lazy or stupid to make a meal with them or exchance them for convenient but unhealthy snacks and fast food. If you cast an eye over the shopping trolley of someone at the bottom of the pile in Tesco, you will often see nothing but shite food, which is far more costly than raw ingredients to make a hearty meal. They also tend to find it easier to obtain money for fags, booze and scratch cards than they do to find money to feed their kids. There is only so much you can do for people

Loads of good films mentioned already. I couldn't pick a favourite and loads I still want to see. Here's a couple not mentioned that appeal to me; Jurassic Park Independence Day Transformers Aliens, Dinosaurs and big explosions, I'm easily pleased....
