  1. Ye never got the stark ones or whatever they called did ye, anti scratch ones? No, I was tempted for bramble protection but I don't like the look and frankly I'm a bit dubious of those type. I like a bit of a high rand but that's a bit much for me. So long as the leather is decent and theirs a gore-tex type lining that should be ample tough enough for a boot imo. I'm very happy with the Gamekeeper so far. Well made boot and the three width options is a great idea.
  2. It'll never be lifted which is a shame considering you can bow hunt all over the rest of the Anglosphere, a chunk of Europe and Africa. Makes you wonder what the potential revenue would be from bowhunting tourism. It's massive in the States with the likes of Shockey and Cam Hanes etc and with the UK's relative high density deer populations I imagine those high wealth tourists would love to come here and get a load of hunting in.
  3. I really liked the Sneeker Aqua but they are a very lightweight boot (1.8mm leather), still mine were very robust considering. They've survived the bramble infested country I live in so I can't say I have had a similar experience to you Neems. I've just last week got a new pair of the Gamekeepers and they seem great, much prefer them to the Meindl Dovres, but that's just a personal preference due to the choice of a narrower fit option. Far more robust build (2.8mm leather) than the Sneeker, but then they are designed to be. They are gonna take a bit of breaking in for me but time will tell
  4. Even the use of strategic nukes is more than a simple topic. Considering the development of US and NATO-European missile defence networks. The Russians get very pissy about that because it threatens their ability to strike and therefore maintain a credible deterent.I've always been led to believe that we are very capable of using nuclear attacks but are virtually defenceless from being attacked ourselves??Do you think Trident would save the day? National and regional missile defence systems are still in development with destroyers and other assets being tested in that role. It's an evolving t

  6. You do realise we have done a lot more damage and unsettled these countries a hell of a lot more than Russia?Russia not unbeatable? What are you smoking? If we ever went to war with Russia then it's likely we are all goners... I honestly don't know why people think Russia are some sort of hard bitten super power. They have little to no expeditionary capability. http://www.europeangeostrategy.org/2014/01/european-geostrategy-audit-major-powers-worlds-fifteen-most-powerful-countries-2014/ The Kremlin is far from transparent on their military capabilities, they don't seem to bothered about

  9. All this talk of Macnab I think I will have to invent the Midlands Macnab which I am now declaring to be fallow buck, a brace of English partridge and a brown trout. All have to be truly wild too. Might have to be a team effort because I've no interest in fly fishing, lol, but I have access to all three so be a shame not to... I reckon out at the crack of sparra fart for the buck, then straight on the river for the browny after breakfast, then that'll give you most of the day to walk stubbles and set-a-side for the brace of English and if you didn't manage the buck in the morning you'll ge
  10. It's a 17 Hornet you want!.................... Oh you're talking about bugs.
  11. I'm sure I've read that you keeper a few pheasants MIK. I presume for driven shooting? Are these HPR types at all suited to that sort of work? In the beating line I mean. They sound fantastic for a rough shooter and vermin work but I get the impression it'd be a mistake to force them to work close in the beating line. Anyway, I like the pics and reading the dogs progress.
  12. Wouldn't that depend on the context? Anything can be evidence but for it to be solid it needs to be tested, reinforced, refined until it stands up to claim, and counter claim. That's incredibly simplified, I know, but what would your criteria be? Evidence is subjective, even though to some it is fact to others it is open to interpretation. For example take a hung jury, they are all presented with the same evidence, yet each member has interpreted that evidence in their own way and drawn different conclusions. TC Depends on what the evidence is, if I measure something to cut with a t
  13. Last year I heard on the grape vine that one of the combine drivers bumped a fox and took it's tail off. Tall story I thought but later found the brush in the same field that I was told it happened..........
  14. Thanks for that as that was my main concern about them I dont like a dog to depended on the human.I like a dog with a brain to work things out for them selfs They'll hunt like f**k given the chance to many a keeper and head beaters despair! You don't have to worry about the tapped fuckers free hunting!
  15. Anybody concerned about spaniels being too dependent on human direction needn't be. Those dogs are raised that way, it becomes second nature for them to keep close and regularly look to their handler. If raised to hunt more freely they will and with determination! Hell, half the the spaniels that are supposed to stay close will c**t a drive up in under 30 seconds! LOL. I couldn't think of a better breed for knocking out thorny coverts, thick set-a-sides and big hedges, typical bushing stuff.
  16. Cracking little story from The Fieldsports Gazette. The day when the PH Robin Hurt nearly died. http://www.fieldsportsmagazine.com/Stalking/close-calls-part-1.html The hunting of a wounded Leopard is the one big five scenario that has always interested me. About as dangerous as it gets...
  17. My experience of their service is that it's a joke and my experience with their clothing is that it doesn't last a season. I've got a pair of their Falkland trousers which I would happily give away. Well made perhaps, but piss poor performance.
  18. Unusually pleasant response for you, Socks. Considering the thread is one of Walshies rural life questions! LOL
  19. Just idiots being idiots. There's some decent videos of their 'victims' beating them and setting dogs on them in retaliation! LOL Sooner or later one of these clowns is going to get shot or killed and it won't be a moment too soon.
  20. Were they bullocks? Bullocks are wankers. Particularly if they have had grief off of uncontrolled pets in the past.
  21. They had to do a more progressive take on the harley/joker thing. Audiences wouldn't have accepted the real deal. The joker is a real lunatic in this one compared to ledgers anarcist which I think is more representative but it a no win fight being the joker after ledger. He was a legend! Dunno which film it is but deathstroke is making an appearance at some point which will be cool as f**k for me personally. Aquaman looks surprisingly good too. DC stuff is knocking spots of Marvel for me.
  22. It lacked something, dunno what but it lacked it. It was still a decent film and part of a decent universe. BvS was very good and justice league is looking like it'll match it.
  23. Most probably f****d it as far up her arse hole as that dildo. They're very explicitly told to have their social lives on lock down to avoid compromising their position of authority. Can you imagine the shit she would get giving sex ed! LOL
  24. Labour have lurched left and as a consequence the Torys and UKIP have lurched left to grab the 'working mans vote'. Sensible move politically, grab the center ground, but the pair of them are rapidly losing appeal for me. Can everybody stop moving left please! It's that b*****d Corbyn to blame! LOL
