From what I remember the trapper's knowledge and experience was very clear, he struck me as a genuine authority on cats. My only criticism was perhaps that he could have done with an African PH to partner with, giving a second opinion and another area of cat experience/knowledge. The keeper was full of shit imo. Maybe I'm just a redneck f****r but I'd flatten a big cat if I got one in shot and I find it hard to believe that any keeper or stalker wouldn't do the very same! If big cats genuinely exist in the UK then they're either going to be Cougars (technically not a big cat), Leopards
-
I remember one where they brought over some american trapper who looked at all the evidence. I think they went to some estate where the keeper swore he regularly saw them on the lamp and they set traps etc and found squat! There's just no evidence to support big cats roaming the UK and certainly no sustained populations.

another good post mate do you believe its the design is only 60% complete thats holding it back or lack of money as former first sea lord admiral west suggests, whats ever it is, is putting jobs at risk.. if only we could get one or two opinions from those workers who voted no... I don't know Joe mate. Hasn't there been design specification concerns over performance in the Gulf brought about by failures in the Destroyer fleet? Something to do with the requirement to perform in such environments but it wasn't defined that they would be expected to perform continually and are failin

If you leave the union you WILL lose the work, it's an established Defence policy. Remaining in the Union is guaranteeing work and in all probability the 2015 SDSR will result in more work due to the commitment to optimise the frigate fleet and increase the total combat fleet. It's right to remain dubious and maintain political pressure to ensure you get the volume of work promised in 2014, but to call this a failed promise and demanding that you build 13 GCSs is cutting your nose off to spite your face. There's a very good chance this move will in fact result in more ships being built at
-
Just an FYI Joe, but the 2015 SDSR, which is when the reduction in the GCS fleet was decided on actually states that the intention is to increase the size of the total surface combat fleet! In all probability Clyde will get more work, not less.
-
Eight GCSs. The money assigned for the remaining five is set aside for a separate frigate fleet project which is intended to be used as a general purpose frigate (GPF) at a cheaper unit cost and hopefully greater number for general patrol duties etc. The GCS frigate fleet is intended to be a specialised anti submarine fleet. I shouldn't worry Joe, a Blue water navy operating two Supercarriers needs more than eight frigates to carry out typical operations. The frigates are the workhorses of the navy, even 13 is light for all of the RN's patrol and escort duties.
-
LOL "failed promise". Don't be so dramatic. The GCS are coming and they will be built at Clyde so long as Clyde remains sovereign UK territory. The MoD having a hiccup is hardly shocking now is it! If the nationalists are counting this as a failure then we might as well build them at Portsmouth seeing as we have nothing to gain politically by letting them be built in the North. Hopefully Canada, Oz, Brasil, India or Germany buy in and you are able to build even more!

Attempted Isis Knife Attack On Raf Personnel Here
Born Hunter replied to kanny's topic in General Talk
I don't deny that mate. What I take issue with is the suggestion that the reason these lone wolves don't use firearms is because of our extremely prohibitive gun laws. Obvious with total gun freedom or similar such as in states like the US then legal firearms are more easily acquired by dodgy people but that does not mean our gun laws are right or proven effective. There is significant room for movement towards greater gun liberty without changing this outcome at all. Reality is, that if these lone wolves thought they needed a gun, they would get one and if the easiest way was to steal legally -

I'm sure there still allowed to in northern Ireland should be the same on the mainland imoIn fact members of the public can be issued with a permit for concealed carry for personal protection... If the police accept they require one (politicians, ex police, ex prison wardens ect)You beat me to it but what I will say is the fact that these terrorist had to use knifes shows we have our gun laws right where the general public are concerned Why does it? Do terrorists on the continent where pistols and automatic rifles are often legal use legally held firearms in their terrorist activities? -
it separates the men from the boys, you need the best for special forces and I can't see how else to test in this country other than barren, hot or cold wet conditions pushed to your limits, the enemy will not stop just because its a hot day , they will run you down, its then you will know how far you can go, always sad to see a lad die but thats the process unfortunately, RIP, WM Just as an FYI but this lad wasn't on an SF course, he was infantry.
-
I don't think it's clear yet what he actually died of. Hard to make a judgement yet.

Internment. And it's hapenend more recently than WW2 too. Internment of Irish Rep's is what effectively led to the likes of Bloody Sunday I believe. Infact, isn't Guantanamo effectively an internment camp?

Was it airborne and was it unidentified? If so then I think it is, yes. LOL LOL

My old man had 8 other day, apperently they going charge £4 to park at abbotsbury soon an lock car park up over night,I've not fished off chesil for 15 year? I think. If I'm to believe what I've read it's like shooting fish in a barrel! LOL. It needs to be, I'm not particularly a sport fisherman, I'm only interested in bagging some tasty fish.
-
I'm planning a trip down soon for a bit of mackerel fishing on Chesil beach. I'm totally green when it comes to this kind of fishing but I guess only one way to learn... Quite fancy bringing a few back on ice to cold smoke.

I don't believe nuclear war would end the world. Look at areas that have suffered nuclear attack or catastrophe already. It'd have to be one hell of a war to be our end. Must admit, I'm torn as to whether I'd rather the money was spent on conventional hardware like a much larger frigate/patrol fleet and more aircraft with possibly a cruise missile and jet based nuclear capability if one at all. I don't believe in letting anybody else provide our sides nuclear deterrent, the Vanguard/Trident fleet does the job best and frankly I do genuinely believe there is a threat or the potential for on
-
Didn't Corbyn begrudgingly declare support for a replacement fleet to appease the unions but then add his "armed with conventional warheads" bollocks to satisfy his nuclear proliferation mates?
-
Yes, it'd be cool to see. Personally I think by adding plenty of pics of the set and stuff it makes the result pic less offensive to those that would feel that way. Makes it appear less of a glorification and more of a story/education. There's no shortage of these pictures and videos all over the net. Adding more in a carefully considered way ain't gonna do any harm.

Seems they have quite a history of coups! Looks like they like to have one a decade and they've been overdue! LOL

f***ing hell, even politicians aren't that daft. Most folk are still moaning about stuff the Torys did 40 year ago! LOL

Ten years ago she was a total babe! She's still a head turner now.

But when have the other countries In the EU played by the rules if it didn't suit them ...? .. So you think the rest of the EU will just ignore the rules when it comes to setting up trade deals with us? Ok then, admire your optimism No not ignore , just bend them slightly ...I certainly can't see the Germans causing major problems for there motor / engineering industries just to play hardball ..I think their will be lots of behind the scenes talks regardless of what Junkers had said ... EU members aren't allowed to do deals themselves but they will surely be having unofficial bilateral

I could go on, but I won't. LOL. The right is certainly abused, but that's the nature of rights I guess. -

Americans, particularly Texans often pride themselves on their independence and in all probability considered such an act their civic duty. Do we or you really know anything about the Individual? You've decided he was a gun toting redneck that wanted a kill, personally I think you are a mile off in understanding these people's mindset. Nope not at all. Devils advocate remember. I have no issue with him shooting the guy, I just have doubts about his motive and his sensibility for doing it. Why didn`t he shoot him when he pulled a gun out in the store.? Remember , I`m a bloke that p
