  1. I might not share the same views as you generally on social and political matters etc but you're absolutely right about it being impossible to strike a balance, no government will ever please everyone and as long as man is making the decisions corruption will always be present. Who do you want to make the decisions a robot, feck me not a woman, have you not seen the other thread lol No, not any sort of AI or algorithm. I was just stating what I consider to be reality, Human nature isn't conducive to a perfect system. Once we get over that, the only thing left to do is make best of th

  3. But where do we draw the line between not having the piss taken and not pulling your weight? It seems we all draw the line where ever is convenient and justify it by not agreeing with how the Gov. spend parts of it, like Foreign Aid, EU membership, HS2, Geo-political military interventions etc etc. I'm not saying those aren't valid reasons for wanting change but is it really justification for basically avoiding tax where ever possible and yet still enjoying the infrastructure and benefits those taxes buy? Bringing this back to travellers. Fairly or otherwise they are a community viewed by
  4. Come on wilf, without tax, there's no central government at all. That system only benefits the man at the top, most probably a foreigner with some sort of central government. Without it we have no national defence, no free education, no health care, no infrastructure. The whole place would fall into a complete mess and we'd be finished inside a decade. No taxes, no system at all. Your a clever chap mate, if the government just did what the government is supposed to do which is infrastructure, security and defence then the tax rate would be about 5% not the f***ing 60% it is now. Tax fr

  6. I'm pleased that the authorities are actually taking action. There is a group illegally camped in a public car park in a town near me. If I stayed there longer than my ticket allowed I would be hit with a ticket and £100 fine. Traffic wardens have been instructed not to ticket the travellers so as to 'avoid confrontation'. The lesson from this is, if you have a reputation for illegal violence and intimidating people then the authorities won't apply normal rules to you... I would like to see more HMRC investigations into travellers, with POCA being used to confiscate assets they can't ac
  7. You still shooting a poxy .223? How sporting of you. And a 308. Just the one centrefire for you? How minimalist. Ah, another shorty. You only need one when that one is a 25. Haha
  8. I'll have a read, cheers mate. But I was wondering more about livestock, that needs shooting, so to speak. I guess I'd then need some sort of livestock license to transfer ownership to then kill it and it all becomes a bit of a pain in the arse just to help a mate out with a few knackered old ewes. Get humane dispatch of livestock as a condition on your ticket ... Came as standard with Linc's, not sure if the condition has been removed with Nott's. Either way, a 12 bore would do.
  9. I may be wrong but it would appear from talking to 3 Kent FLO`s this is indeed the case, all permission is put on an individuals file, if like me they have a closed ticket I guess the reason the FLO wants me personally to keep sending in the slips is the land has been preliminary okayed for .22lr by him but is not on the database and will save a visit each time a new permission he's already seen is granted? Plus if the land is on my file, I hope when I have 6 or 7 different types of land (footpath, animals, property, flat field, hilly ect..) on my record, I've more chance of an open FAC
  10. Yeah, but it's on Sky Go. LOL Do you know anybody that has sky? Most Sky customers don't use the online catch-up service they pay for, they can have up to two devices registered to use it. If you know a Sky customer that doesn't mind you registering your PC/laptop/tablet/smart TV (whichever you want), you can access all the catch-up (and stream live Sky ), including History.

  12. What's the deal with taking stock direct from the producer/farmer? I'm guessing there's paperwork involved? I was clearing a few rats from a mates yard with the terrier recently, he farms sheep and pigs, and he asked me if I knew if the hunt take dead stock anymore. They don't but that's not important. He's not a big fan of shooting his own stock but has a real moral problem with anything going to waste if at all avoidable. I know a few folks that would take free mutton/lamb for the dogs and wondered what the legality is of me doing it?
  13. There are some curious views on morality here. We seem to be under the impression there is such a thing as absolute right and wrong. I think it's worth taking a step back. The bottom line with morality is, there's my opinion and there's everyone else's individual opinion. Right and wrong are completely arbitrary and subjective, not fact or absolute. 'Unnecessary cruelty' should be completely avoided, it's 'common sense'....... right? So nobody here has had a hunt for no other reason than they wanted to? Nobody been out for a dig or fishing or a run for no other reason than they wanted
  14. I'm the biggest coffee heathen around. I couldn't tell you what it is or the difference between brands or the 'real stuff', just pour some into my mug (feck using a spoon), add boiling water and milk. Two a day usually, maybe 4-5 a day at the weekend. Black if the milks run out.
  15. I tell ya what though, I bet if they did try to convert Charlie, the aftermath would make the 8 o'clock news! Haha
  16. Generally I'm inclined to agree with Chris on this. Though it's not in any doubt that the authorities will apply pressure to certain parts of society over others to suit their agenda.... If the public let them! Only thing I'll add, imo we don't have any rights, we have privileges. As far as I'm concerned we gave up our rights at the same time we gave up our right to bear arms. About the only aspect of the Bill of Rights not considered sacred. That's the cornerstone of freedom and we pissed it up the wall for bigger government and more welfare. Who wants responsibility and self sufficie
  17. Not strictly true. Gravity is a constant, but a heavier round with more drag will drop quicker. However, the a heavier round is also probably in many instances a fired from a more powerful cartridge and thus whilst it has more drag and so sheds energy faster, it also carriers more velocity and energy to start with and so takes longer to shed that energy and so flies further. That's why a .223 travels further than a .22 LR despite gravity being a constant. In the context it was intended, it IS strictly true. The comment was quite clearly directed at Hydro's "...as is the resistan
  18. "Blah blah blah blah....... FACT!" Nine times out of ten, it's not a fact at all. LOL
  19. Sauds asked the Pakistan army to fight the Houtis in Yemen on their behalf so you can discount them. The Isrealis may dream of it but that isthe extent they cant Deal with Hezbollah in Lebanon never mind Iran. The Saudis have access to nuclear weapons right now and are becoming progressively far more willing to get involved regionally. An Iranian nuclear strike would seriously provoke them. The Israelis also have nuclear weapons, just don't talk about it, and they have the capability to strike, and they're fairly hardline on this topic. The mind-set of every enemy of a nuclear capable
  20. The US wouldn't act aggressively towards Iran if more extremist factions gained control of Iran and used a nuclear weapon offensively? I find that very hard to believe. Besides, they would have to beat the Saudis and Israelis to the job. The whole situation is a f***ing bomb in itself.
  21. Where's Born when you need him I think they are the same thing, there are two types Hydrogeon and Atomic bombs both create a nuclear reaction or that's what I remember, maybe wrong.. You're right, but I didn't want to stick my nose in, lol. Nuclear weapons use the power of the atoms nucleus to create energy in two fundamental ways. Fission weapons are the first generation, these are what were used in Japan and generally referred to as "atomic bombs", "A-bombs" and "atom bombs". Thermonuclear weapons that take advantage of nuclear fusion are the second generation nukes, they us
  22. He meant initiating braking and indicating at the same time. Not actually braking and indicating at the same time, which obviously you have to do. As in, you should indicate in plenty of time before performing the manoeuvre (braking to turn). If you only flick the indicators as you stamp on the brake, you haven't given anybody much 'indication' as to your intentions to perform a manoeuvre.
  23. W.D.M Bell shot 800 Elephant with his! Do you see many Elephant in Warwickshire?
  24. And folks indicating usually doesn't bother me at all, if you trust their indicators you're going to have an accident.
